In order to celebrate its 30th anniversary, Ubisoft is offering PC gamers seven digital games (from June to December) free of charge. Last month, the French company offered Rayman Origins and today the big publisher made The Crew available to everyone.
The Crew is an action-driving MMO that propels gamers on a reckless ride through a massive open world version of the United States of America, featuring a number of challenges and diverse terrain – from city to suburb, county to county, state to state, coast to summit.
As its description reads:
“The Crew redefines the level of freedom players experience in a driving game by offering a playground of unprecedented scope in which any driving fantasy can be realized: speeding on coastal highways, slaloming through the bustling streets of major cities, drifting along the sharp turns of mountainous tracks.”

It also doesn’t include people buying the game directly through U-Play… I purchased my copy directly through U-Play (which Steam Spy wouldn’t track). I have two copies of The Crew (one for me one for my son), my copy I purchased thought U=Play and my son’s through Steam. I would bet a lot of people bought THIS title through U-Play as well (considering it’s a UBI Soft title…). Anyway I would at least double those Steam Spy numbers.

I feel really sorry for those who paid full price for this game, only for Ubisoft to give it for free 1 year later.
As for me, who knows, I might actually like the game, since I wouldn’t have bothered buying it from all the reviews I’ve heard.

lol, when they gave Prince of Persia for free, i opened uplay and saw The Crew (full version not the trial) in my library, then next month it vanished, now it’s there again. i’m not going to download 21GB of disappointment and saw too many locked DLCs.
The DLCs do not show up either on the client or the store for me. Where are you seeing them?
They back tracked from free SeasonPass, you will get The Crew for free with latest update (graphical upgrade which was release with Wild Run) and that’s it. you have to buy WildRun or the next expansion if you want to play them. but try the game first, it riddled with micro stutters on any setting for most people.
Yeah I noticed the microstutters too. Thought it was my system. A thing that helped me reduce the stutter was disabling HT on my Core i7 2600.
Anyway, I kind of like the game. Maybe I needed a break after playing the heck out of Transformers Devastation (and I recommend you to at least try the game) and finishing it on Prime, alongisde most of the challenge missions. I even videos of me playing as stylish as I can on my Youtube channel. 😀
Yeah, in game notifications also may cause stuttering, disabling them might also fix the issue. Game itself is not bad, some bugs here & there but looks way better than TDU.
I saw transformers’ videos, it’s good but not my type of game, thanks anyway.
That’s all fine but I’m asking where you saw the DLC. I’m happy getting the base game for free and if needed I can buy some DLC to support the developers if I like the game. But I just can’t find any DLC anywhere on the client or on the web store.
