Unity has released a new video for its Unity Engine, showcasing the graphical improvements of the latest 5.4 version over the 5.0 version. We’ve heard lately a lot of games using the Unity Engine, so here is hoping that developers will use this latest version of it. Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”

Wow! 5.4 enabled textures!
My thoughts exactly – Unity 5.4: Now featuring corridor textures!
Not only that, but increased contrast and saturation too!
Been drinking quite a bit but does 5.0 look better? I watched it 3 times.
Are they playing with us ? They basically changes the lighting and they call it “engine graphical improvement” ?
Is no one in the media going to call them out for this ridiculous “comparison”.
How f*ing shady.
5.4 still looks like last gen compared to UE4.

You showed how good-looking is UE4 but how do you know Unity wouldn’t be able to accomplish this?
Their tech demos, used to showcase the absolute best possible, fall short behind UE4, CE and Frostbite.
5.4 in this video looks terrible
The screenshots I posted aren’t even a tech demo, they are in-game characters, you can go watch the video on Epic Game’s official channel where they break down their character creation pipeline for Paragon and the tech behind it for 2h.
Unity lacks many of the rendering techniques employed by UE4, it’s a more basic engine, full stop, it’s a factual statement.
That’s clearly not how you make comparison videos!
