Man, lots of Assassin’s Creed news today. Ubisoft has just released its latest patch for the PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Unity. This update weights 1.8GB and will be auto-downloaded from Steam or UPLAY. The update fixes around 300 bugs, so here is hoping that the stuttering issue – that has been plaguing the PC version – will be fixed.

- Fixed numerous random crashes for both on Campaign and Co-op
- (90+ various low reproduced crashes)
- Fixed specific framerate drops
- Improved general Framerate on PS4 by lowering the priority of the online services thread
- Fixed FPS drops while Arno climbs on the RHP building of Palais de Justice
- Fixed FPS drops when in climbing and pressing the Left Stick towards somewhere that is not climbable in certain areas

- [Invalides] Arno will get stuck and fall under the map when he uses free run down button on the stone handrail type
- [Mission: Occupied Paris] Arno can fall through a certain zeppelin and remain stuck after performing a jumping action from the top of the zeppelin.
- [Palais De Justice] Arno can remain stuck when climbing part of the roof on Palais De Justice during free roam
- [Saint-Louis] Arno remains stuck while trying to pass over a table
- [Cité]Arno can remain stuck while trying to collect nomad point from Notre-Dame
- [Porte-Saint-Denis]Arno remains stuck after falling between 2 props
- [Temple] Arno can remain stuck inside a building corner at the Temple by using controlled descent

- [Saint-Louis] Arno is stuck in the haystack near the bridge near the Assassin HQ.
- [Mission: HEADS WILL ROLL] Arno remains stuck if they hide in the haystack that is located in the area with “Kill the Templars 0/3” objective.
- [Les Invalides] Arno gets stuck and is unable to exit the indicated haystack cart
- [Cité] Arno remains stuck in a haystack near the Notre Dame
- Fixed Cover issues
- Fixed an issue where Arno could not peek while in cover and standing.
- Fixed an issue where the incorrect Cover Assassination animation is played when pressing RT+X (Or Square) when an NPC is close enough to perform a Low Profile Assassination.
- Fixed an issue with right facing cover quick drop animation.
- Fixed various camera issues
- Camera will occasionally focus on nothing when performing a High Profile Cover Assassination.

- Arno performs CornerTurns instead of climbing regularly when going to the left on rounded structures.
- Beam Low Profile Step is too fast over greater distances in between beams.
- Arno goes past the edge of cover when Peeking up then moving backwards at a certain distance away from the edge of the cover.
- Arno can play the upper body animation of not having any grenades while climbing up
- Fixed some Booster issues
- Activating a booster during a mission and restarting the memory will stop the booster and give it back to the player
- Inconsistency between the number of boosts selected and the number displayed in the buy widget after redeeming a boost uplay reward.
- Arno will teleport when descending from Fences and Walls
- The Stealth Boost counter does not work properly.
- Climb to Hang corner transition isn’t always smooth.

- Fixed various animation issues
- [Café theatre] Intendant slides quickly from between two stations
- NPC was observed walking in the air and, at another point, running in place
- Fixed various detection issues
- NPCs can remain stuck in their bomb attack aim behavior which causes all other NPCs to stop attacking
- If the LOS is lost during a major scold with guard post NPC they will go to the LKP instead of staying in position.
- [Mission: The Chemical Revolution] Two aggressors inside the house are invulnerable on any of Arno’s actions
- Guards can be stuck in a detection loop and never attack the player
- Fixed various crowd stations issues
- [Ventre de Paris][Hotel de Ville] Crowd NPC can be found spawning inside a prop.
- [Quartier Latin][Luxembourg] After the user shoots towards some NPC that are sitting on some boxes, one of them can get into the wall
- [Louvres][Tuileries] Some NPCs on the bridge between Tuilreies and Saint-Thomas-d’Aquin are not scared if Arno draws his sword
- [Louvre][Feydeau] Missing chair from the NPC Station near a building
- [Ventre de Paris][Porte-Saint-Denis] The npc’s standing on chairs at the indicated house interior are fleeing into the props when Arno scares them
- Character model issue in a crowdlife station.
- When remaining idle in the game for multiple hours, player will see crowd floating in the Air.
- Horse carts fall through world when moving 115m+ away from them
- [Louvre – Tuileries][Crowdlife] Some people from the crowd are spawned in the ground
- Low Rez crowd can be seen when walking in the Street
Matchmaking, Connectivity & Replication

- Players can be stuck on “waiting for the other players” message after starting a heist following certain steps
- The user will be unable to start the first toy session if he remains in Progress Tracker until the other players joins his world

- Simultaneously interacting with locked doors/chests lit by Eagle Vision causes the object to become unresponsive and Eagle Vision to lose its functionality
- If multiple players revive someone at the same time, he will either stay dead, or be displayed as dead on every screen but his own, or he will not be able to be revived and will be stuck dead.
- [Mission: MOVING MIRABEAU] The Client and his actions are invisible to the Host after the Client performs a JIP when the Host opens the Crypt Gate.

