It appears that more and more Xbox One exclusive titles are planned for a PC release. According to the latest rumours, Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Horizon 3 will be coming to the PC as Windows 10 exclusive titles. Not only that, but if Gamespot’s little “error” is anything to go by, Gears of War 4 and Scalebound will be also coming to the PC.
This obviously does not shock us. After all, Microsoft has already showcased Forza 5 running on DX12. And if that wasn’t enough, back in August 2015, Microsoft claimed that Quantum Break was not coming to the PC in the foreseeable future. Fast forward a couple of months, and here we are with the game releasing simultaneously on the PC and Xbox One.
According to WPDang’s sources, Forza: Horizon 3 will be coming to the PC via Windows store. Moreover, Forza Motorsport 6 will a PC special edition.
Regarding Gears of War 4 and Scalebound, Gamespot claimed – when Quantum Break was announced for the PC – that both of these titles were under development for the PC. Gamespot was quick to react and edited that sentence, claiming that it was a mistake and nothing more.
However, we’ve been hearing lots of rumours surrounding a PC release for Scalebound, so our guess is that it will eventually hit our platform. As for Gears of War 4, this may take a while as Microsoft has not released yet the Remastered Edition of Gears of War for the PC.

Ugh, I really want Forza on PC but don’t want to deal with Microsoft’s bullshit! #dillema
It’ll be cracked eventually. Just wait a little, problem solved.
Yes, let’s just steal the stuff we want. Problem solved right gang?
I think he meant buying it and getting the crack to remove DRM.
No, I actually meant pirating the game. If you buy it you’re supporting the DRM with your money, leading to more DRM.
And if you pirate you let those fãgs use it as their excuse. There’s no winning.
Yes. Except copying isn’t stealing. Look it up. It’s legally not the same thing. You’re regurgitating publisher propaganda.
Halo Collection would be nice
The Halo collection is the last reason to buy the Xbone. They will never ever give us Halo proper again. Only spinoff trash.
I couldn’t care less about the series from 4 onwards, but I would really love the Halo trilogy remastered collection. But you are right.
Eventually, it’s inevitable. Too much money to keep passing on it forever. Unfortunately with their current mindset it’ll be horrifyingly bad Ports locked to the Windows 10 Store as exclusives.
I agree though, f*ck the 343 Trilogy, just give us the Master Chief Collection with Halo: CE Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, ODST, & Reach.
Call it “The Bungie Collection,” even. F*ck the rest.
There’s more than enough reasons left to buy a console no matter what; Windows doesn’t compete with Xbox for the same audience.
But between the unofficial Halo Online hack growing in popularity and the 360 emulator nearing the point where it becomes usable, I think it’s in Microsoft’s best interests to release “Halo: The Master Race Collection” while they can still make money from these games on PC.
“There’s more than enough reasons left to buy a console no matter what;”
There really isn’t any reason. Not any intelligent reason any way. You must be counting “but all my friends are dumb enough to play on consoles” and other such gems.
Like I said in the line below; PC/Windows and Xbox don’t compete for the same audience.
Peasants will stick will consoles no matter what, either out of inertia, laziness or the infamous friends line, yeah. They’re not good reasons, I agree with that much, but people will simply never change their mind.
Good. Someone had been doing the homework
Would be released via Steam so no buy.
*Steam or any other non-Microsoft store
Yeah good point.
The problem is, the first party titles would possibly be bound to the Win Store, which makes me realize that I’m not the public that Microsoft is aiming for (despite being adept to the latest OS).
Microsoft wants too much control and that goes directly against the openness of the PC as a gaming platform. So either you give up on ideals and jump in, or miss out on those titles.
Valve do the same, you cant play their games using other platforms, like Origins or Uplay.
I know, but still I have much more control than what this MS ecosystem could lead to.
Also, it isn’t Valve solely to blame for that, the publishers tie their games to Steam (which comes from the fact that Steam already has the public “by the balls” so there’s that).
I only used Windows Store for Fable Legends. From that experience I had, even Uplay I prefer.
