An interesting rumor surfaced today (we’re marking this as a rumor since Rockstar has not confirmed anything yet), suggesting that GTA V may use the new Denuvo DRM on top of the Steam DRM. In case you’re wondering, Denuvo is the DRM that was used in both FIFA 15 and Lords of the Fallen; two PC games that have not been cracked as of yet.
According to GTAForums member ‘Russian Mafia‘ Rockstar will use the Denuvo DRM system in GTA 5 for PC. Although this member did not reveal his source, he did provide an image that shows Rockstar as an official partner of Denuvo.
Denuvo’s DRM has been – this far – used in FIFA 15 and Lords of the Fallen. It’s been more than a month since the release of FIFA 15 and almost two weeks since the release of Lords of the Fallen. Interesting enough, these two games have not been cracked yet, suggesting that Denuvo may have found a DRM that can really put a stop to (or at least limit) PC piracy.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
UPDATE:
Denuvo claimed that its new DRM won’t be used in GTA V.

WB logo at the bottom as well, so maybe Arkham Knight will use the same DRM.
mortal kombat x too ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww yucky i rather aliens as drkm hehe
If it’s impacting performance then it’s a bad call. Pirates wont be buying the game to start with.
Then why the hell are they not releasing it alongside the current-gen console versions on November 18th. I swear if Rockstar did not make such quality must have products I would not even spit on their stupid face.
yeah they are the most arrogant devs ever. They dont give interviews they dont go to e3, they dont participating with the community.
They make a game everyone knows it and its seling they dont have to care about anything.
I kinda appreciate them for that. Normally you’ll have developers hyping their games through public interactions and E3 showings. Rockstar lets their games speak for themselves. They haven’t let their fans down when it comes to the actual games, so I guess they have that right.
Rockastar doesnt speak until they decied to post an anouncement to their site.
They dont “let the games speak for themselfs”
THEY DONT HAVE TO, its gta, gta sells by the name alone, they dont have to do anything other than make the game.
Posting a simple announcement and having an E3 showing are not even in the same league. There has to be “some” marketing, otherwise people won’t know anything when a game comes out. And GTA sells because GTA is good. The brand didn’t build up overnight… all their games are enjoyable and all their games have a quality few can match.
I mean it’s so hard to please people… if they are too involved in marketing, people will say they’re not paying enough attention to developing the game; if they’re aloof, people will say they’re being arrogant.
“people won’t know anything when a game comes out.”
When did they know anything about gta when it came to buying the damn thing?
No one cares its gta its bigger than cod.
The name alone sells.
“I mean it’s so hard to please people.”
They ruined max payne 3.
Gta iv was utterly borring.
Meh.
People buy their games becuase they are big, its a good investement. Their games dont get high scores because they are amazing at something, they just are very larger very expensive games with alot of polish. If bethesdas games sell and get high ratings by being massive, gta is selling for that and for more polish.
“When did they know anything about gta when it came to buying the damn thing?”
— Sorry I don’t get what you’re trying to say.
“Gta iv was utterly borring.”
— Apparently that’s an opinion. The general consensus is that GTA is better than most other franchises which tend towards being annualized and hence run out of ideas very soon. GTA thrives because each game is released far apart and every single game has top-notch quality, budget and enjoyment. The PC ports may be problematic somewhat, but when it comes to playing games for the sake of games, you cannot go wrong with Rockstar.
I think the comparison to Bethesda is fair, another developer who I respect. I’d rather have a good big-budget AAA title with all the bell and whistles, than the usual annual franchise rehashes aimed at feeding the console market mainstream. I want to be impressed by the game itself, not the marketing. I’m surprised actually, because you yourself mentioned you didn’t like Ubisoft’s marketing because it’s deceiving and they have zero innovation… well here’s a developer who’s the exact opposite, so I think your views are contradictory.
What am saying is that when a new gta comes out everyone is like WOW GTA I GO BUY GAME NOW..
