Gears of War Reloaded feature

Gears of War: Reloaded Gets Official PC System Requirements

Microsoft has shared the official PC system requirements for the upcoming remaster of the first GoW game, Gears of War: Reloaded. So, let’s see what PC system you’ll need to run it.

Gears of War: Reloaded will have 4K assets. It will also have enhanced post-processing visual effects and improved shadows and reflections. MS also claims that there will be support for HDR, as well as for Dolby Vision & 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos. Plus, there will be zero loading screens during the campaign.

As I’ve already reported, this remaster will use the same 3D models as the Ultimate Edition. The devs didn’t update them. Because of this, the game’s environments can look blocky, and the characters might not look as good as expected.

Perhaps the best thing about GoW: Reloaded is its PC features and QoL improvements. For instance, the PC version will have support for ultrawide monitors and variable refresh rates. It will also come with a benchmark mode. Plus, there will be support for NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 and AMD FSR 3.1 from the get-go.

To run it, PC gamers will at least need an AMD Ryzen 3 (Four-Core) or Intel i5 Skylake with 8GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 480 / RX 5300, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 / 1050 Ti, or an Intel Arc A380. The game will also require 70GB of free disk space.

The devs recommend using an AMD Ryzen 5 (Six-Cores) or Intel i5 Coffee Lake with 8GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 5600 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / GTX 1660 Ti / RTX 2070.

As we can see, Gears of War: Reloaded will not require a high-end PC system. As such, it should run with high framerates on a wide range of PC systems. Now the big question is whether it will suffer from any traversal stutters. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition used Unreal Engine 3 and had a lot of problems on PC when it first came out. So, will history repeat itself?

Microsoft will release Gears of War: Reloaded on August 26th. You can also find some gameplay videos from its recent beta phase here.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. Had a lot of problems? It still does. They didn't fix a damn thing over the last decade. The game just sat there in the windows store broken as hell. The only time a game see fixed in modern day is when they at getting ready to rerelease. Therefore, you have to pay for fixes. These people are fuqin disgusting.

  2. As the comment below me pointed out, the current version is still broken as hell. All these "improvements" sound like what the current Ultimate Edition is ALREADY capable of, IF one were to actually be able to play it without problems. Only the Xbox version actually runs decently.

These are only "improvements" for the console crowd (now including PS players). 4K textures were already a thing with the MS Store PC version. Just won't do much good when the game's FPS already randomly drops to 30 regardless of settings and specs. The only thing this version will accomplish is hopefully actually being a working version.

  3. Just shows its a money grab and no work put in to the remaster Ryzen 3 and a GeForce GTX 1650.

    1. Funny thing is, they fixed absolutely nothing from Ultimate Edition, probably gonna introduce new bugs that weren't even in Ultimate Edition and on top of that they have the nerve to up the requirements of Ultimate Edition by double over a 2GB texture mod.

What else would you expect from mentally deranged tr󠀀an󠀀nies who work for JuDEIst subhumans and don't know how to code s󠀀hi󠀀t despite claiming to work in an industry where everything requires coding?

  5. Hey John, if you plan to analyze the peformance of this game, try to measure up to how it peforms compared to the Not So Ultimate Edition and the original GoW, be useful to your loyal fanbase.
