YouTube’s member ‘MarphitimusBlackimus‘ has uploaded a gameplay video from the tech demo levels of Half-Life Alpha v 0.52 dated September 4, 1997, over one year prior to the finished game’s release. And you know what? I seriously love this kind of videos that show how games looked like before their time of release. The reason I love these videos is because we get to see an – almost – completely different game. Chris Davie, former employee of Bizarre Creations, has shared a video, showcasing a prototype version of the last game that was being developed by that gaming studio (before getting shut down). According to Davie, Bizarre Creations has been using a new engine for that cancelled game and even though this racing title was not playable at all, Davie has managed to get its Dubai track as close to final as possible. Capcom has released a new, CG trailer for DmC Devil May Cry. The game is planned for a January 25th release on the PC, and the PC version will be compatible with both keyboard and mouse, Xbox 360 controller and all third party direct input controllers. Imagine a Jurassic Park game with Far Cry 3’s engine. Now that would be amazing, right? Well, until someone decides to create an open-world game, based on Michael Crichton’s dino-universe, we’ll have to rely on various mods to satisfy our dino fantasies. Jurassic Life is a mod for Half-Life 2, and although there is no release date for it as of yet, the team behind it has released a new video that can be viewed below. It looks cool, though it needs a lot of polish (especially with regards to hit detection, dino models, and animations). As you may already know, Activision is preparing an FPS title, based on the ‘The Walking Dead’ franchise. While the big publisher has not revealed anything – officially – as of yet, Guru3D’s member ‘Stone Gargoyle’ has shared a video from what looks like a prototype version of that FPS game. Primal Rage was one of my most favourite arcade games as it was a great mix between Mortal Kombat and Jurassic Park. And even though a sequel to it was under development, it never got out. To be honest, I’m somehow grateful that it never got out as Primal Rage 2 looks like a Killer Instict-wannabe with some dino morphs to fool those who loved the first game. SEGA has released a new trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines that focuses on the game’s storyline. I seriously hope that this new Aliens game will surprise me pleasantly, though I’m a bit disappointed from what I’ve already seen. Lots of scripted events everywhere and an awful AI make this a title that needs further polishing before rolling it out. Let’s hope that Gearbox will not disappoint us on this. Enjoy!
