Mortal Kombat XL – Price & Special Deals Revealed

It appears that the price – as well as some special deals – for Mortal Kombat XL have been revealed. According to Bandai Namco Warner Bros, the game will be priced at $39.99 for those not owning Mortal Kombat X (Mortal Kombat XL will feature Mortal Kombat X and the Kombat Packs, as well as all the network improvements that have been made to the game).

Mortal Kombat XL will be priced at $24.99 for those already owning Mortal Kombat X, while the Kombat Pack 2 will be priced at $19.99.

For what is worth, Warner Bros will offer both of these at a discount during Mortal Kombat XL’s launch. Therefore, PC gamers – who already own Mortal Kombat X – will be able to get Mortal Kombat XL for $12.49 and the Kombat Pack 2 for $9.99 for a limited time.

  1. bandai namco is publishing this? did they always do that? wasnt it warner?
    this is great that bandai namco picked it up, ever since they moved to PC they are just going full throttle. realizing the potential of the platform in long term sales.

    1. Yes, Warner Bros. Entertainment was the original publisher.

      Don’t get too hyped for BANDAI NAMCO, though. Their PC track record is a long hit & miss streak. Hell, their entire track record is a series of hits & misses.

        1. Arkham Knight wasn’t supposed to be a “miss” either.

          Given enough lack of time, anyone can screw up a game &/or port.

          Good to hear about the Beta, though. Regardless, BANDAI NAMCO should always be taken with a salt pinch, generally speaking.

      1. anything is possible but for now i take Namco over Warner. at least it feels like they appreciate their success on PC more than Warner.

        1. Turns out it is Warner after all.

          Either way, like the other guy said, the Open Beta is pretty good, so this might turn out to be a good port after all in the end.

    “Bandai Namco will offer both of these at a discount during Mortal Kombat XL’s launch.”
    “PC gamers – who already own Mortal Kombat X – will be able to get Mortal Kombat XL for $12.49 and the Kombat Pack 2 for $9.99 for a limited time.”

    ……..

  3. Oh well, i was looking for a casual get in get out in 20mins game to replace rocket league. Guess i found it. Quite pleased with the beta performance.

  4. For those wanting to jump in, MKX Premium (comes w/ base game & Kombat Pack 1) is still -75% on Humble Store for the next 2 hours. That’ll let you upgrade to MKXL for $20 USD total.

    1. I looked into it, turns out the article’s phrasing is a little misleading;

      The MKXL Patch (ergo netcode) is free to all current MKX owners, whereas the MKXL Pack (ergo, the DLC content) is paid access.

      From the original, official announcement;

      “Additionally on that day, current owners of Mortal Kombat X on PC will be able to download the latest patch for free, giving players access to all of the latest balance updates as well as the enhanced online experience, that was available in the recent beta test for the game.

      Mortal Kombat XL offers the ultimate Mortal Kombat X experience that includes the main game and all content featured in upcoming Kombat Pack 2”

    2. The netcode update is free on PC. The description of the Kombat Pack 2 says

      “Additionally on that day, current owners of Mortal Kombat X on PC will be able to download the latest patch for free, giving players access to all of the latest balance updates as well as the enhanced online experience, that was available in the recent beta test for the game.”

      These packs are just additional characters. Sorry you have poor reading comprehension

    3. The netcode update is free on PC. No where in that article or image does it say current MK X owners need to pay for the netcode changes.

      Keep making things up though

      1. i misread that, my fault. still shady having the gall to charge for anything related to this game after how they lied and then how badly they treated pc gamers.

        in my defense in this article it never says that the netcode thing is free, just that current owners of mkx pay less than new buyers.

        1. “in my defense in this article it never says that the netcode thing is free, just that current owners of mkx pay less than new buyers”

          Exactly yet you instantly went ahead and assumed they are charging for it then started to spread bullsh*t. This place is worse than reddit when it comes to people making things up to circlejerk.

  5. wow wow wow so pc gamers still have to buy for the same game just improved hahahahah ok I aint buying this garbage I thought ohh its cool if I get for free but pay actual money ha no

  6. We pc gamers should have all gotten this garbage for free especially those who own mortal kombat x day one 1 like me :I
