Battlefield 1 – New video showcases how much destruction you can cause

YouTube’s ‘jackfrags’ has released a new video for Battlefield 1, showcasing how much destruction you can actually cause. This video is based on the alpha build of Battlefield 1, though we are pretty sure that the overall destruction will remain the same. It looks great (even though there are some indestructible objects), so be sure to give it a go!

How much destruction is there in Battlefield 1?

  1. I can see why they left some walls as indestructible, it would make the map kind of boring for infantry near the end of each match as everything is just leveled completely, kind of like bad company 2

  2. Can’t wait for this game:

    – destruction: check
    – big battles: check
    – dogfights: check
    – great graphics with lots of elements and full DX12 support: check

  3. havent you guys found this odd that they have only shown the pc version and even the beta its just the pc right now and zero console play.the game is 3 months out and there is no console game play and they promote xbox one first dlc.

i just think that it strange especially when they promote xbox one first.

  4. some of the destruction looks very scripted and unatural… it’s quite embarrassing considering games like red faction existed long ago.

    1. Red Faction was the sh!z, I remember when I covered two ends of a bridge
with explosives and detonated them. The entire thing collapsed
realistically, without disappearing like in Worms or something. That
      amazed me.

      1. Red Faction 3 and 4 stories are awful, but they are 100% worth playing just for the awesome level of destruction. There is no other game out there that compares to them.

    2. And yes, the destruction is scripted, just look at that debris being pulled out of the ground.
Isn’t it a must in a multiplayer game, though? It’s way harder to synchronize all that destruction between 64 computers than just render it in singleplayer mode.

      1. Maybe, but even so, this level of tech can already be found in 2010’s Bad Company 2, so it’s not like they even pushed the Engine in order to make something new, they just finally came around full circle (almost) after trolling us for the past half a decade.

        1. They probably can’t push it further or it would screw up something. Maybe netcode, maybe it would be too CPU-intensive for consoles…
          That’s my hunch.

  5. Game looks great, not intersted in it but it looks good & thanks for the headline, no expensive meaningless words or over hyped headline is always welcome.
