Diablo 1 remake is coming to Diablo 3, and will be a completely free event

Blizzard has announced that a Diablo 1 remake will be coming to Diablo 3. This remake will be a completely free event, and will feature almost everything from the first Diablo game.

Players can expect to find 16 levels from the first Diablo game, as well as four main bosses and a special graphics filter that will make the graphics look “old-ish”.

This Diablo 1 remake will also lock character movement to eight directions, making it feel as close to the original game as possible.

As chief development officer Frank Pearce said during BlizzCon 2016:

“There will be many secrets to discover as well. If you love Diablo, this anniversary event will be very nostalgic.”

Players will be able to enter the Dungeon via a teleporter in The Old Ruins of Tristram. The Anniversary Dungeon will be included in “The Darkening of Tristram” patch for free. It will be on PTR next week, and live in January.

Do note that this will be a limited time event, occurring for the month of January every year.

      1. Doesn’t matter if it is wow or not, you just don’t get to make choices for others. An adult would know that.

      2. The moment you start a war between PC and Consoles in a discussion like this, clearly shows who are the adults.

I myself prefer and play on PC, and yet I don’t care nor comment where others play or like to play, that type of behaviour is beyond childish.

    1. I have the First day version on PC, no DLC but on PS4 I have complete disc with DLC, also I like gmapead more than mouse

Why not leave the remake? Developers always leaving everything half-made.

  2. THis is just some limited time event. its not a legit version of Diablo 1. Diablo 3s randomized map generation is too limited to really give the player a similar 16 level dungeon experience that was offered back in 1996.
