Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night – Gothic, Exploration-Focused Action Platformer – Founded in Just a Day

Koji Igarashi, director of Castlevania, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a gothic, exploration-focused action 2.5D platformer that has already been funded.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will feature RPG and crafting elements and will be coming – simultaneously – on PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Bloodstained’s story unfolds as you explore Gebel’s hellish castle; a sprawling structure that features a variety of locations. As you explore the massive castle you’ll find warp gates that will allow you to travel quickly without having to backtrack too much.

In addition to the classic elements everyone’s come to expect, enemies in Bloodstained will drop a wide variety of items, materials, and magi-crystals necessary to create the items that will get you safely through Gebel’s castle.

As you explore, fight enemies, and complete quests you will gain experience and become more powerful, acquiring a variety of weapons along the way. Enemies will also drop materials you can use to craft new weapons and abilities using Miriam’s training in alchemy.

It sounds cool, so we are really looking forward to it!

  1. Watching the video on their KS page and seeing the money keeps rolling in, No doubt they will hit the 850k goal and go beyond.

Personally I’m not going to bother with pledging. It is coming to Steam so I’ll pay then.

  2. I would like DSOG to cover the new updates on Valdis Story. yeah everybody hype because and old japanese dev is asking for money for do something we dont even known how its gonna be, since those images IGA is showing are just merely an art concept.
I cant say Im not hype too, but its sad to see everyone happy for something that its not going to come in YEARS, while nobody paid attention to maybe the best metroidvania that is on Steam. Just saying.Happy Gaming.

    1. it is not just an old Jap dev though. it is the father of the genre it seems but yea if Valdis Story was a console game, Gamespot and IGN would hype it. PC gaming sites are not good at these things.

  3. Too bad they weren’t able to get Ayami Kojima. The artwork doesn’t suit the gothic theme they’re going for.

  4. this guy sounds like he’s willing to commit sepuku if the game fails lol..he’s got my money =D
