Gears of War Ultimate Edition – PC Version Coming After The Release Of The Xbox One Version

Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, confirmed today that Gears of War Ultimate will be coming to the PC after the release of the game on Xbox One. Of course, that was to be expected but still, it’s good having official confirmation about it.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition features upgraded visuals, will be powered by Unreal Engine 4, and will be exclusive to Windows 10.

Back in June, The Coalition’s Rod Fergusson claimed that the PC version of Gears of War Ultimate Edition won’t be a straight port of the Xbox One version.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Steam version will never gonna happen….
It will be available only for Windows 10 through Xbox App Client, same as any other future MS games (crossing my fingers for HMCC)

    1. they don’t see your money but they use your money through credit cards
you should have said they’ll never get my money

  2. No thanks, don’t want this repetitive remaster. It’s just Windows Vista, XBox 360 all over again. I just do not care for second hand XBox games.

    1. That how it starts. First they say they will focus/prioritize PC games, then the delays, then the missing titles cause of some BS reason (PC can’t handle that console game, or game plays better on couch). MS never had any intention of treating PC gaming as equal to Xbox.

  3. It would have been handy if you told us when the One version is out. August 25, 2015 for those that don’t know

  4. They said they aren’t doing GFWL again and nothing they have announced makes it sound like they are doing GFWL again.

  5. Give us Halo that’s all i care about from that crappy console and that’s over the single player co-op gameplay.

  6. Empty promises to get you on Windows 10 and kill Vulkan API adoption, just like Vista stopped OpenGL from continuing to be used Phil has…

    1. Paid to delay third party Rise of the Tomb Raider for possibly a YEAR off PC.
    2. Used Forza to demo/promote/sell DX 12 at GDC 2014 and this year claimed there was no market for driving games on PC.
    3. Delayed remakes, with no announcement as to the games they originally paid third party Epic Games to keep off PC.

Don’t like it? Don’t upgrade to Windows 10. Send them a message. If however you upgrade to it? You have only yourselves to blame. You could have got MS to leave gaming forever and traded DX 12 for Vulkan API. I do not blame MS anymore. The “PCMR” are the ones that allow this to happen. You are the ones bending over and saying please Phil may I have another.

  7. Coming to XBone first. You know what that means… PC PORT!!! Lucky us! Expecially since it was supposed to be made for the PC.

  8. Sicnce it is the same old game with better graphics is not so important the delay for me. But the other xbox one games that they announced and they are completely new will they come at the same time or after xbox? They also said that we will get more annoucments about xbox games coming to pc in Games Com. What will it be? Possibly Halo MCC. And what else? Quantunum Break pc version?
