Gaming After Dark Episode 12

This week in Gaming After Dark it’s still a bit lighter in terms of news as of late but we had a healthy intro discussion about Nier Automata, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Medium and Binary Domain.

News topics this week include: Kingdom Hearts franchise going epic exclusive, FF7 remaster release rumors, Sega restructuring, Itagaki putting together a new studio and Valve intending to release more single player content heading forward. Additionally we discuss the Xbox Series X, and my attempt to increase focus on PC gaming as of late.

  1. Kingdom Hearts franchise going epic exclusive

All Epic appear to be doing with their exclusivity BS is driving up piracy,

    Epic, make piracy great again.

    1. I wouldn’t be surprised if the amount of piracy has increased. Not that I support piracy but it makes sense that if you create an obstacle to the purchasing of a given title more folks will engage in… Alternative means of acquisition.

        1. Making your game available in only specific stores, and controversial ones at that, could be perceived as an obstacle by some. I think the competition is a net positive long term but I’d be lying if I said I wanted to invest in Epic’s store personally.

          1. Yeah — pretty much. I don’t disagree with you but others seem to. I’ll just wait the year for the Steam versions and buy them in the bargain bin.