Yeah sadly.. altho i still prefer Steam and even Origin over the MS store. You cant even use fraps on the new Tomb Raider cuz of that.. 🙁 (or Flux! My eyes will bleed out)
Pretty much. All of these owners of digital distribution platforms are competing against one another.
i whole heartedly agree. valve fails big time in my eyes with their linux steam machine.
But in the case of the Win Store is not even a competition. It functions more like a generic app store and Steam and the others are focused on games.
This isn’t even a problem with the stores themselves (hell I have account on all them I think) but a problem with a fundamental focus here.
My problem with it is the rumoured lack of support for Sli with the MS store version of games.
As far as I have heard no Sli at all, no mods and locked to exclusive full screen. Though this may all change.
I’m not adverse to buying from their store as I would like some of their exclusives. However, no support for Sli is a big issue for me as I like to game at 4k 60hz.
As long as Microsoft focuses on the Store working as it should and developers focus on their games running as they should, everything will be fine.
I’ve got quite a few applications/casual games from the Windows Store, and except for some of the bugs that come with preview releases, everything’s good.
But you believe that?
It’s wishful thinking that this time around Microsoft will put more effort on PC as a gaming platform.
Yeah, Valve virtually has the entire PC gaming world in their grasp. They can restrict your gaming rights as they wish. You even have to be afraid of some mods now, because they can get you VAC-banned.
At least Valve support multiple OS’s which MS will never ever do. Same goes for modding games.
The Windows 10 store version of Rise of the Tomb Raider REMOVES the ability to use MSI Afterburner, GeForce Experience (including Shadowplay) disable v-sync and change the in-game refresh rate. Micro$haft blocking overlay programs to monitor your system resource usage during gameplay is likely their way of attempting to help cover up just how poorly optimized the game is in certain areas. No doubt Quantum Break and all of these titles will receive similar treatment.
That’s not a matter of “openness”; if it were, then you be able to play only Windows Store games in Windows.
As long as you can install and run whatever you want, Windows is “open.”
Quantum Break will only be playable if you are willing to buy on the windows store, and presumably it will only work under the new UWA framework, so no tinkering with files, no advanced mods, no dll injections, monitoring etc. How is that for openness? Unless they are willing to release a Win32 application on the store (which would require a whole rework of how the store works) I don’t see anything open. Bear in mind I’m not talking about the entire system, I’m talking about specific things, in this case, games.
Microsoft is been dabbling with this idea of a ecosystem for a while, since Google and Apple successes on the market. Of course Windows still open for installing application outside of the store, doesn’t mean that they want you to not using theirs.
If the game comes out as well optimised, and no game breaking bugs then i have no problem buying the game. However if it comes out with all sorts of problems like the Dark Souls 1 release which needed modders to breath new life into, then me, my time and money are staying far far away.
Well, I would have problems even buying to begin with, since I don’t use my C/C to buy things online. Unlike Steam, their Windows Store here (Brazil) doesn’t support another forms of payment (not even paypal).
Same problem here. Even if I look past the store restrictions, I’d still not be able to purchase the game since I can’t choose anything other than C/C as payment method.
Hopefully Microsoft can make a deal with BoaCompra or PayU like Steam, Origin, Battlenet, etc did.
I didn’t know, but Microsoft brought their gift cards here aswell, so that’s one more option.
Now there’s only the restrictions to resolve, easy. :p
lol, WStore is blocked here, i can not buy them if i even want to, good that i don’t want any of them.
Buy a pre-paid credit card then. You can buy Visa or MasterCard pre-paid with anywhere from $40 to $500 limits and they work flawlessly for online purchases.
Yeah, I was looking into that too. Found it quite interesting because of the informality :).
exactly, ughhhh i just watched a Scalebound video (as I knew nothing about it), I couldn’t even get 2 mins in before i had to turn it off.
Its like MS are really trying to make me upgrade to W10 😛 If they make like 10-15 excursive games.. i guess i’ll have to do it eventually.
Gentleman, start your rigs….
As far as exclusives go I’m really looking forward to Sunset Overdrive !!!
I played that on the Xbox it really disappointed me as I am a big fan of Insomniac’s games mostly the Ratchet & Clank series.
Now all we need is release of Freelancer on GOG and a sequel and return of other PC franchises owned by M$.
