Square Enix has announced that DRAGON QUEST XII: The Flames of Fate has been renamed to DRAGON QUEST XII: Beyond Dreams. Moreover, the team shared a new video, featuring some in-game footage from the new version of the game. So, if you are a fan of the series, I suggest watching it.
Going into more details, DRAGON QUEST XII underwent a restart in development under a new structure. Alongside this change, the game’s logo has also been completely refreshed.
To accompany this announcement, messages from Yuji Horii, game designer, and Yosuke Saito, executive producer, have been released, along with in-development gameplay footage.
DRAGON QUEST XII was originally announced in May 2021. Back then, Square Enix and Epic Games stated that the game would be using Unreal Engine 5. So, it’s safe to assume that DRAGON QUEST XII: Beyond Dreams will still be using it.
There is currently no ETA for when this new DRAGON QUEST game will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Enjoy!