No brains, they dont care or even bother to do any reasearch on what the game is about, thats how it sells, purelly by the name of the game.
” Apparently that’s an opinion.”
I can accept any opinion you want but gta iv was borring. The main character was borring, you didnt even get to kill the main antagonist, most of the characters were annoying losers and all the missiosn were pretty muchd driving back and fourth to toll bridges and going bowling. Oh and some occasional BAD cover based combat. Very repettive game. While the previous gta games had missions that i can remember in my sleep thanks to the variety they had. Gta v can be summed up as a doing the same mission 50-100 times in a diffirent area.
” GTA thrives because each game is released far apart”
They cant do it otherwise those games are too large and too expensive.
Cant say ubisoft is dont bad with their annualization of open world gmaes.
” you didn’t like Ubisoft’s marketing because it’s deceiving and they have zero innovation.”
Not anymore, they are the new ea, selling same games with endless dlc and crapping on pc gamers.
“What am saying is that when a new gta comes out everyone is like WOW GTA I GO BUY GAME NOW..”
— That only proves how good their games actually are. No marketing, no PR, yet you have the game selling tons on name alone. And it even manages to live up to the fan hype. Can you name a single other game (apart from TES) that does this?
“Gta v can be summed up as a doing the same mission 50-100 times in a diffirent area.”
— Well I’m referring to the series as a whole. I haven’t thoroughly played through GTA 3, so it’s hard for me to judge. But on it’s own, GTA 4 is most certainly not a bad game; unless of course you’re a hardcore strategy/simulation gamer or something, in which case you won’t like the game no matter what.
“They cant do it otherwise those games are too large and too expensive.”
— And that’s exactly why I like them! 🙂 Their games are big, rich, pimped out and in your face. No compromise. Minus the whole “celebrity gimmicks” of course.
“Not anymore, they are the new ea”
— I said you didn’t like Ubisoft’s marketing, and you just said “not anymore”. So that means you like Ubisoft’s marketing now? I’m confused.
“That only proves how good their games actually are.”
gta, destiny….please stop posthing nonsense.
“No marketing, no PR,”
You confusingthe lack of interviews for no marketing, sorry thats not tre they spend alot of money for markting by traditional means, ads, trailers, ads on buses etc etc. Thats who buys their games the crowds.
“and it even manages to live up to the fan hype.”
“Can you name a single other game (apart from TES) that does this?”
Exactly, both those games have notorious fanboys.
“GTA 4 is most certainly not a bad game;”
No just not on par with their previous games.
“Their games are big, rich, pimped out and in your face. No compromise. ”
Ehmm gta iv was a compromise, it didnt evne have planes. Gta v costed so much and it is still missing 2 cities. Also both were made easier, doesnt gta v have an option to skip missions?
” So that means you like Ubisoft’s marketing now?”
I dont like ubisoft they are worse than ea at this point.
“cod, destiny….please stop posthing nonsense.”
— Have you ever seen Rockstar advertising their games like Activision does or even Bungie did for Destiny?
“You confusing the lack of interviews for no marketing, sorry thats not
true they spend alot of money for markting by traditional means, ads,
trailers, ads on busses etc etc.”
— Here’s what Rockstar did for “marketing” for GTA 4:
http://en(dot)wikipedia(dot)org/wiki/Marketing_for_Grand_Theft_Auto_IV
Compare and see for yourself. And then check what other AAA franchises do for marketing.
“Exactly, both those games have notorious fanboys.”
— Fanboys don’t exist out of thin air. They exist because the games they are fans of actually have some merit… Rockstar’s games are plain enjoyable instead of carrying some deep meaningful message or pandering to artistic tastes all the time.
“No just not on par with their previous games.”
— Again I’m not comparing here since I haven’t played GTA 3 thoroughly. I’m talking about GTA 4 on its own.
