YouTube’s member ‘DANNYonPC’ has shared a video, showing what Mirror’s Edge Catalyst looks like in third-person mode. In order to achieve something like that, DANNYonPC used the Cinematic Tools by Matti Hietanen. It’s a pretty cool video, especially since Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is designed as a first-person game (which explains why Faith’s animations are a bit stiff). Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. Character animation in 3rd person seem clunky. Is this supposed to be an option or it’s a hidden dev feature ?.
Neither. It’s done via a third-party tool as mentioned in the article.
God damn rip my intelligence. I didn’t even read the article. I’m dumb as fakk.
Rekt me.
Don’t sweat about it, happens to everyone.
Right in the article:
“Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is designed as a first-person game (which explains why Faith’s animations are a bit stiff).”
Why bother making them smooth when the average player isn’t going to see them without going out their way and using a third party tool?
You’re 100% right, like i stated to someone else, i hadn’t read the article… ;(
I remember such a mod for the original Mirror’s Edge.
third person looks cool
STILL A VERY BLAND GAME.
Atleast it looks functional, the first one with the third person mod is a horror show.
It’s cool somebody did this…. But as a Mirror’s Edge Fan it feels so wrong.
When we get a performance analysis of ME:C ?????
