Bloodborne already runs with over 200fps on PC via shadPS4

Gamescom 2024 is almost over, so it’s time to now focus on what has been happening this week with shadPS4. The team behind this incredible PS4 emulator has been making a lot of progress. And, from the looks of it, Bloodborne can now run with over 200fps on high-end PC systems.

Now as you will see, there are still major visual artifacts and glitches. Still, the game rapidly approaches a playable state. Sort of. Kind of.

Here is what I mean. At first, the game was constantly crashing after going in game. But now, you can even fight a boss. This is simply incredible progress.

So, below you can find three videos. The first video showcases Bloodborne running with an uncapped framerate. By unlocking the framerate, you can get to up to 200fps. And no, I’m not joking here.

Bloodborne was never meant to run at such high framerates. So, as the YouTuber pointed out, there are some speed/animation issues when the framerate goes beyond 120fps. However, for 60fps, everything appears to be working correctly. And that’s the best news in my opinion. Because, when shadPS4 manages to resolve all the visual issues, PC gamers will be able to enjoy the game at 60fps.

The second video shows off the game on different GPUs. This will give you an idea of how the game runs on weaker GPUs. And finally, the third video shows off the Cleric Beast Boss Battle.

I never thought we’d be able to play Bloodborne on PC in 2024. However, by the end of it, we might be able to. The game already boots and runs on its latest version. All the shadPS4 team needs now is to fix its visual issues. That, and make it more stable.

As I’ve already said, shadPS4 is also able to run Red Dead Redemption Remastered at 30fpsBy unlocking the framerate, you can also get it at 60fps. However, the 60fps unlock will double the game’s speed. So, let’s hope that the devs will figure out a way to make it play properly at framerates higher than 30fps.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. Note that emulator performance often decreases as the emulation becomes more accurate. Performance can be higher if various routines are not being emulated, which is clearly the case here with all the messed up graphics.

  2. Gamescom is over yet rockstart haven't announced the original red dead redemption for PC, what the hell is wrong with these cockstar games ?

    1. Their stance for PC on RDR and Sony's on Bloodborne are among the most inexplicable phenomena in gaming. Nintendo's continued prosperity too.

    1. Looks sh*ty like 99% of reshade profiles, the AO is too excessive and you can't make out any details.

The reshade off version is far from accurate it has no post processing enabled afaik, so it's gonna be way better when the emulation becomes accurate.

    1. I could have sworn that I blocked you ages ago. Ah yes, you created a new account so that we all need to block you again (63 comments).

  3. Pure hubris on SONY's part for not releasing this on PC yet. Soon everyone will be able to emulate it. Good riddance.

  4. still some work to do to get it done obviously but it's going fast which is good , sound compatibly emulation and shaders are the most difficult , and i think in the end 60 Fps will be the real target as emulating those will eat-up some ressources both CPU and GPU , and i think you'll need at least a 20 Tflops GPU and a lot of RAM and CPU power to really take advantage of this emulator to play at 1440p or 4K , but there is too little number of games that are actually exclusive to PS4 , everything is ported to PC right now at some point ……
