Bulletstorm – Original versus Full Clip Edition comparison video

YouTube’s ‘Game Intros & Finales’ shared a comparison video between the original and the remastered versions of Bulletstorm. This video will give you an idea of the graphical and artistic changes between these two versions of People Can Fly’s action title. As we can see, there aren’t many differences between these two versions, though it’s worth mentioning that the remastered version comes with support for higher framerates and a FOV slider. Enjoy!

  1. Let’s be honest the original is way better than the remaster. And Bulletstorm is a very good game and probably we are going to hear some news about the sequel in the next year or this year E3.

  2. More and more of these ‘remasters’ are just changes to the colours and a few shader effects. Fact is though, the game itself is AMAZING. I’ve got the original and this is getting my juices flowing to get it out and play again. Won’t be paying silly, full price for the remaster though, they can shove that.

    1. We could even tune most of that with our Ini’s and some good old fashioned SweetFX.

Really, any devs out there who want to make a remaster, should consult PC players first on what’s good to toss in vs what isn’t.

  3. Wow! Remaster of the year edition! Gearbox turns out to be a joke! Go ahead and remaster Brothers in Arms as well!

  4. Most of the effects look like sh*t in the new one.
Did anyone really think the water in the first scene looked better than the original game? WTH?
Same for that city with the sun.

  5. “though it’s worth mentioning that the remastered version comes with support for higher framerates and a FOV slider.”

Higher framerates and a FOV slider is possibly in the original. All it takes is a ini tweak and a third party program.

  6. Is it just me or does the original look better? Seems the remaster has a heavy use of tessellation, I am guessing this was of course released for consoles eh?

    1. The original looks like crap on 99% the pcs due to the horrible porting with flying shadows, 16bit colors and all kinds of weird nonsense.

  7. An overall improvement even though the ocean graphics have been massively downgraded and I’m not buying any excuse of it being for ‘artistic’ reasons.

Is there any loyalty discount for those who own the original game? I don’t know because I have it on disc and the publisher never bothered to allow us to transfer it to Steam like even the usually terrible Warner Bros did for the earlier Batman Arkham series GFWL games.

Also, and maybe it’s due to YouTube compression, but the anti-aliasing in the remaster looked to be more blurred than the original game. Are they using a low quality FXAA solution from the console versions without providing us with something decent?

    1. AA has been blended into the effects option, which means they basically tossed FXAA in there along with shadows. Watch Totalbiscuit’s latest prot report on it and see how we’ve somehow lost some options that even the original had over the remaster.

It has to be FXAA, because it would be utter insanity to toss in 4-8xmsaa in the post process setting alone.

      1. Thanks, I’ll be viewing Totalbiscuit’s video soon. It sure seems like another lazy console port if that’s what they’ve done with the graphics options menu while also restricting the AA to a console-tastic FXAA blur-fest.

No loyalty discount when most other remasters offer such a thing and, in some cases, have been totally free of charge. Er, no.

        1. Ye, TB mentioned the “hard sell”, the fact that it’s being sold at the same price as a new game would be, that and no loyalty discount makes it a hard game to even begin to sell.

    2. No discount, the given excuse being “it’s a different publisher” which is tandem to bullsh*t as far as I’m concerned, & my theory is only hardened by them quietly removing the original release from Steam, overnight, to coincide with the “remaster’s” release.

  8. I’m going off tangent here, but anyone reading this comment, what is your stance on the G2A controversy with Gearbox and G2A as a whole for that matter, because I have something to say about G2A myself… and most of it not good… but also a different perspective, from somebody who lives in Romania, you’d be surprised what I have to say.

          1. You serious about it? I can’t tell :)). You haven’t heard how people swear in Romanian, just to see how “colourful” my language is. Swearing in English is like grade school level compared to it.

          2. I banged this one Romanian gurl back in 1760’s. She kept saying this beautiful sentence over and over. It wasn’t until Google Translated was invented did I realized she was yelling “Get a stake amd Holy Water!!”

          3. I don’t even know how to reply to this, so I’ll just leave you an upvote. XD

          4. Perhaps, though debatable, I’d say. Russian has a lot of loan words, after all.

          5. Oh? Interesting.

I wonder if that comes from your language’s Latin roots. After all, you should see how your French & Italian cousins swear……

Not to mention the Spanish, in their own way.

          6. lol i was looking a infographic with various countries and their mottos, “romanian apparently is “our language is a treasure”.

            LOL

            Austrias is funny too.

“It’s Austria’s destiny to rule the world’

But he best has to be Luxemburg’s

“we wish to stay what we are”

    1. I think G2A is bad but I don’t pay attention enough to it nor do my jimmies get rustled at the thought. I just know not to every pay money to them.
Gearbox joining up with is like a royal wedding, in my opinion. Gearbox does stupid sh*t for profit amd G2A has perfected stupid sh*t to an art form.

      1. And I fully agree with you on that, even if the prices they offer are tempting. And their whole shield thing is just the dirtiest trick I have ever seen… and I know this from experience… from the 4 times I’ve used them… I’ll get to that. Now here’s my perspective.

