Someone has already finished PREY in under one hour

It’s been two days since PREY’s release and speedrunner ‘DraQu’ was able to beat the game in under an hour. According to the speedrunner, this run can be significantly improved as DraQu got lost and/or confused a couple times. Still, it’s pretty amazing that a speedrunner has managed to beat the game in under an hour just two days since its release. Enjoy the video after the jump!

    1. To be able to break a game within its boundaries can be very fun, make a competition of it and it can be great. Not to mention the simple answer of “because I can!”.
To me the question is more “Why not?”.

    2. That question could be applied to literally anything.

“Why eat burritos in the nude?” Why not?
“Why wear a disguise when I go to family reunions?” Why not?
“Why go to Home Depot in an orange apron and pretend to be an employee and help customers?” Why not?

  1. Brace for the:

    1. “EE WHY WOULD YOU FINISH GAMES THIS QUICKLY”.

    2. “SPEED RUNNERS ARE WASTING THEIR MONEY BECAUSE THEY DON’T PLAY THE GAME THE WAY IT SHOULD BE PLAYED”.

    3. “WHATS THE POINT OF DOING THIS. WHY NOT PLAY IT LIKE A REGULAR HUMAN.

    1. How is it so hard to realize that in order to to something like this you first have to do a complete regular playthrough, perhaps even multiple ones in order to learn all the possible tricks.

      1. Yeah, that wasn’t his first playthrough for sure. Some people just like to see how they can use every exploit/glitch to make it to the end and set a record speedrun.

      1. How very dare you imply that Maverick and Goose weren’t manly. Tom Cruise loves to litigate whenever such aspersions are cast!

        1. Tom “Pretty Boy” Cruise? Ohmygod, he’s, like, so manly….. & his smile’s so plastic, it’s fantastic!

      1. Actually it is proof games are getting shorter. Because any game can technically be infinity long to beat (aka AFK all day, forever) then logically you would look at the minimum amount of time it can possibly be finished.
So if you average of all game times per year then you could show that in fact games are getting shorter (or to disprove it).

      2. Durka, that part of you being the shiny armor knight of the AAA sh*t most developers are releasing these days is just getting boring.

    2. >Beat the game in an hour.
      >Get refund.
You are getting your money’s worth.

    3. Also, when someone does a speedrun allowing glitches, there are people who deem it cheating or not genuine.

  2. “Someone has already finished PREY in under one hour”

    Of course they have, the game’s been out since 2006 ( ?° ?? ?°)

  3. Well…Denuvo v4 in NieR and Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 has been fk up by some dude from exelab ;]

  4. I finished it in 10 minutes because i’m actually very superior compared to rest of humanity, #ez4me.

    1. I got 0.0 minutes. How I did it was the only game winning move, not to play.

    1. Cry_engine …. That’s Why Star Citizen went 64bit maps and new MEGA-MAP tech loading in 3 sec 😀

        1. Oh you were being humorous with the 60$/hr quip were you now? Must’ve thought long and hard on that one to make it sound amusing I’m sure.

  5. But but but…. he didn’t even take the gamepad in his apartment and flush it down the toilet. That’s the best part of this game
