Archetype Entertainment has released a 40-minute gameplay video for its upcoming Mass Effect-inspired sci-fi adventure, EXODUS. This gameplay video showcases the Liberating the Kay Mission. It obviously contains spoilers. So, consider this your warning.
EXODUS is the first game from a new studio founded by award-winning RPG veterans behind Mass Effect, Baldur’s Gate, and STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic. According to the devs, it will be a story-driven single-player action RPG.
The game will give players many choices that can change the story. These choices will matter due to a feature called Time Dilation. It means time can pass at different rates, which can change events and their results. The game will also offer modern AAA gameplay and give players more freedom to shape their own story.
In EXODUS, Earth is dying, so humans must find a new home. They set out to live in a dangerous galaxy. You play as the Traveler, humanity’s last hope. Your mission is to steal powerful alien weapons and tech from the Celestials. They are the most powerful beings in the universe and humanity’s greatest foes.
But there is a catch. Time does not pass at the same rate everywhere. This can change the outcome of your missions and the lives of those you leave behind.
As Travelers explore the galaxy, they age much more slowly than people back home. Friends, family, and other loved ones may age by years or even decades while they are away. When you return, the world you left may be very different. Some loved ones may be old, and others may have passed away.
Archetype Entertainment plans to release EXODUS on April 7, 2027. For what it’s worth, the team has not yet revealed the game’s PC system requirements. Once it does, I’ll be sure to share them with you.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
