Dynasty Warriors 8 XL Complete Edition – Coming To The PC This May

Remember a couple of days ago when Tecmo KOEI asked PC gamers to show interest? Well, today the company confirmed that Dynasty Warriors 8 XL Complete Edition is coming to the PC this May. The game will be released via Valve’s distribution service, Steam, though there is still no page available to pre-order it.

Dynasty Warriors 8 is a historical tactical action game that follows the stories of the kingdoms of Wei, Wu, Shu and Jin through the actions of historical military and political figures of the time as they fight to gain control over the Three Kingdoms of China.

The game features more than 40 completely new stages: verdant plains, desolate wastelands, sharp ravines, huge castles, and other breath-taking sites, giving stronger emphasis in the stage of these epic battles and inspired by ancient landscapes.

The Complete Edition includes all of the content from both Dynasty Warriors 8 and Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends, thus giving new fans the opportunity to play through both titles.

  1. Dont know anything about this series, is it some sort of Final Fantasy series type of rip off deal ? Most interesting about this game is what it will be priced, if they will ask for 60 Euros again as they did with Yaiba – Ninja Gaiden Z.

    1. Nothing like Final Fantasy, its a fast pace hack and slash game. The story is a rendition of “The Romance of the Three Kingdom”, a loosely Chinese chronicle of the warring states in China after the Han dynasty. You’re basically a one man army cutting down thousand of enemy soldiers.

      1. A one man army hack and slash game you say? Sounds cool! Sounds like Metal gear rising: Revengeance, Ninja Gaiden trilogy etc. Unlike that Final Fantasy 8 trailer that I saw on TV which showed us (For the time) awesome graphics and especially sword combat only and me my idiot thought it would be an awesome fighting game with swords (As in the Soul Calibur series) when it was nothing like that at all. Buying FF 8 and see what it really was …. well lets say I have nothing kind to say about the FF series actually it can FO ! and leave it at that.

  2. lol, DW games hasn’t been historical since DW3. Now its more like dramatic anime show that’s loosely base on a Chinese classic.

  3. Stoked for this. Used to play these on my 360 (didnt have a PS2 to play the older ones) and they’re just mindless hack n slash action. Been hoping they’d eventually come to PC (in English). Can’t wait to murder 156132156546 peasants with Lu Bu

  4. yes, i commented on their FB page when i first saw DSOG article and i will buy DW8 for PC & hoping to see more TK titles on my platform.
so it’s coming with it’s Japanese version on May, too bad it’s not the PS4 version of the game and it’s PS3 port (with better character models, resolution, frame rate & more units on screen) but it’s better than nothing/never.

  5. I am very excite. Been playing the series since the PS2 days and even though for a mindless hack and slash, it is incredibly fun. I hope it’s a good port.
