The Astronauts has shared with us a little infographic, showing the first month’s sales data for The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. According to the company, 60K copies of the game have been sold this far with 77% of them coming directly from Steam. The rest 23% consists of sales from GOG, retail and other digital platforms, thus proving how big Valve’s platform has become. In addition, The Astronauts has released a new trailer to celebrate the game’s first month that can be viewed below. Enjoy!

good for them. it deserves more in my opinion but i am not an expert on this matter.
I think it’s pretty bad..
they deserve more but it seems they are a really small team (8 members i heard) so the smaller the team the more share they get. that’s why they announced it. there is also the fact that some are waiting for PS4 release knowing there is going to be one and some are waiting for sales cause they think since it’s a short game it might not worth it.
anyway they are a talented bunch with determination and they obviously like what they do so i hope we get to see more from them.
It had good textures, though.
Bad?
60.000 in a month for an indie is pretty good. That is a revenue of 1.2 million dollar.
i wish it had gone to 100.000 but this is a small indie game with praticly no marketing whatosever.
Sniper rifle? I never found that.
This is one of the best games this year, I hope more people buy it.
Haha, I like the new Comment of the Week. It should be refreshed more often – some comments of the week have been there for a month or more.
Awesome, this game looks sweet…haven’t played it yet, but looking forward to it.
Terrible sales . Very sad to see that . But then again , this game had no marketing at all . Another mistake that devs make with PC games is to announce console version BEFORE the release of PC version . People, with low end PCs don’t buy the game and just wait for console version or those who want to buy a PC to play the game do the same once console version is announced .
Terrible?
They are probably going to hit half a million or more in a few years and after the PS4 version’s release. That’s a lot of money for an independent polish team of 8.
But yeah, this is the kind of game that deserves CoD’s millions.
