    1. That mod is 95% base Diablo II plus some adjustments and some QoL and thats it, pretty much the reason why the purists love it, wich is fine.

Median XL on the other hand adds so much extra content into the game it blows my mind, like a fully functional and deep crafting system, tons of new items, skills, builds, enemies etc… People like me who sometimes want a different experience of Diablo II while retaining the same solid core mechanichs and atmosphere only can love this project.

I had a blast the last year playing this mod and after watching this trailer one can notice how much work they put on it again. Its simply amazing considering it’s not an easy game to mod.

    1. banned them. Next time report the comment (if you come across any other) so I can find it more easily.

    2. So p*rn gifs are where we cross the line on here? Not all of the racist comments on here everyday on every article.

      1. Things that will put the site itself in danger are not allowed, plain and simple. P*rn gifs are one of them. Racist comments (obviously with censored words) will not put the site in any danger.

        1. Truth be told, it could put the site in danger, or will in the future, maybe depending on the content you write.

      2. If it was up to me, I’d ban a lot of pieces of sh*ts here but it’s not and most people here seem to be happy with comment moderation.

  1. So tired of those so-called “epic” trailer music using the same overused Kontakt samples we heard millions of times. Everybody does this, it’s so unoriginal.
Massive kicks with long reverb, long aggressive drone, overly used loop of epic violins! Ooooh scaaaaryyyy! ?
    It doesn’t even FIT Diablo’s 2 tone…

For those who don’t know, it’s possible to create this in literally 10 seconds with Kontakt and any DAW like Mixcraft or Ableton…
And the worst part is that both movies and games are like this now.
80s trailers were so much better…

But eeer… yeah, besides that totally useless rant, mod is great though. lol

  2. I played both Project Diablo 2 and Diablo 2 XL Median. Definitely two of the best mods right now.

Project Diablo 2 remains much more faithful to the original Diablo 2 without going overboard with the mechanics, while adding QOL changes (bindable skills, loot filters, easy transfer items etc) while also adding their own mechanics like the corrupting system etc

Median XL is more of a steroid version of Diablo 2. Pretty much adding complete overhaul mechanics and even faster gameplay on end game. New classes and new skills not even from the Diablo game itself.

I would say if you compare the two. It would be like Skyrim Full HD mods with QOL features (PD2) vs Fully Overhaul Mod of Skyrim (Median XL).

I’d chose PD2 since it has even better HD mods implemented (from Slash Diablo) and is much more closer to the definitive Vanilla D2 experience, while improving and removing the things that plague Vanilla with issues.

It also has more active community due to the game being fairly new (it just came out this Jan 2021) as well as ability to play Offline, which you can actually install some mods like Plugy (Stash increase up to 1000) and so on.

XL Median is still great, but it’s very very different version of Diablo 2. Though community is much more tight knit and few now due to how old the mod is (7-10 years now?). Still very strong and dedicated players on their website and will help you with tons of guides etc.

If you are a first time player, I wouldn’t recommend XL Median due to how vastly different it is to D2 in general.

But you can’t go wrong with any of the two. I just think if everyone is going to start D2 for the first time. Definitely recommend PD2 first and see how much they have improve vanilla, while also keeping the Vanilla experience intact.

Another popular is Path of Diablo. But I don’t like Path of Exile’s mechanics in general. So it doesn’t really make sense for me to try it.

I already stopped myself in buying D2 Remaster. Unless they can somehow convert these mods to D2 Remastered. I wouldn’t touch that game at all, but we’ll see once crack version comes out.

  3. this was the first major mod i ever played. it was so good that it made me actually dislike the main game since the gameplay was so boring and shallow in comparison
