Confirmed: Dark Souls III Will Support 60FPS On The PC

Dark Souls fans, rejoice. The official Twitter account of Dark Souls has just confirmed that the PC version of Dark Souls III will run at 60fps. There is nothing more to say other than that. Whether this was caused by the huge backlash or not remains a mystery. What matters is that Dark Souls III PC won’t be locked at 30fps.

    1. What does Durante have to do with this announcement, and who exactly is lying here? Please elaborate, I’m curious.

        1. Oh I’ve read the news, don’t worry. But you didn’t answer my questions.

You mentioned Durante. For starters, what does Durante “fixing” the game have to do with the developer’s confirmation? Do you actually think they confirmed 60FPS just because some random modder was going to fix it and make them look bad?

Secondly, and more importantly… you mentioned “liars”. Who exactly are the liars here, and why?

  1. It’s too early for praising the sun. 60fps doesn’t mean it won’t cause any gameplay issues like the previous game, where the equip durability was decreasing 2 times faster, since some genius thought that tying durability to frame rate was a great idea.

And considering that DS2 is probably one the biggest scams in the industry, I actually still would expect 30fps in the end. Namco has no issues with lying, same as From Software.

      1. It was… the game was downgraded at last min… so last min that ps3 backcover of the game has all the old e3 pictures on it. It was a scam

      2. Miyazaki – who is supervising the development of Dark Souls II – told Gamekult that production of the game was flowing in the opposite direction than it did for Dark Souls.

“The first Dark Souls was adapted from consoles to PC – this time, it’s the opposite. The PC version serves as the base,” he said.

PC as the main plaftorm, yet durability tied to 30fps. Miyazaki pls.

A developer is always challenged with creating the most rewarding gaming experience while delivering continuity in graphical quality, gameplay dynamics, and balance within the game. The final version of Dark Souls II displays the culmination of this delicate balance and we’re very proud of the positive media and fan reception for the game.

        Thanks fanboys and apologists.

        And then:

We’re very excited to announce Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin!

Well, thank you so much for the paid patch with DX11 and upgraded graphics, that will never be close to what was promised originally.

        1. Yes I agree, it was dowgraded and PC gamers where lied to, it was deceptive marketing and the SotFS bs was awful.

Still, calling it one of the biggest scams in the industry where we deal with Early Access, unfinished triple AAA releases and where Tim Schaefer runs wild is a bit of a stretch. In comparison with much of the AAA landscape DS2 “evil” is so very tiny.

          1. Lesser, greater, middling, it’s all the same. Proportions are negotiated, boundaries blurred. I’m not a pious hermit, I haven’t done only good in my life. But if I’m to choose between one evil and another, then I prefer not to choose at all.

      3. Haha you are bombarded with useless information! 😛 I can only say:
        Good bye then.
        Be safe, friend.
        Don’t you dare go Hollow.

  2. I wonder if we could unlock fps further I want 120fps now, but 60fps means software taking this serious nice very nice
