Devolver and Flying Wild Hog have announced that Shadow Warrior 2 quadrupled its sales compared to the Shadow Warrior reboot from 2013. In addition, Shadow Warrior 2 is the biggest launch of Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital as it was highly praised by both critics and gamers.
Michal Szustak, Studio Director at Flying Wild Hog, said:
“We could not be happier with the reception of Shadow Warrior 2. We’re a small studio with only about 75 people, and each of us poured our hearts and souls into making a bigger, different experience for Shadow Warrior 2. That our fans and critics have largely applauded our efforts means the absolute world to us.”
Devolver released a new video that gives fans a look behind the scenes of Flying Wild Hog. The video covers a variety of topics, including the Game Design decisions, artistic freedom, rabbits in motion capture, and the ‘explosion’ in the Polish game development.
Flying Wild Hog is currently working on the first free content for Shadow Warrior 2. This free content is the fan-favourite katana, the Nobitsura Kage.
Last but not least, Flying Wild Hog is working on updates for Shadow Warrior 2 that will feature new missions, an ultra-serious challenge mode, plus more new weapons, items and Co-ninja pawn.

TB hates borderlands style games in general and bulletsponges he hated destiny and division too, ggmanlives is a moron that insists on playing games on the hardest setting and call them unbalanced….YOU PLAYED IT ON THE HARDEST SETTING YOU FOOL NO GAME IS BALANCED OR FAIR IN THAT SETTING.
Still the game overdid it with the loot focus and focused too much on content rather quality. But the enviroments are very pretty and has plenty of weapons to play with. Money wise it is good value.
TB and others can hate the game all they want but it won’t change the fact that a lot of people like this game. I agree with his assessments on SW2 but the upgraded combat alone is more than enough to keep me having an enjoyable time with game. The loot system is underwhelming but the game can be played without us needing to focus too much on it.
TB also hates the semi-procedural level because it breaks the story pace but that is also a point that I don’t mind. I have tons of games that I gave up playing just before the final levels. I bought the Shadow Warrior reboot upon launch and played it continuously until I got bored just before the final levels- I only finished the whole game just last week. With Shadow Warrior 2 I played it almost non-stop and finished the whole story mission in just days. Granted the sequel’s story is shorter but the game clocked me around 24 hours of playing around the levels.
Replacing the fortune cookies with quotes was bad. Also the banter between Kamiko and Wang is nowhere as good as Wang and Hoji.

Great game but too short. I finished only in two days on medium difficulty

Iam currently playing mafia 3 and battlefield 1 on hard difficulty.
Sure if your definition of “be a real man” is playing it with bb guns that do very little damage and the gameplay is horrible. For that reason alone i would play this game in the lowest difficulities just to make sure weapons dont feel like squirt guns and after 3 mags enemies explode in pieces….not fun or engaging combat
I played it on hard and got a decent challenge but it still felt easy. Cranking it up to hardest makes the game unenjoyable. I spend more time dashing away from enemies and spamming heal. Not the way I want to play shadow warrior lol.
Ok then be a f’ing real gamer and play the game of hard difficulty. Do you play videogames or watch videos of them? Because playing on easy and medium difficulty these games is like watching their gameplay videos. Almost every videogame in the hardest level of difficulty is unforgiving. Your weapons do very little damage in every game at this difficulty. From Witcher to DOOM, to Shadow Warrior 2. What is this nonsense about horrible gameplay and little damage. That’s how it was always since the NES era..

Game has been out one week and there have already been 3 patches, very dedicated devs.
Now i feel bad for not buying it. i will pick it up after a few months and saving some money, Civ6 emptied my pockets and after that Owlboy is in my list then SW and maybe Xcom 2 after that.
great game well deserved. never played the first one but i am playing the second one which reminds me of Borderlands and i love Borderlands. the gameplay is amazing.
Thoroughly enjoyed the game from start to finish. I really hope they make a Shadow Warrior 3 and a Hard Reset 2 eventually as well.
Its sold through gog as well and steam spy isnt as accurate as everyone thinks it is.