- Game crashes in the character customization menu after performing certain steps
- Long weapon “Golden Bec de Corbin” does not become available after redeeming it via uplay points
- User can access the Character Customization menu if booting the game while offline and selecting to connect from the newsfeed message
- The background on the progress tracker is missing when the player is in resurrection animation
- The AMB COOP menu overlaps the Customization menu if the host changes gear near the COOP mission givers
- [Friend Widget] Waiting for is not correctly place under the health bar.
- The progression bars on the Assassin Rank widget/helix do not register the progress

Its good that they are patching it but what a huge list it is. Reading it you think how broken it is. They should just said “fixed various issues” as previous patch.

Sweet mother of god, did they even play the game that they were making ?
First i was gonna make a funny comment against them,(because look at the whole list :O omfg) but now that i thought about it.. it’s a big open world game, its bound to have places where you get stuck (or god forbid.. you fall thru the map >.>) They can’t possibly test every single detail right? It’s like Just Cause 2 or World of Warcraft/MMO games. The world is too big to test every single inch. However i could say against them that they could of taken at least 60 extra days to polish the game and remove most of those problems. It sure does smell like a rushed out game..
P.s. Speaking of WoW, no matter how much Blizzard fix it, i always seem to find some super weird places from where i can fall thru the map, or i simply get stuck.. My friends have NEVER been in my situations. Perhaps i’m just unlucky..
Sure it’s a big world, Ubisoft is also a multinational-multimillion corporation, and as such, they shouldn’t skimp resources in quality testing.
I guess you guys are right. Ubisoft are quite big and they sure can afford it. I guess it really is a problem of them being either lazy, or running out of time, because 1 year might not be enough. Perhaps they should start making Assassins games once every 2-3 years. We won’t get as bored of them that way either. 😛

They say alot of things. 😛 Most of them are lies and crap haha.
Its not testing that’s the issue, the QA guys regularly red flag this s**t, its the developers and programmers, who often refuse to fix it outright, and force the game to a early launch, so they can work without deadline stress on patches.
I don’t know, if that were the case I don’t think the suits would allow that to happen. I’m no insider but in my opinion this is just standard corp practice, you know ‘We can’t afford more delays, let’s sell it as it is now, we’ll fix it later’
The devs and programmers must have been REALLY stressed out and putting insane hours to deliver those first patches after the sh*t hit the fan.
My point here, is that its not being missed, QA guys are thorough, sombody somewhere is forcing its release early before they have fixed the bugs, people always seem to wonder how QA missed the bugs, the truth is they dont, they compile them and their reports are often used for the first few bug patches.
They arnt, testers regularly see these problems, and compile them in detailed lists, its the developers and executives who decide to release the buggy product.
They supposed to test the game as they make it, it’s not a big deal getting people to run around the game doing random stuff everywhere, clearly they didn’t play their own game.
Yea maybe they didn’t test it as they were making it. Somewhere i heard they were just testing if the story and quests were working, but that still leaves a bit chunck of the game un-tested if its true.
Anyway, I have yet to see a game where some of those problems don’t happen. 🙂 I used to glitch out in GTA4/Oblivion/Fallout 3 and (alot of others too) so much, and just yesterday as we were talking i fell thru the track on Dirt 3 and Project Cars (well thats not out yet, but still did happen). 😛
Thing is QA guys regularly test this stuff, and flag the problems, the executives and developers often decide to release a buggy product and use the QA’s bug list to patch the issues afterwards.
No one argues that a big open world game shouldnt have bugs, but i havent seen such a buggy game since that trash called boiling point road to h3ll and yes the name describes the game.
Day 5, i still havent made it to the end of the patchlog, but to answer your question, selling the game is more important than making it, if it sucks, there is always nex year.

