Halo Unreal Engine 5 Official WIP screenshots-1

The next Halo game will use Unreal Engine 5, and here are its first WIP screenshots

Microsoft has announced that the next Halo game will use Unreal Engine 5. MS also shared the first WIP screenshots, which you can find below. Keep in mind that these are early screenshots, so they don’t show the final quality of the game. However, they do give a good idea of what the devs are working towards.

Halo Infinite was built using the Slipspace Engine. According to reports, though, it had a lot of technical problems. Overall, the game went through a difficult and long development process. On top of that, the final version didn’t live up to the high expectations that 343 Industries showed in the early previews. So, make sure to keep that in mind while viewing the following shots. While they look impressive, the final game may not look anything like them.

Speaking of 343 Industries, Microsoft has renamed it to Halo Studios. As its new name implies, Halo Studios will be solely focused on creating new Halo games.

To showcase what is possible with UE5, Halo Studios created Project Foundry. Project Foundry is not a new game, nor a traditional tech demo. As the devs claimed, it isn’t just an exploration of what’s possible with this engine. Instead, it’s a true reflection of what would be required for a new Halo game using Unreal Engine 5. It’s also a training tool for how to get there.

Before closing, MS revealed that Halo: Infinite will get a third-person mode in November. This may please a lot of people who wanted to play that Halo game with a third-person camera. Truth be told, PC gamers could already play Halo: Infinite in third-person. However, it’s good to know that there will be now official support for it.

And that is that. Naturally, there is no ETA on when this new Halo game will come out. My guess is that it will target both next-gen and current-gen platforms. So, don’t expect to be playing it anytime soon.

Enjoy the screenshots and stay tuned for more!

  1. It probably makes it easier to hire developers who are already familiar with the language but I guess Im not sure if im supposed to be excited for a new Halo game strictly because of that. I had hoped for more single player content to be done with more friends but I guess thats just vapor now.

  2. Like Bioware as a whole, there hasn't been a good Halo game in about 15 years. I personally enjoyed Halo Reach, but many would say the last good game in the series was Halo 3. 343 itself hasn't made a single good game, why would I trust them to do it now?

    1. Ahahaha the creture in the center, its name is Mel(anin) Is A BOONe!!

Also, the chonky slant at the bottom does a soy face not even ten seconds into the video. Pack it up folks, Halo is done for.

      1. If Trump could just erase trash like them – send these POS Woke garbage in an express elevator to hell, as thats Where the abomination comes from!

          1. Halo Infinite did turn out to be better than Halo 3. for the record. bigger game (fact #1), more bosses (fact #2), better writing (fact #3), no visual downgrades to final release (fact #4).

    2. "Pansexuality is sexual, romantic, or emotional attraction towards people of all genders, or regardless of their s3x or gender identity."

I'm done with this world, mfkers are off their meds.

    3. would rather play the games first. i don't expect the developers look like the games they make. Amy Henig made classic games like Soul Reaver and Blood Omen.

  3. Great another game using an engine designed around fake tricks so they can pretend the consoles can do it. UE5 has no interest in pushing tech just spoofing things so they kind of work on limited AMD HW.

  4. People need to realize Corpos since 2020 are structurally and intentionally unable to make ART(good games/non-Prop). 2020 was a cultural revolution in the west and the Woke won. I've recently swallowed that pill in regards to Sony. PLUS another unique game engine dies to feed the Unreal beast.(still haven't played a optimized UE5 game).Sad.

  5. Just because you change the name doesn't mean your incompetence wash away, this is still 343 at the core. The focus on visuals repulses me, that was the lesser issue in their games (i still think the Halo 4 onwards art direction is awful).
Let Halo die already, having the audacity to remake CE makes it even worse.
