Speedrunner Finishes Doom II In Just 23 Minutes, Making A New World Record (In Glorious 60FPS)

YouTube’s ‘Zero Master’ has shared a new speedrun video for Doom II, in which he was able to finish id Software’s game in just 23 minutes. Thus, Zero Master has made a new speedrun world record for this classic FPS title. As Zero Master noted, this run improves ‘the previous record by Looper (30uv2325) set in Dec. 2010. by 22 seconds. Previous record before that was by Radek Pecka (30uv2609) set in Dec. 2003.’ Enjoy!

  1. Watching GTA 5 next-gen being played at PS4, man wtf is that auto-aiming…how in hell would anyone play with that rubbish “aid”…lmao!

    1. And the levels! That glorious level design that would make the average CoD player rage quit 10 minutes in, wishing for a GPS map and markers to know where to go.

      1. It’s like Yahtzee said in his Metro LL critique:

“Oh, god, don’t give this game to a Modern Warfare player, whatever you do; 5 minutes surrounded by Russian accents they’re not allowed to shoot at and they’ll chew their own arms off!”

        xD

  2. But isnt DOOM2 hardcapped at 35 FPS so why the “zomg 60 FPS vidz” ?
Dont know if the port he’s using uncaps the FPS but apparently early DOOM games didnt feel quite as good at uncapped than 35 capped (engine related) so Im guessing he’s running it at 35 FPS.

    1. GZDoom (which I believe this speedrunner is using) and a good few of the other OpenGL-based Doom ports uncap the framerate.