G2A is a huge thing in Romania. You even see them when recharging via
Paysafecard (they even give G2A gifticards) as well as a lot of Romanian
channels promoting them (just type “G2A” on the Youtube search and if you
find a user called Codrin Bradea: Satana, you found one). And I am
kind of appalled because of it, knowing how shady they are…

Problem is, wages in Romania are super low, I’m talking about 300
euros/month minimum wage, but it isn’t always the case, since some
companies pay even lower than minimum wage. Yet games here are still
launched for 60 euros and that’s a lot of money for your average
Romanian. For most people, G2A (or other digital key resellers) are the
only way for people to afford games, provided there isn’t a Steam sale
or deals on more legit key sellers, like Humble Bundle or Bundle Stars.

Speaking Humble Bundle or Bundle Stars, I would greatly appreciate it
they would add a Paysafecard option as the payment method. It’s a huge
deal for me and many others who would like to purchase from them but
        can’t.

P.S. I just copy pasted this from another comment I left, except the beginning part. :3

          1. I just wanted to share this with other people, tis’ all. I still stand by the fact that G2A are scummy. But also showcase were they are the most “successful”.

        1. “their whole shield thing is just the dirtiest trick I have ever seen”

Totalbiscuit likened it to a protection racket. It’s hard to disagree with him.

          1. I’m talking more about how sometimes you subscribe to the shield without your consent and unsubscribing from it is beyond stupid, requiring you to wait for the last 2 days after 1 month if you subscribe. And also unsubscribing from it requires 10 steps, plus e mail confirmation, plus a 15 minute wait to verify email…

I know this because it happened to me…

          2. “games here are still launched for 60 euros”

Do the likes of Steam and GOG not have regionally adjusted pricing for those in Romania?

          3. Thanks. I also just compared prices of the Romanian PlayStation Store to see what the situation is on consoles. Their prices are cheaper than here in the UK (when using current exchange rates according to Google) but only by a small amount.

          4. To be fair, though, the UK gets its own price points on Steam, too.

The Pound used to see UK prices some 5-ish quid lower than the Euro prices, which were in turn generally 10 euros lower than their USD equivalent, but now due to the drop in value for the Euro these last few years, publishers are taking advantage & stealth-hiking the prices up to 60 USD = 60 Euro.

Not sure how things are currently in the UK Digital Stores, but yeah, they/you were always being priced separately, regardless of EU membership, due to the Pound.

          5. But without the European wages… compared to countries outside the EU, like mother Russia for example, where prices are almost halved compared to what you see on Steam.

You could also add pretty much all of Eastern Europe that is also part of the EU, since they are getting just as much shafted.

          6. Euro currency store, to be more specific, much like how the UK’s always had its own price points due to them using the Pound rather than the Euro.

            Just FYI 😛

          7. Yeah, I just wanted to point out how game pricing in certain countries is out of whack. And also how G2A has a grip on certain countries because of this. Romanian youtubers are sponsoring them all the time and even payment vendors like PaySafeCard (which I prefer to use instead of my credit card for safety reasons), since you get G2A giftcards from them for every recharge. Either they are oblivious to what is actually going on with G2A (not all keysellers sell fraudulent or stolen keys, and I don’t know how many actual stolen keys via credit cards are there) or pretend that nothing is wrong with them, or both.

Companies like G2A despite their shady practices function and will continue to function in countries where game prices are completely imbalanced. As scummy as they are, and even how harmful their business model is to some indie companies and developers, they are sadly a necessary evil. And while Total Biscuit might hate them with a burning passion (and rightfully so), instead of focusing on them, he should focus on why companies like G2A exist to begin with. Key resellers exist solely because of the stupid price gauging when it comes to games. And with Denuvo becoming more and more common, which TB doesn’t have any problem whatsoever apparently despite even the link he provides to “shed some light on Denuvo”, explicitly states that “certain files of Denuvo may remain even if product in uninstalled”, among many other reasons why Denuvo is anticonsumer. Hey TB, wanna fight piracy, make your legit game better than the pirated version not worse.

That’s a vicious cycle. If more games will start using Denuvo (provided it takes a long time to crack them), I’ll bet you everything that G2A will only profit because of it. So yeah, Denuvo is doing more harm when you think about it…

  9. remasters are meant for consoles . all the same wanna be pc elitists that said they deserve it for free and won’t pay for it are now in here talking about how bad they think it looks. It’s way better looking than the 360 and PS3 versions which is what it was supposed to be for . I have this game on pc as well and while it’s a matter of opinion I think this version looks just as good, the one I’m playing on Xbox, than the old pc version I have which had terrible aliasing (even at max) and the lighting wasn’t as good, having said that it isnt much different and it’s not supposed to be for pc players except in some rare remasters such as bioshock remaster which looks better on console than the original on pc. Even pc players say it all the time, “we already have the remastered version” so why are any of you shocked by this and even making it a thing when you should already know this unless you’re new to gaming. All anyone ever does anymore is complains about everything . ……Even I am complaining about your complaining .

  10. This “remaster” looks like crap. It’s as if the original was an E3 demo and remaster is retail. Thank God the original exists.
