Dragon Age The Veilguard feature-2

New Dragon Age: The Veilguard video gives a glimpse at high-level combat

EA and BioWare have released a new video that gives us a glimpse at the game’s high-level combat system. Or at least that’s the devs claimed. And, thankfully, it does not contain any spoilers.

Going into more details, this video will teach you how to prepare for battle, the basics of combat, crowd control, combo detonations, and more.

Now the good news here is that you will be able to issue commands to your companions. You’ll also be able to pause time so that you can choose your cast abilities. So that’s at least good news.

To be honest, this combat video makes the game look good. I don’t know whether its story will be good. However, its combat mechanics appears to be great. Or at least that’s the vibe I got from the video.

In this new Dragon Age game, players will enter the world of Thedas, a vibrant land of rugged wilderness, treacherous labyrinths, and glittering cities steeped in savage combat and secret magics. Now, the fate of this world teeters on a knife’s edge.

Players will forge a courageous fellowship to challenge the gathering storm. Friendship, drama, and romance will abound as you bring striking individuals together into an extraordinary team. Become the leader and light the beacon of hope in their darkest moments.

EA will release Dragon Age: The Veilguard on October 31st. And, as we’ve already reported, the game will support Ray Tracing on PC. To be more precise, there will be support for ray-traced reflections and ray-traced shadows. Moreover, there will be support for NVIDIA’s DLSS 3 (though it seems that the game won’t support AMD FSR 3.0 FG).

Dragon Age: The Veilguard will not require an EA account. We already knew that it wouldn’t require the EA App, but it’s also good to know that you won’t have to create an EA account to play it. Linking your Steam account to your EA account will be completely optional. And, from what we know so far, it may not even have Denuvo.

You can also find the official PC system requirements here.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. The combat in this cancer of a video game is 100 times more tr4nny/ homosexual friendly than inquisition.
    Dead franchise, good riddance!

    1. You complain about almost every game is fagitt. why are you obsessed with fagitts mongrel? Are you trying to fight a demon within? You might as well admit you are a perv to. Your sh@tty life cant get any worse now mongrel. People cant hate you any more no matter what perv s@x you are having with your uncle. Are you angry because your uncle always wants to be on top? Are you angry because your uncle treats you like a b@tch boy?

        1. Mongrel didnt say anything about terrorism. He called another game fagitt. yes there is to much terrorism propaganda in games but mongrel dont care about anything but fagitts and hating on any who arent wasp. Now he needs to admit hes a damm perv and come out of the closet. its obvious that he takes it up the @ss hole.

      1. Nailed it!
I guess the thing to do is to leave and ignore this sorry, scared little boy alone. Evidently he relishes any kind of attention. He is so insecure it's sad acutally.

      1. Yes. I know. But it is still an excessive amount of purple for any game I can remember. Did Baldur’s Gate 3 have a lot of purple everywhere? I know that game had a lot of weird stuff in it.

  2. The combat looks serviceable. I think it won't be awful but like you mention it'll really need the story and questing to be something to special. With all the criticism they got on Inquisition and having a bunch of examples by this point they should put out a good game at the very least.

    1. Fellow gamer I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment. You have seen what Bioware has made with Inquisition, Anthem and Andromeda. I don't know how you can have any hope for a good game. I hope you will at least wait for feedback on Veilguard before spending money on it. I know that you can return it for refund it but the vast majority don't. They play it too long or they just hope it will get better with patches and mods but they end up with buyer's remorse usually.

      1. Thank you for the concern. Im doing my best to temper my expectations and will definitely wait for reviews. I think its that I’ve been holding off judgement for the better part of last year on the condition that they show more of the game play at least even though I’m pretty happy to see the series return. In my head I’ve already disassociated whatever modern Bioware is from the studio that even made Andromeda since it has been almost 10 years since then when that side studio got shuttered. I was so uninterested in anthem I totally forget the game exists since it was outside of their scope to make a live service looter shooter anyway. 3 times now they’ve gone further and further from Origins and I think the dream of them magically returning to that is kinda done and there are plenty of other great ones to play instead if I wanted to. So Ill definitely wait for previews, more reveals and of course reviews but Im just gonna be hopeful for the game as well.

        1. In this day no one should pre-order or grab a copy day one, its just begging to get disappointed – Few games and far between delivers, especially when it comes to the studios that have been replacing their skilled and motivated workers will religious zealots and didn't earn it hires – Very few of those studios make anything worthwhile.

Shame to see what happened to several memorable studios – Many are best kept in just that – Memory. As for gaming in general looking up unbiased reviews is the best way to go, refuse to spend a dime on crap – It only encourages more crap later.

Or as the war hammer word of wisdom say well – “Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.”

          1. For sure no pre-orders but I don’t think its terrible to be hopeful that the game turns out good lol. If its bad there’s metric tons of other games to play and be excited for. I’d agree with no day ones or early access but some games/studios definitely make it worth.

          2. That's such a sad way to look at it. If anything its just that there's been somewhat of an obscuring effect due to the sheer amount of games that come out every year. I've still found plenty to check out and enjoy every year from each tier of development but It does take some time to go out and research the titles instead of just buying whatever get blasted out via marketing campaigns. It also doesnt help that there seems to be a counter industry of grifters who farm hate engagement and rage bait for clicks against anything people generally get interested in.

  3. "Now the good news here is that you will be able to issue commands to your companions. You’ll also be able to pause time so that you can choose your cast abilities."
This is same as the last Dragon Age game 10 years ago. Nothing new under the sun. Lets hope it has decent story and mechanics to keep players entertained.

  4. This doesn't even look like an RPG.

    It's a real-time button-mashing spamfest.

Why does every other game nowadays need to be action combat for mentally challenged console players. Even RPG look like soulslikes nowdays.

Larian is the only developer that still knows how to make a classic PC RPG.

    1. And Spiders. See Greedfall 2 with tactical combat – which is something that EA and bEAware are afraid of.

Not to mention that the big circle UI is horrible in Veilguard. I dont understand who approved this crap.

  5. 1:44 x360 wnats its graphics back.

Seriously this is high level combat? Does not look any different than low level combat, who is this game made for?

  6. This ultra-woke POS has all the indicators of being the game-equivalent of the Crow reboot and the Rings of Power.