“Ehmm gta iv was a compromise, it didnt even have planes.”
— And what about the fact that it breathed fresh life into the open world genre? So much so that all other companies started bringing out their own open world franchises with double investment. That continues even to this day. It’s like you’re nitpicking preferences while ignoring what effect Rockstar’s games have on the industry in terms of game design and budget. I respect your opinion no doubt, but the reasoning you provide is kinda loose.
“I dont like ubisoft they are worse than ea at this point.”
— You either didn’t understand my question or just avoided it completely. I’ll copy-paste the context again:
“you yourself mentioned you didn’t like Ubisoft’s marketing because it’s
deceiving and they have zero innovation… well here’s a developer who’s
the exact opposite, so I think your views are contradictory.”
“Have you ever seen Rockstar advertising their games like Activision does or even Bungie did for Destiny?”
I havent seen any of these nor have you, I live in A small european country and you live in india if i am right.
That link you posted is not that much diffirent from other AAA games, it might not be activision but its still alot.
“Rockstar’s games are plain enjoyable instead of carrying some deep
meaningful message or pandering to artistic tastes all the time.”
Did you play gta iv? It was anything but fun, many argued strongly it took itself too seriously and the story in that game and max payne 3, its like dan houser thought he was doing something amazign with his observations on American culture. He actually thought he is giving a”meaningfull message”
“. I’m talking about GTA 4 on its own.”
Its a sequel but you got to compare it with something, like say open world game, to which i say i prefered saints row even watchdogs.
“- And what about the fact that it breathed fresh life into the open world genre?”
When? They keep making the same games, all of them based in a american city, all of them about some losser getting involved with some criminals and somehow messing up which means he has to be someones lapdog and make money to pay them, always getting betrayed and hunting down the bad guy in the end….which gta v didnt, the bad guy simply dissapeared and they remembered about him in the dlc.
“It’s like you’re nitpicking preferences while ignoring what effect
Rockstar’s games have on the industry in terms of game design and
budget.”
Absolutly none. Sleeping dogs was similar didnt sell. Rockstar games are among the most expensive to make, looking at max payne 3 they should cost over 100 freaking milllion, but hey, they got money to burn.
People just buy them because they are gta, widely well known and sucessfull. Gta 3 was revolution, vice city was a mod basicly and smaller but it had some nice mechanics. San andreas was huge, thats where gta iv came and it was only “next gen” not much new or impressive, the graphics were good, as with most x360/ps3 games thats what games turned into, pretty, yet simplier and smaller.
When gta san andreas was out the only other game like it was true crime. Then there was scarfare and then next gen brought alot of those games like just cause and prototype and assasins creed and saints row and more.
Now gta sells for being the original game and having high polish and production/marketing, no so much because its the best, but because its a large open world game.
“you yourself mentioned you didn’t like Ubisoft’s marketing because it’s
deceiving and they have zero innovation… well here’s a developer who’s
the exact opposite, so I think your views are contradictory.””
You are correct, rockstar are less liars and they dont shove so much dlc up your arse, but they kidna did go there with gta v dlcs. You are also correct rockstar doesnt hype their games as much…but they dont have to, the masses will do that for them.
Now innovation?
NOPE…Whatever innovation rockstar cooks up in 5 yeasr of development, ubisoft can do in a year, the problem is that ubisoft is releasing multiple games each year and sharing those “innovations” so when the next game is doing it at the same year and the next game is doing it at the next year, its no longer new or interesting.
because their main issue is not piracy. they know PC is the sane choice in multiplatforms so they are milking it to the maximum plus now the PC version is counted as 2015 game so count that as an act of trying to strengthen their bonds with Microsoft and Sony.
plus the longer a game stays in the cycle the more press coverage it will get and with this they let the press do most of the talking
Free DLC with the PC version called GTA 5: Double DRM Edition
Triple drm actually
steamworks
R social crap
and this thing AKA securom 2.