True dat. But the least they can do is to release first one on GOG, because it deserves more attention.
You should.
I want Scalebound and all the other Platinum games most. The rest to me is meh but it would be awesome to the community. Still… ..windows 10 and Market place.. .
Looks like Microsoft is trying to repurpose those Xbone exclusives to push the Windows store. The Xbone must really be doomed.
xbox subdomain for Steam
reddit (dot) com/r/pcgaming/comments/45l5w3/steam_now_has_a_subdomain_of_xboxsteampoweredcom/
Am I the only one who wants Sunset Overdrive on PC as well ?
Of course not. Insomniac are dumb. They could put on Steam, they own the IP.
SO, Quantum Break and Scalebound look interesting to me.
Awesome, now lets just hope that they actually fix some of the problems users seem to be having with Microsoft Store games.
that depends how Quantum Break does
Okay bring them.
We can only hope, this new way Ms are seem to be going is the best move they ever done!
As Phil said, we are about to building bridges, not destroy them!
Let everything come to the Pc and the world will be a better place, and that = more money for Ms. Smart move and so easy to understand = The Future!
To hell with those console fanboys that says otherwise, let those fagg*ts weap and cry all day long. And we all can laugh and have a good time insteed.
Pc gaming rules, so F*CKN simple as that!
What’s the point of releasing Gears 4 on PC when 2 and 3 never made it to PC. Perhaps the stories of each game are stand-alone based, detached from each other.
While I’d love to get Gears 2, 3 and Judgment on PC as well, Gears 4 does seem to be a soft-reboot so far. So I’m fairly confident in saying that it’ll be as standalone as possible.
it might be like Fable where we have all Fable games except teh best one aka Fable 2
There is no reason to buy consoles nowadays, we are getting all the exclusives hehehe
Sure, if you……….don’t count any of Nintendo or PlayStation’s games.
I doubt they would bring GeoW4 to PC without 2 and 3. Then again they did bring the last Fable game to PC.
Well, ME 3 is not available on Steam.
After 3 months of virtually non-existant sales they’ll put it on Steam. 3 to 6 months after that it’ll be in a bundle.
Possibly, though unfortunately what with Microsoft being Microsoft, they’ll still demand it runs through Windows Store anyway (much like Ubisoft & uPlay), so nothing will change.
Granted, I suppose there’s a chance they got a similar deal to the one Square Enix got with Rise of the Tomb Raider, but we’ve no way to know either way.
A lot of people think many PC gamers don’t want Steam to have healthy competition. That is not the case! The primary issues with WStore is the fact the service gives you a very console-esque experience. As many of you know the PC platform is a very large collective of various hardware configurations so the ability to tweak hardware and software to achieve the optimal experience is critical and the absence of it devastating. Sadly Microsoft seems oblivious to this concept and it is reflected in the WStore platform.
If you purchase a game from the windows store you should expect:
No SLI/Crossfire,
Windows 10 store download is buggy,
No refund policy explained,
Vsync is always on,
Always borderless fullscreen,
Game files are protected,
Can’t launch it via the exe (So adding it as a non steam game will not work)
No fps/hardware monitor software works with it,
You need to take control of the folder as admin if you want access to the files
Mouse software which lets you create custom binds for each game doesn’t work
Say bye to using sweetfx and mods
Since no fps/hardware monitor software works, this means overlays meaning no Steam Controller since you can’t use Big Picture Mode
What we want is Microsoft to respect the unique needs of PC gamers and our expectation of the PC platform.
lol ok I can live without microsoft store no thanks
these exclusives won’t help xbone to sell more and it won’t help pushing that crappy M$store.. forza 3 ? lol i bet emulator version will be ready before M$ trying to release the game on PC as an exclusive for win 10 sotre, lol.
these are just rumors. many rumors were shotdown and only QB was confirmed. MS probably testings waters to see the reaction of their fans. since it caused a uproar, i doubt they will bring more to PC.
NO Halo Total Collection? What a rip off.
Guess what I m pirating lol no steam no buy , as far as I can see if the game isnt coming out on steam I dont care about and mind as well just cancel it
Still no Halo games? 🙁
