New screenshots for Piranha Bytes’ open-world action RPG, ELEX

Piranha Bytes has released three new screenshots for its upcoming open-world action RPG, ELEX. ELEX is set in a brand new post-apocalyptic science fantasy universe that puts players into a huge seamless game world full of original characters, mutated creatures, deep moral choices and powerful action.

In ELEX, Piranha Bytes aims to combine all the game elements that RPG fans love and has placed them in an entirely new environment: a science-fantasy setting.

ELEX is planned for a 2017 release.

Enjoy and kudos to RampagaRu for informing us!

  1. well, piranha has nice map design compared to modern games, this is how ubisoft games should have been. Having uniquely designed dungeons is much better than the copy pasted empty caves with a random loot chest that ubisoft is doing, As long as i can shoot the gothic ai with a gun and get back at them for all those times they dodged my attacks and stunlocked me with their attacks

  2. I’m going with an open mind towards this one. I can’t expect another Gothic I-II every time they release a new game.

  3. Alright it looks decent. But I must ask, its been 16 years since Gothic 1 why are their games still at the same quality.. .. infact most of the time they can’t even make it to the quality they set. I love the games, Gothic series has more care put into its world than every bethesda game combined, but that simply isn’t good enough. Where is the polish? Where is the increased depth? Why is it that the quality never improved, visuals are fine and dandy but the animations, the combat, the general clunkyness, the music.. ..why are they still just at acceptable! when they supposed to at exceptional!?

Spiders have shown more growth in 6 years than piranha bytes have shown in 16.

I’ll ofcourse still play it. But I keep expecting them to become the next CDProjekt. . .at this point I don’t think they ever will.

      1. You know something was going on with risen 1, but they messed it up half way through and lets not talk about 2 and 3.

    1. Gothic 3 was an unfinished product due to heavy time
constraints/unrealistic scope/whatever. And then a bunch of people left
the studio. I don’t know who, or how important they were to the series.
Frankly I don’t even care. Point is, it’s unlikely they’ll ever release
another “Gothic 2”. And I think, our best bet is to wait for some other
team to make a decent spiritual successor.