They probably think listing 300 bug fixes makes them look like they are working hard and deserve praise. To me, it just looks like they released a game broken by over 300 bugs. Shame. I usually have a lot of fun playing Assassins Creed games. I’ll be waiting a long time before I take a leap of faith on this one.
If only…you know, NOT RELEASING 10 GAMES A YEAR and finishing the gmae you are making…IF ONLY, ubisoft will be at new heights.
Does it fix frame-rate drops like this? Standing in a court yard with no NPCs has a lower frame-rate than rendering a screen full of NPCs. LOL, either that or Ubisoft forgot about any AMD optimisation.

2 more patches and Assassin’s Creed: Unity will be a masterpiece that it should have been. Just shows how important a few more months of polish can do to a games quality. Batman Arkham Knight & The Witcher 3 will both be polished masterpieces and I am pretty sure their content development has already been completed and now they are just working on polishing the games and making DLCs.

performance is still the same. game runs good but without nvidia’s physx, but without that game wont have any other option for physics and you lose some physics effects like spikes etc which are availabe on consoles but not on PC

Ubisoft has recently released a patch for the Direct2Drive release of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 addressing problems caused by a previous patch which caused the game to look for a CD that obviously wasn’t there. That’s the good news.
The funny news is that, in an effort to get the patch out quickly, Ubisoft used a no-CD crack made by the pirating ring Reloaded to circumvent it’s own copy protection methods. Nice
The whole thing was exposed when wily gamers cracked open the patch to have a look at it and saw that Ubisoft had not removed the signatures imprinted on the original crack by Team Reloaded.
Ubisoft has now removed the file from the site and said that the matter is being thoroughly investigated.
Been building my own gaming pc’s since 1998 man… as for Ubisoft games I am new to them since normally I always got them on console.
that hate against ubisoft when it comes to PC have a long history, it’s not just bashing it for fun, nobody likes to bash a good company, they did many things wrong about their PC games in the past decade. it’s painful because they started as a pc company. just look at ghost recon aw 1 and 2 and their PC versions. they look awful
never played them on pc. oldest ubisoft game on pc I purchased was Far Cry 2. And I never really was into reading about games and complaining about them just playing them eh eh
if ubisoft spend half as much time working on pc as they spend bashing it, they would be the best dev aouthere.
AW1 and AW2 arent even made by ubisoft but the studio who did bionic commando, wanted and terminator salvation, they are not even the same games, they got diffirent missions, diffirent dialogues, diffirent weapons diffirent camera etc etc.
And yet you seem to stick to this outdated idea that pirated games perform worse because you can’t understand someone’s performance problems. The likes of securom, starforce and general DRM causes more problems than pirates can ever do. think of them as modders, because they generally make games work better for a lot of people.
Also, pirates have long said support the dev if you like the game, who knows how many sales games get from pirated copies that people tried and liked, then brought it.
Count me on that list. My steam account is full of games I played entirely prior buying. Most devs support the idea of “If you like the game buy it”. “If you can’t afford it enjoy it anyway”. We all support games whenever we can.

Where are you getting this idea that pirated copies don’t get proper patches? You do know that the torrent itself is a proper copy with patches, they just separate them out. These people have been doing it for a very long time, probably more experienced than the noobs Ubisoft employ. Also, it’s well known that the likes of Skidrow and Reloaded are trusted sources, that’s no secret, even if you don’t pirate.
I bet their are plenty of people willing to buy the game when it’s fixed properly and not realised in beta test at full price, but if you want to keep being a sheep then be my guest. AAA game devs are going to crash not because of piracy but because of their own ways ,just look at their stocks drop after the mess of ACU, they did their own damage.
Dude, are you being serious right now? Look, i don’t usually play pirated games, but when i’m in doubt about some game, i prefer to test it first (it should be our right as consumers mainly when the product in discussion are video games, given by how it’s market really makes profits nowadays ). I prefer not to be specific in what i do for a living but, i can assure you that there is no DRM system today in the market capable of hitting a software performance even for videos games. You don’t need to accept the information i’m posting here but, i have reasons to know what i’m talking about. In the end, none of that makes a difference anyway, what sells video games is not per sé its technical quality….hu…better stop here. Cheers!!
I am talking about proper patches nothing more nothing less with pirated copies…
they are the exact same patches as the official ones (as proper as official ones, but in this case, official patch is broken so as pirated one). games, in this case Ubisoft games runs with a loader, and that loader is way less resource hungry than uplay itself.

