Modder ‘cradilyex’ has shared a simple but cool new mod for Cyberpunk 2077. This mod adds cinematic vehicle explosion smoke effects to the game. As such, it can make the whole experience feel a bit more cinematic.
Going into more details, this mod greatly overhauls the smoke effects from exploded vehicles. The smoke now feels more cinematic than ever. In a way, it reminds me of the heavy smoke we saw in the E3 2000 trailer for Halo.
Like I said, this is a simple mod, but it can make the game look a lot better. The good news is that it doesn’t hurt performance, so you can use it without slowing down your game.
However, there are some problems. The mod doesn’t work with the Constant Rain Mod. Also, smoke can sometimes clip through things like bridges or parking garage floors. And if a car explodes and flips on its side or upside down, the smoke will go in the wrong direction.
Those interested can download the mod from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find some screenshots from it. Plus, we have a comparison between the vanilla and the modded versions. This will give you an idea of what you can expect from it.
Speaking of CP2077, here are some other great mods for it. For starters, you can download the Enhanced Photo Mode Unlocker. There’s also a mod that allows cars to fly, as well as other mods that can open up new areas to explore. Then we have this mod that adds a cool Grand Theft Auto-inspired Taxi Driver Mode. Oh, and don’t forget these mods that allow you to play as Ciri from The Witcher 3. Plus, there is a cool Urban Survival Immersion Μod, as well as a Story-Driven Rent System Mod and a Fully Functional Fuel System Mod.
If you don’t want to pay for a graphical mod, you can improve the game’s graphics with the following free mods. For instance, you can use the Ultra+ Mod. Not only does it improve the quality of Path Tracing, but it also improves performance. Its creator has claimed that it can speed up PT performance by 30-40%.
If, on the other hand, you don’t want to use it, you can try some other Path Tracing/Ray Tracing Mods. For instance, this mod disables all the fake lights when using PT/RT. And then we have this mod that can improve the path-traced reflections.
There are also some free HD Texture Packs to use. For example, you can use Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked or this other HD Texture Pack that improves all trees. There’s also another pack that improves the textures of almost all buildings, terrain, and environments. However, these packs don’t work together. Therefore, you’ll have to use only one of them.
Additionally, there’s a mod that adds realistic ragdoll physics to finishing moves. Plus, Law Enforcement Overhaul is a mod that enhances the game’s Police System. And there’s even a mod that integrates the OpenAI API, which enables ChatGPT support. Responsive V is another cool mod that enables dynamic NPC reactions. Moreover, this mod will overhaul the main story. Don’t sleep on them, as they can greatly enhance your gaming experience. And finally, this mod restores 100 NPCs that were cut from the game.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

In the year 2077 the latest patches and mods will make it so every atom in Night City is simulated for true photorealism. But NPCs still won't be able to drive properly.
I like how those super photorealistic videos of CP77 are heavily edited because if people even glance at the NPC's the uncanny valley would kick in.
That's what also amazes me – all those shiny mods won't magically mage the core mechanics of the game better. It's still a barebones game in terms of mechanics but wrapped in a shiny cover.
I'm just going to comment, because no one has addressed the topic of the article.
The smoke effects look great. I look forward to using this mod.
Man the lighting in the first screenshot is just perfect.
