Capcom has released a new set of screenshots for Resident Evil 7. Resident Evil 7 is powered by the RE Engine and promises to deliver a disturbingly realistic experience that will define the next era in horror entertainment.
The game aims to return to its roots and will feature exploration, puzzles and a realistic tense atmosphere.
The classic inventory system returns but with limited space meaning players must choose what they carry with them carefully, making sure they remember to pack their green herbs.
Resident Evil 7 will be a first-person title, and is currently planned for a January 24th release date.
Enjoy!

such a shame such graphics are wasted in a swampy redneck sh#thole
What a brainless comment. It’s like saying: What a shame such graphics are wasted on a maze of corridors and labs, in regards to Doom 3 when it came out.
Yes and i agree with that, doom 3 wasted its graphics on generic dark corridors.
Yes, that is exactly my point, or do i need to remind you the brown and grey craze that started with gears of war.
HEY WE GOT A GOOD ENGINE WHAT SHALL WE MAKE? I DONT KNOW SOMETHING GENERIC BROWN AND GREY WITH SMALL CORRIDORS INVISIBLE WALLS MINIMUM INTERACTION AND LOTS OF DARK ROOMS TO COVER UP IT ALL UP.
Jupp, another brainless comment. ID Tech 4 was created with Doom 3 in mind. It’s perfectly suited for indoor environments, in a similar way that Unreal Engine 3 was. Both ID Tech 4 and UE3 did not look great in a nature setting and/or in large open environments. For that, engines like CryEngine and Frostbite excelled.
The brown tonemap used in Gears was disliked by some people yes. But again its what the devs wanted. By the time Gears was released on the PC, we weren’t spoiled with programs like sweetfx/reshade. Yet, it’s a developer decision, not a waste of an engine, and since UE3 was a hugely successful engine across countless of games, your initial point is invalid.
If that gameplay is good, then the game will be amazing.
Coz looks like Capcom is doing everything I wanted they do in one RE game, so I hope that 1st person gampelay feels awesome.
The description is everything I want from a Resident Evil game… except for the camera. I really would have preferred third person, but at least everything else sounds good so far, let’s hope they can pull it off properly.
*cough * ahem! .. … .. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
POSTPROCESSSING
Yeah, it’s part of modern game engines nowadays. Get used to it 🙂
I know, there is just so much of it! :O
Yeah get used of chromatic aberration, post processing, brown and grey and lack of color. What a brainless comment, its like saying when you got a HD camera you should take good pictures instead of something ugly and boring.
BECAUSE EVERYONE WANTS TO LOOK AT HIGH QUALITY DECOMPOSING FRUIT AM I RIGHT? Thats what RE7 looks like.
Or maybe you should appreciate the atmosphere the game devs are aiming for in this particular game. If you find CA to be a headache, then find a way to turn it off. If you can’t turn it off, well don’t play the game. Post processing is more than just CA, which makes your comment invalid.
By the way: “brown and grey and lack of color” is easily fixed with reshade.
Good night Irene!
Anyone who played the ps4 demo or even saw it can EASILY tell these are bullshots of the worse type. People will be dumb enough too think this is how it will look….
Oh common. Get a decent system and a 4K monitor and stop crying over high fidelity visuals. Or maybe you’re just mad because you can’t push 4K and high levels of anti-aliasing and/or supersampling yourself.
It’s like. If i took my dog to a beauty contest, I would make him look as good as possible when showing him off, using overly expensive shampoos that most people can’t afford. Why would I dumb down the looks of my dog just because the majority of regular peoples dogs look worse or the fact that they can’t afford to have them to look as good as possible?
To be fair, there’s plenty videos showing off the game, and videos can’t be “bullshotted” in the way screenshots can, unless they’re rendered offline, which they aren’t.
Did you really just like your own comment…
he always does, so much that when he did not upvote himself a while ago, someone told him “You forgot to upvote yourself”
Also in response the guy you upvoted. Yes doom 3 wasted its graphics on generic dark corridors.
Holy sh*t that looks fantastic!
hope the game has some good action like re4, or even better some new mode/s added alongside story mode
Ambiance feels deep and scary enough for me to check it out.