Good luck getting the damn thing to work.
Well they removed Rockstar Social from GTA 4 so I don’t see it coming back into 5.
then how they gonna shove all the updates and news feed when you play online?
They NEED a platform to do that…they just “NEED” it, they didnt ask us if we want it, or uplay when it does the same thing, but they propably gonna shove that one up in there somehow, because its “needed” since steam apparently cant do that…..sarcasm.
Well GTA IV used Games for Windows Live to do it but with GTA V it’s just Steamworks.
GTA IV + Securom + Gwfl + Rsc=sucks.
Who knows how will be GTA V + Denuvo + what else.
isnt GFWL dead?
Max payne 3 did use it. It required a socialclub or something login on top of the Steam DRM, so its okay, GTA V: Triple DRM Edition
All RSC is it mainly for the MP though, seems odd they’d use it on top of Steam, after all, Steamworks does all that.
and if you get by all that you get drunk camera while playing
It will get cracked no matter what, if anything this will delay it a bit and pnly affect legit buyers
FIFA and Lords of the Fallen are insignificant games compared to GTA5. Cracking GTA5 is instant and eternal glory to whichever group can crack it first.
Exactly my thought.
FIFA is not insignificant, it’s one of the most popular games released every year, may it be PC or Console.
Fifa 14 was also hard to crack and if I remember correctly so was GTA 4.
you dont know what you talking about.
Well please prove wrong then.
learn english.
As expected.
All you can do is troll.
you cant even type proper english an i am trolling? You failed just leave already kid
You seem to understand what I’m writing quite fine.
English is my 3rd language so give me a brake, you clearly don’t have anything to say.
“English is my 3rd language so give me a brake,”
HAHAHAHHAHA
failed again, you can quit upvoting your own comments kid
Why are you laughing? Are you retarded or something?
Because am not giving you a “brake” Their is no brain to your insanity
implying
Lol. I never thought about that 🙂 Haha, it’s gonna be like a world first kind of race. 😛
to you
If We’ll not be able to download torrents, only the industry will lose money. We want to test games before buying them. I’ve bought many titles on Steam after downloaded them.
Nope. theres too much “demos” on youtube! And that excuse to test perf, just wait a few days after release, after someone tried it first and said how is it!
Almost Pirate games have bad perf dayOne while in STEAM its in good shape!
Haha, even here Corinthians.
they must release demos or benchmarks for their games, i don’t care about drms as long as they are not always online or don’t have negative impact on performance but they should release something that we can test their games before buying them, and youtube is not an option because it won’t tell how it’s run on your/mine system
by now they got the ability to give you trial versions for a few hours, its agood strategy “here is the full game, play it”
Then your time is out and you cant play it, go ahead and buy it.
It works its a mind tactic, you want to continue the game.
Dont give me any arguments about giving the whole game for free so the scene can crack it, ripping steam games and cracking them is not a easy thing, yet if i look online i can pretty much find any game under the sun.
Then pirates have provided a better service, you are doing it wrong.
Seriously do that, lower the prices and allow people to play the game for a 2 hours or so, then tell them to buy it, Its a click of a button, a smart mental trick they can make alot of money from that…but they will choose to mik the consumer with high prices and drm. Apparently the low sales games get the last few years didnt teach them anything.
yeah when megaupload died the movies lost money not gain, they say its becuase someone didnt watch them for free to tell other people to watch them.
I know what will happen the cods and creds will make money and all the rest will suffer since everyone will save up money for the franchises they know well and not give money to new studios and ips
There used to be something called a demo, but a demo is luxury according to ea.
I hope it does. So when they complain about the low sales due to pushing he pc version 2 godamn years and thus most people who wanted to buy it, bought it and only hardcore pc gamers and modders are left….they wont be able to blame piracy, this is more of a nod to the console peasants who think the issue with gta is piracy and the fact that max payne 3 didnt have a long delay, which was made by R vancounver instead or R north didnt hint them that its a techinical reason rather because of “piracy” which is an argument that came out ot the peasants arses.
