Epic Games has released the direct capture of the Unreal Engine 4 Showdown demo that takes us through a guns-blazing scenario where ammo and debris slices through the environment in slow motion. Available for free through the Epic Games launcher, Showdown is compatible with Oculus DK2 and up, Sony PlayStation Morpheus, and HTC Vive SteamVR. Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. I don’t know what game you are, but I will find you, and I will Play you.
Good luck as it’s a rolling demo!
haha I know.
Maybe some game from Call of Duty series?
I mean, that over-the-top epicness… And it’s the thing people hate CoDs for.
This demo is also exaggerated in terms of this, and it looks ridiculous (they hired Michael Bay for this?), not to mention bad graphics (UE4 my arse…).
Okay, but I may be wrong there, because it maybe looks horrible only when viewing it normally, not with VR goggles.
I was hoping this was a downloadable demo so I could see how my system runs it. Disappointing.
You have to use the epic games launcher.
Gee, I wonder why a demo targeting 2 camera views with 110° FOV each running at 90 fps doesn’t look on par with the newest game trailers.
Epic’s only mistake was using console FOV for the video. Had they used VR-tier FOV maybe people would get it. Also circling around the explosions to show they’re truly 3D would have helped.

Graphics don’t depend on the engine, they depend on who makes the textures and assets for the engine
I didn’t deny this, I only meant that they had chosen an engine with great (at least nowadays, in 2015) possibilities only to show this ugly thing.
I guess they couldn’t have made it beautiful because no PC would be able to render it at a plausible frame rate.
I also think that with DX12 it should be possible to solve this problem.