i guess pirated versions works better or at least the same, this has proven long time ago. you don’t need to run a client in the background and crack itself disables such a thing or most tasks for the game to run. this happened with M&MH6 (last dlc), i had the original game but i couldn’t play the game, i used a crack and boom game ran fine, it took more than a week for ubisoft to fix it, but with cracked version game had no problem in day1.
He could at least spell my freaking name right. And the majority of pirated versions don’t “works better” they are garbage and don’t even have proper patches. Not to mention they are lased with spyware/mailware
come on dude, you are a reasonable man, get over it, it’s ubisoft and its not worth defending. but almost all of the pirated games works as well as their original ones. those spyware/virus things are just flase positive because of signature/codes or whatever it is in the cracked version. just send them to your AV lab and wait a day or less, they will show you the results and they are clean in almost all the cases.
I am not defending it… but if I notice performance I will say something… and not just bash left and right like most people are good at .
bashing a ubisoft game is alright, they s**t too many times on their PC fans that these bashings wont even do them justice. i said it above, game wont act normal to changes and there were no performance patches. test it more and continue to do so, maybe that time of the day or location caused the fps drop for your first try, maybe higher settings make it runs better than low

if you seen my image post you will see other wise… I even tested it on my lower range card the 750ti when the gave came out I was getting 20/22 fps at 1080p on low preset with fxaa… Now I am getting the same fps with everything set to ultra using msaa-x2.
it’s not the patch because they clearly said this patch is not for performance issues, they said they fixed some performance problems on PS4 when connected but thats it.

different time of the day, different location etc… this game don’t act like a normal game, i saw people with ultra or low setting getting the same performace, i saw people with ultra setting (textures only) getting better performance than high or low even without patches
well for me I played threw the whole game… and now it’s almost were I expect it to be for a lower mid range card for performance. Looks like another month or two and ubisoft will have a respectable product.

compared to consoles you have a monster instead of CPU. better GPU, lower resolution, better overall settings, lower fps. replay some missions and test them, specially seq9mem3 or end of seq2.
game runs amazing on my 970. But you would think a 750ti could pull it off since it makes the console versions of BF4/Titanfall look like garbage.

this changing cloth bug was in their first trailer of the game in E3. the game is still in dev build (they changed it to N/A), not even beta yet.

I7 downclocked to a I5 using my 750ti 1080p on ultra preset with 2xMSAA… So WTF if your problem with a R9 280 and a 6core FX Problem? BTW the 1st image is set to low when the game 1st came out and the buttom is after the newest patch
Like I said, it’s one area, behind that is that mansion and if I look the other way, the frame-rate jumps up.
Ether way I see performance I mean come on 1st image is when the game 1st came out… everything on low with fxaa at 1080p…. now getting the same performance on ultra at 1080p with 2xmsaa…
In a different areas yeah, I can post screenshots of 40fps+ on ultra, in fact I did in the other article. Three things, it could be a driver bug, it could be a game bug, it could be just bad AMD optimisation in the game. All PC’s are different dude, you should know that.

12/22fps… a lot better then it was when it 1st came out.
I’m running an AMD 8350 and r290 and even on medium settings it is a stutter fest with Patch 3..in fact I think it is worse now. I tried using the beta AMD drivers specifically designed for AC Unity and in addition I now have flickering textures. Any crowd scene is an unplayable stuttering mess, ironically the cut scenes play like butter. This is the first game I have had such trouble with, except Watch Dogs which eventually was patched to playability. AC Mordor runs rings around this game performance wise.

Doesn’t stutter much at all for me and the beta driver don’t make much difference from 14.9. 1.3 patch seems ok, still NPCs dropping through the ground. I’m running FX-6300@4.5Ghz/R9 280 1100/1500.

Actually my eyes can tell the difference between 30 and 60fps. it can be a surreal change. I’ve gotten used to 60 fps and i tend to prefer it.

What I have noticed is that whenever my framerate drops to the mid 20’s, even though it shows that the GPU usage is 99%, the GPU temperature doesn’t increase too much. When I play Crysis 3, the temperature reaches ~73C, but with unity it remains around 50-60C.
Where are the shadows?
It gets dynamically cloudy and Sunny and it’s very low shade you can’t barely see shadows.

Typical Ubisoft, rush a game to market, absolutely stock full of game wrecking bugs, and then bother patching after the fact, this has become the standard way the game industry works, its like car makers putting a defective car on the road, and then making a recall later.