From what i read in the forum there is a possibility that this drm will ruin script based mods or those that use other exes hooked on the game.
good for Rockstar I hope they are able to protect their product from theft and hacks
shame on anybody who pirates software
oh dont worry it will be so protected you wont even have mod capabilities.
STEAM dayONE 4k FTW!
-1 for internet sp33k, +2 for enthusiasm!
tnx….lmao!
Oh, so it will run like crap, eh?
Yay ! We are back in 2009 . Some developers are still living in the past . No one wonder they are called Rock … Star.
try 2008.
And how ironic its those two games DSOG hasn’t done performance reviews on.
I’ll see myself out.
hahaha he got you John! 😛
Lol really your right
Haha, you just fu*ken scored comment of the century!
You sir, absolutely win the internet today.
lol they use pirated too
yes because EVERYTHING ELSE every single game has been done.
Did they do fifa 14? i doubt it.
best ever
that’s cold – in DSOG’s defense, both those games were made for controllers. I avoid those kinds of games, too.
Not that it matters, but -> http://www.dsogaming.com/first-impressions/dsogaming-fifa-15-first-impressions-manchester-united-versus-manchester-city/ . Still, we have a sense of humor and you sir deserve the comment of the week spotlight 😉
Haha, this is why we love you John! Any other Nazi grade website would have cordoned off this comment.
“this member did not reveal his source”
i guess his source was the official denuvo’s site. in there they said they worked with who and rockstar was one of them, funny thing is ubisoft is not there 😀 so i guess we will see another hard/impossible to crack DRM from ubisoft as well. the more they try for drms the more i fell in love with the CDPR
then there is this
https://i.imgur.com/9XJFEIc.jpg
Isnt it pretty much confirmed to be nearly cracked already by the big piracy groups? I just read about it last night, lol.
Does this drm actually cause any problems or performance issues?
Steam drm isn’t used for all steam games like the article implies, for example if they have implemented some sort of drm solution into it the game already it doesn’t use it or if it’s drm free.
From what i read lords of the fallen used to run better when set to steam offline mode and crash less.
very bad , i love gta v and so i can not buy this game. :((
As long as it doesn’t interfere with my purchased copy I’m fine with it, I understand that this might have an issue with modding but I’m not really a big GTA modder myself, a few script mods or something like ironman is cool but yeah not into the real cars in game, breaks immersion
I suggest you look here,
http://www.reddit.com/r/GrandTheftAutoV_PC/comments/2liggs/new_drm_for_gta_v/clv5bjx
That logo dates back to May 2014 so that logo is meant for when they used SecuROM for IV.
FIFA always gets cracked just a month or two later and no significant spike in sales happens just a very buggy game only on PC
”’suggesting that Denuvo may have found a DRM that can really put a stop to (or at least limit) PC piracy.” LMAO! people already say this a lot in the past and games still pirated in this days. Pirates can not be stopped
Whats the BS, Lord of the fallen is CRACKED long ago, it’s not just a bloody scene release!
There is noone DRM that will stop the pirates, thats just a dream and it’s only hurting those retarded devs to put this SH*TTY DRM into their games!
“Lords Of The Fallen Cracked-3DM” Nuff said 😉
Did you actually tried it? Lots of people said that it doesn’t work. Personally I don’t care about the game, but it looks like it’s indeed doesn’t cracked yet.
And there is no performance analysis from DSOG for this game. If you know what I mean.
Didnt dso said they will do the perfomance analysis once they patch the game? I think they dont it with other games
i doesn’t work, i’ve tried it.
http://i.imgur.com/9XJFEIc.jpg
Denuvo just confirmed that they have nothing to do with it.
Seems like Rockstar didn’t learned anything after GFWL, and trying to sabotage the PC version again. I don’t care if it would be cracked or not. I want a stable PC version.
