Square Enix Job Listing Suggests Final Fantasy XV-related Online Game Coming To The PC

And here comes another rumor about the PC version of Final Fantasy XV. According to a recent job listing, Square Enix seeks someone with interest and experience playing PC games for a Final Fantasy XV-related new online game. Now while this does not confirm Final Fantasy XV PC, it can mean two things.

First and foremost, a Final Fantasy XV spinoff that focuses on an online experience may hit current-gen platforms (including the PC). And if that’s not the case, then Final Fantasy XV will pack a multiplayer mode.

Of course, we are simply guessing here. In our opinion, a spinoff sounds more plausible given the description of that job listing. Still, if this spinoff hits the PC, we can be more than certain that Final Fantasy XV will eventually come to our platform too.

Kudos to Gematsu for spotting this!

  1. Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy being ported to PC was not a clear enough indication that Final Fantasy XV will come to PC than I don’t know what is. The question was never if it will come to PC but will it come to PC simultaneously as the consoles. The console install base is very small compared to PC and out those small install base only a small minority are interested in JRPGs so unless they want FF XV to flop badly compared to previous games in the series they have no choice but to release it on PC.

PC is the future, console is the past.

PC is on the up, consoles is on the down.

The sooner Japanese Publishers/Developers realize this the better their chance of survival.

    1. I know right? they are still console plebs saying “hur dur it will never come to pc its only for console, hur dur it wil take 10 years to come out on pc”

      Lol what?

Why the h3ll did they ported one game after the other? They didnt just port 13, they ported the ds versions of 3 and 4 and re-released the old games.

The game doesnt even have a release date, so the pc version could be anounced in a few months or close to the release date.

The game runs on luminus engine, the engine they showed off on a high end pc. Need i point out fox engine?

This gen pc will have all the multiplats.

ps ps4 in japan sells worse than the dreamcast.

    2. i am happy that Japanese are getting more open about PC and about bringing stuff to the west *Knocks on wood. the other day i saw two kickstarter page for two Visual Novel and they were successful in their first days it seems.

    3. Excellent observation. PC game hardware is at the point where even mid-range PCs will play games at a level of quality only imagined a decade ago.

(As wonderful as The Witcher 3 will be at maximum quality, it’ll still be pretty at lower settings.)

A game developer would have to be deranged to ignore an install base like that.

  2. At this point, I don’t see what else Square wants from us. The FF games have been selling quite well on the PC and that doesn’t even begin to mention all the other games Square publishes. What the hell else do they want from us?

    1. they sell? thats nice, how about they port the x and x2 remasters.

I think ff doesnt want anything for us, infact they want someone to port stuff to pc judging by that ad.

    2. how you know that it sell quite well on PC? do you have any statistics? you know 6M copies for Tomb Raider is what they are expecting. good luck i don’t think PC can top that alone with a 5 year old game.

  3. they will have to milked the consoles dry first before they released on PC. well if consoles sales are poor (you just have to hope) then the release on PC will be sooner. if only there weren’t that many console fanboys then this wouldn’t be a problem.
