Here are the best mods for NieR:Automata Game of the YoHRa Edition

NieR:Automata Game of the YoHRa Edition has just been released on the PC and, surprise surprise, it still suffers from all the bugs and issues that affected the original/standard version of the game. As such, we’ve decided to collect the most crucial mods (at least in our opinion) and share them with you.

The first one is the FAR mod. Created by modder ‘Kaldaien’, this mod fixes the resolution issue that affected a lot of gamers. While the game could render at the desktop resolution when using Borderless window, it was blurry (and being rendered in lower resolution) when using the Fullscreen mode. It also improves God Rays and Bloom Effects, though we do have to note that we had some trouble enabling this particular mod.

The second mod that every PC gamer should be using is the Input Overhaul Mod. This mod enables raw mouse input without any acceleration or smoothing, precise sensitivity configuration (calibrated for KovaaK’s SensitivityMatcher), and fixed camera movement in third-person perspective. NAIOM also comes with a new (optional) crosshair aiming mode for side-scrolling and top-down perspective, completely rebindable standard actions to any key or button combination including additional mouse buttons, non-standard keybindings, such as a dedicated dash/evade and pod fire toggle. Seriously, you must use this mod if you want to play the game with K&M.

The third and final mod we highly recommend is a HD Texture Pack. Created by our reader GPUnity, The modder’s ultimate aim is to faithfully improve the low-resolution textures that can be found in this title by creating a natural looking restoration to the textures. This high-quality Texture Pack has improved more than 230 textures and we highly recommend using it.

By installing and using these mods, PC gamers will be able to properly enjoy NieR:Automata Game of the YoHRa Edition. Yes, Square Enix has dropped the ball on this one but at least this GOTY Edition is still compatible with these mods.

Have fun!

  1. Does it still have Denuvo? THAT’S where Square Enix has dropped the ball. Sick and tired of scumbag publishers STILL having that garbage in their games years after the game’s launch.

    1. Enix doesn’t remove Denuvo from their games and never will. I left square Enix behind after 2013. They are dead to me.

    1. Square Enix are seemingly set on redefining laziness and contempt shown to PC gamers. I’d have bought this game by now if they’d shown at least some willing but they evidently don’t want my money which is fine by me.

  2. Remember that the original FAR mod has DRM and some alleged malicious shenanigans targeting specific Steam accounts, there’s another version of it with all the DRM and funny business removed:

  3. Leave it SE, to repackage a 2 year old game, and call it a day. Namely, given it hasn’t seen an actual price drop on Steam, this entire time. Unbelievable.

  4. Is there a mod that makes this free and introduces patches that they didn’t write for 2 years? If so let me know. Otherwise I played the first level of this game, died on accident on the boss, and I will not ever be playing it again considering A) you have to start all over and b) they literally never fixed the giant tome of issues with this game such as NO 1080P FULLSCREEN WTF