I call BS and even if it was real then it shows how greedy Rockstar are. Even the full PC sales would pale in comparison to console. It’s like a freaking change for Rockstar.
Pirating a few copies wont make any difference from Rockstar. They live from console sales not PC. And this DRM will get cracked one day anyway. These DRM’s are meant to delay the pirating a bit, not totally stoping it. It cannot be done.
it will be funny if they get dissapointed by the pc sale and say they wont bother doing pc for that reason rather piracy….yeah push the game all the way back, up to 2 years, that will surelly push some copies.
This will challenge the scene groups even more an AAA+ überhyped game coming out flagged as uncrackable. I’ll give it 1 week at max til the first crack.
i have a question so plz read, why rockstar dont use DRM when they relese gta 5 for xbox 360 and ps4 ? and nov 18 they are launching gta 5 for ps4 and xbox one why dont they relese it now with DRM ? im so confused tell me !!!
360 and ps3 sry
“I havent seen any of these nor have you, I live in A small european country and you live in india if i am right.”
— Correct, in that case you shouldn’t have brought up the topic of Rockstar’s marketing and interaction with fans to begin with, isn’t it? Even though today’s marketing is more viral than physical.
“That link you posted is not that much diffirent from other AAA games, it might not be activision but its still alot.”
— If you consider that as alright, I don’t see where the problem is with Rockstar not giving interviews or going to E3. They are marketing their games in other ways, so what’s the issue here?
“Did you play gta iv? It was anything but fun, many argued strongly it took itself too seriously and the story in that game and max payne 3”
— I did play GTA 4 and never paid too much attention to the story. I was too busy jacking cars and beating up hookers. If you play any GTA game for the story, you’re probably playing the wrong game.
“Its a sequel but you got to compare it with something, like say open world game, to which i say i prefered saints row even watchdogs”
— Neither Saints Row or Sleeping Dogs (two games which I love btw) are not a part of the GTA series, so I don’t see how that’s a fair comparison unless you’re referring to the entire “GTA clone” genre as a whole.
“When? They keep making the same games, all of them based in a american city…”
— Again, you’re confusing story with gameplay here. I am specifically referring to the game design aspect of GTA. Large open worlds, reactive environments, varied missions etc. I am not talking about how good the characters are, how dramatic the music is etc. Those are the artistic aspects and not a part of game design.
“Absolutly none. Sleeping dogs was similar didnt sell. Rockstar games are among the most expensive to make, looking at max payne 3 they should cost over 100 freaking milllion, but hey, they got money to burn.”
— Sleeping Dogs is a GTA clone, no matter how good the game is. And it’s a very. very good game. Furthermore, I don’t deny they have money to burn; I’m just glad they spend that money on the game itself and not the marketing, which apparently you seem to be against.
“thats where gta iv came and it was only “next gen” not much new or impressive, the graphics were good, as with most x360/ps3 games thats what games turned into, pretty, yet simplier and smaller.”
— Correct, so it was a technical limitation on part of the hardware and not the game. GTA 4 did a lot of things in terms of graphics and gameplay on that hardware which no company was willing to do because of the costs. Rockstar pulled it off because they are Rockstar. Soon companies started copying that. But it was Rockstar alone who laid the foundation for bigger open world games with better graphics on consoles.
“Now gta sells for being the original game ”
— Exactly. Which is why I said it breathed fresh life into the open world genre. Rockstar did it first and Rockstar still does it best.
“You are also correct rockstar doesnt hype their games as much…but they dont have to, the masses will do that for them.”
— Which only proves they know their sh*t better than anyone else.
