Here is the first gameplay footage for Darksiders III, showcasing 12 minutes of action and exploration

IGN has shared the first gameplay video for Darksiders 3, showing the game’s new protagonist Fury in action. This is pre-alpha gameplay, meaning that some things may change. Still, this will give you a good idea of what Gunfire Games is currently creating. Darksiders 3 is currently planned for release in late 2018. Enjoy!

    1. Yeah.. but the wipe is really bad.. POP 3 had awesome combo and also “castlevania lord of shadows ” got the best wipe attack.. but this one is tooooooooo bad..

  1. Sincerely hope they’ve brought back Jesper Kyd as main composer. Loved his vibes in Darksiders II.. Looks nice btw ;o)

  2. The whip should be made longer and thicker. It’s too thin and short so it feels weightless and non-existent. Also, the person playing is probably bad.

  3. After recently playing Bayonetta, I think I dont even wanna start with what is wrong this game!!!

    1. You’re comparing the combat in a Zelda-ish game with the very best of the character action genre, what did you expect?

        1. I never Iiked bayonetta as a character, she is a sexy teacher with gIasses. I never Iiked the universe of the series either, it is a Iess serious dmc.

      1. Tbh i didn’t liked it very much either. The game took forever to finish (i know we like long games, but when you aren’t enjoying it that much it becomes a hindrance). I prefer Metal Gear Platinum and even their Transformers game.

    2. It’s not even out yet and already people are screaming left and right that this game is s****. Man, DSOGamings audience is salty and petty as f****.

  4. Puzzles, does it has puzzles? DS1 a& DS2 had great puzzles, please don’t make this game targeted for peasants who can’t solve puzzles.

      like darksiders always was, the company (deep $hitver) is the equivlent of German ubisoft
      it’s gonna be lazy port with console controls and mindless button mashing

        1. i know, the game wasn’t even available on steam that time
          just xbox and PS3
          it came out to PC about 10 months later with minimal settings

          i remember i got it for my 360 when i bought the THQ saver bundle (metro 2033 and darksiders for about 17$, was the best deal of my life because metro 2033 was one awesome game)
          damn i miss THQ…

    3. Puzzles in the first one was kiddie friendly, and honestly not really a major deal for the game.

  5. Well I was gonna nitpick but I saw the “pre alpha footage” so yeah lots of things needs working and will undoubtedly be fixed and it’s still not coming till next year so I don’t have any problem with this trailer. The environment looked absolutely beautiful.

  6. I Iike it they got back in the darksiders 1 styIe of gamepIay and IeveI design, but it misses aIot of things, more combos, powers, weapons, combo metter, puzzIes.

        1. No it doesn’t. Many of the latest UE4 effects are already present even though it is in Pre-Alpha. You are probably just more used tor realistic graphics a la Battlefield 1 than to the comic like art design of Darksiders.

  7. That is one tall redhead Umpa Lumpa! Now seriously for someone called Fury she clearly lacks some of it, War sounded angry all the time while she sound so weak and looks so bland. Since it’s on Alpha stage now it’s the time to point out to the Devs what should be improved and boy there is plenty: whip looks and sounds weak as Fury personality or lack of it, camera sucks, art design looks bland and uninspired, combat needs to be faster and more fluid, there is more but let’s start with that.

      1. Liam O’Brien is one of the best voice actor. His deep voice was perfect for War.
        He also voice “Gara” from naruto

    1. Isn’t this game about the four riders of apocalipse? We already got War and Death, so isn’t this game supposed to be about famine or pestilence?

      1. In the Darksiders lore the other two are named Fury and Strife… so no, there will be no Pestilence or Famine.

  9. ¡Jesper Kyd P L E A S E! This guy is a master musical mind and should be in this project again…

    Indeed, one of the best things of Darksiders 2 was the OST, which was composed by this man.

    Assassins Creed 2’s composer, btw.

  10. Hey have you seen the alpha footage of Bayonetta? It looks slow and clunky, the game changed a lot during development.

  11. The Environment and art style are great as always but they don’t scream Darksiders too me. The Environment should be for Dark, foggy, Moldy but I think they ditch the Comic style and going for Realism but still the Character looks cartoony. Also where are the Puzzle?
    but The Animation are way off the “Dodge” Animation is slow and bad, make her role over like War and Death. Its like there are no gravity and everyone is floating and the Wipe…the worst.. “Castlevania lord of shadows” got the best Wipe attack and animation. learn from them.
    If there are secondary Weapon I’ll use it than using wipe but this is pre-alpha so I’ll be waiting for the final build.I’m hype for sure

  12. Graphics and movement (platforming and dodging) look good. Combat and man with boobs are bad though. Voice of a man, bone structure of a man, red hair dye like a contemporary radical feminist. This character needs a complete overhaul, just about everything needs to change about “her”. And the whip is too repetitive a weapon. Too many hits required to kill anything, makes it look useless. They should reduce the “fire rate” and make each hit stronger so it takes fewer hits to kill things and each hit carries more meaning. Then I think people would like the sound effect as well. The effect is not the problem, it’s that the weapon seems to be weak.

  13. That was quite an underwhelming combat. I have never liked whips as weapons in any media. I hated the Catwoman segment in Arkham City simply because her whip made the combat feels less visceral.

    Now, I’m conflicted whether to get this game or not. I wouldn’t mind had the whip designed as a secondary weapon for traversing, puzzle-solving and as powerful combo modifier+finisher.
