Kalypso Media has released an one hour long developer walkthrough for its upcoming construction and management simulation title, Tropico 5. In Tropico 5, players return to the remote island nation of Tropico and expand their dynasty’s reign from the early colonial period to beyond the 21st Century. Players will be facing an all-new set of challenges, including advanced trading mechanics, technology and scientific research and for the first time in Tropico history – cooperative and competitive multiplayer for up to 4 players. Wolfenstein: The New Order – Leaked Footage Shows Underwhelming AI
As we’ve already said, the old-gen console versions of Wolfenstein: The New Order have been leaked and players have been sharing videos from it. And while there is a day-one patch that MachineGames has prepared for it, it appears that the vanilla version suffers from a really awful enemy AI system. We’d go as far to say that the new Wolfenstein game looks boring (from both the above and the following video), though we have to keep in mind that things may get better once players apply the day-one patch. Skyblivion – Oblivion Mod For Skyrim – Gets Teaser Trailer
TESRenewal has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming Skyrim mod that aims to bring the world of Oblivion to Bethesda’s latest single player RPG. As the title suggest, Skyblivion is being developed by the same ‘studio of modders’ that is responsible for Skywind. The good news is that two different teams are working on these mods, meaning that the development of Skyblivion won’t have any negative impact to Skywind. Nvidia’s PhysX Unified Particle Physics Solution Looks Spectacular – New Video From SIGGRAPH 2014
During SIGGRAPH 2014, Miles Macklin, Matthias Muller, Nuttapong Chentanez and Tae-Yong Kim presented a unified dynamics framework for real-time visual effects. It looks amazing and comes close to CG quality particle effects, so make sure to give it a go. According to its description, by taking advantage of Nvidia’s CUDA FLEX capabilities, this solution is capable of modeling gases, liquids, deformable solids, rigid bodies and clothing with two-way interactions.