“NOPE…Whatever innovation rockstar cooks up in 5 yeasr of development, ubisoft can do in a year”
— Yes, because it’s easier to copy than create. Ubisoft has some very original concepts once in a while and they do make enjoyable games; it’s just that recently they’ve started to annualize their franchises in order to take on Activision. And that’s not really the way to go, especially with the kind of games Ubisoft is best known for.
i agree with most but gta iv didnt have varied missions it was the same thing all over. Also i said that sleepings dogs was basicly a gta clone but it didnt take place in a american city and didnt sell. Proof gta sells by hype and the name alone rather being original, the gta games are all the same, yet they sell.
Rockstar doesnt have to do anything, not interact with their community or give interviews or market their games, they just get sales simply for being large games and being under the gta name where la noire, rdr and max payne 3 were not that good at sales, lets not even go on manhunt or bully.
Whatever “innovation” rockstar makes in their new game, ubisoft will add in far cry 4.
In lamest terms rockstar doesnt innovate, any dev could bring more to their own game within 2 years. EVEN UBISOFT.
Coming from Vice City I found GTA 4 pretty varied, with the races, dates etc. I didn’t play San Andreas in the middle. so I don’t know how GTA 4 stacks up against that.
Furthermore, Sleeping Dogs didn’t sell because it was a new untested IP, unlike GTA. People don’t want to take a chance with 60 bucks, so they go for the game which is guaranteed to be fun, in this case GTA. If they had extra cash to spare, only then would they consider a new entry like Sleeping Dogs.
And I don’t entirely agree that Rockstar doesn’t innovate outside GTA… you yourself just provided the examples of Bully and Manhunt. Each of those games is absolutely unique and you won’t find a second game in the market like those ones, irrespective of how many copies they sold. Oh and did I mention Red Dead?
vice city was far more varied wtf dude?
Also hype look at destiny and watchdogs.
“you yourself just provided the examples of Bully and Manhunt.”
NOT made by rockstar north.
It was? From what I played, you couldn’t swim… so that cut out a whole area from the game. Thankfully that didn’t happen for GTA 4. But to be honest, I only skimmed over Vice City so I may be biased.
And I thought we were talking about Rockstar in general here? Not necessarily just RSN.
yeah because swimming took such a huge role in gta iv…come on get serious.
Vice city had missions that you control RC vehicles, it had missions you had to keep driving or the vehicle explodes, you could buy fronts and do varied sidemissions to earn cash, sell drugs, do boat racing, collect vehicles for chop shop. It had alot of variety.
All rockstar has done in general is gta, manhunt and that crappy sequel, rdr AKA GTA in wild west and max payne 3, those are not alot of games.
“yeah because swimming took such a huge role in gta iv…come on get serious.”
— Wut? You could literally drive boats and there were lots of missions which were water-based. Vice City had none of that. Even though I will admit Vice City had its own charm.
“All rockstar has done in general is gta, manhunt and that crappy sequel,
rdr AKA GTA in wild west and max payne 3, those are not alot of games.”
— Rockstar doesn’t make lots of games to begin with. So judging by their number of releases and the examples you mentioned, they have a very good track record.
You could drive boats in gta vice city, i dont rememebr any water based mission in gta iv. San andreas had a mission that required you to swim underwater all the way to a boat and you had to spend a riddiculus amount of time upgrading your lung capacity and use a framerate limiter to 25 or the mission bugged up.
I remember there being one boat mission in Vice City where you had to drive the boat while Lance did the shooting. I admit I haven’t played through the whole game, but I can’t recall any other water-based missions in Vice City. But GTA 4 had lots of chase sequences which happened on boats, as well as the time you had to escort Brucie and his girlfriends and show them around a shipwreck. Also there were the assassin missions too which were tons of fun.
I think this is great information. For me all of games can be uncraced a few month after release day. I play in Lords of the Fallen and FIFA15, now I wait to buy GTAV 🙂
There’s no doubt it’ll be cracked if GTAV ships with this new DRM.
yea as of 5:21 on 11/6/2014
UPDATE:
Denuvo claimed that its new DRM won’t be used in GTA V.
I hope it’s true.
