STALKER 2 new screenshots-2

STALKER 2 Title Update 2.0 Releases on August 20

GSC GameWorld has announced that Title Update 2.0 for STALKER 2 will be released on August 20. To celebrate this, the team has also released a new trailer that you can find below.

Update 2.0 will bring a major engine overhaul. The lighting in the Zone has also been greatly improved. The sun still shines brightly outside, but it now looks more natural across the world. Shadows and reflections also look better.

Indoor lighting has been improved as well. Buildings and underground areas should now have more natural and realistic lighting.

The update also reworks the landscape and foliage to make them look more natural. It also fixes hundreds of issues with items floating in the air, along with many other bugs that made some anomalies appear in the wrong places.

For what it’s worth, GSC GameWorld has not revealed the version they’ll be upgrading to. Will it be UE5.5? Or will it be a newer version? And what about performance? I guess we’ll find out once the update comes out.

A-Life now creates more believable behavior across the Zone. Living creatures have more places to go, while stalkers and mutants can fight over more campfires, bus stops, and other points of interest.

Stalkers will also loot dead bodies across the Zone, even when the player is nowhere nearby. This makes the world feel more active and alive.

The developers have also fixed many other game systems that were not part of A-Life but still affected how the world felt. These fixes include enemies shooting or throwing items through walls, areas becoming too crowded, and many other issues.

It’s also worth noting that Update 2.0 will add three types of binoculars. Moreover, it will add new weapons and scopes to use. Plus, it will add a new Fog system to the game.

In the fog, you and your enemies will see less and even hear less. Players can use it to their advantage to play things sneakily, or simply soak in the atmosphere it brings to the Zone.

Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!
