SEGA has released the official VS Battle gameplay trailer for its upcoming VF game, Virtua Fighter Crossroads. This trailer focuses on the VS Battle mode, which is our traditional arcade mode where two players fight each other.
Developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Virtua Fighter Crossroads uses Unreal Engine 5. By utilizing Unreal Engine 5, Virtua Fighter Crossroads will have enhanced character face rigs, improved post-processing, and high-fidelity lighting.
Virtua Fighter Crossroads promises to improve the series’ fluid gameplay. The game will feature the stylish combat fans know and love with even more realism, pushing the strategic depth of Virtua Fighter to new heights.
This trailer showcases some of the gameplay mechanics. For instance, we get to see some combos, grabs, and counters. During grabs, the camera will change to better showcase them. This is something we’ve seen in almost all 3D fighting games, like Tekken.
From what I can see, there are also some special sequences when finishing your opponent. Players can also use the game’s 3D world to sidestep and evade attacks.
Alongside the VS Battle Mode, the game will have a Story Mode. From the press material, this Story Mode reminded me the one for Street Fighter 6. Players will be able to explore a big city to uncover a host of side stories and quests tied to the people and places. They will encounter a variety of dramatic showdowns, from multi-opponent brawls to intense boss battles, seamlessly woven into the narrative.
There is currently no ETA for when Virtua Fighter Crossroads will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Enjoy the trailer!
