Although there is currently no official PC release date for Final Fantasy XVI, producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed that Square Enix will release a free demo. This free PC demo will be made available before the game releases. As such, PC gamers will be able to test their PC systems before purchasing it.
As Yoshida told GameInformer:
“We’re looking to release a demo for the PC version as well. Again, we can’t really talk about too much in terms of details of when it’s going to come out – I think in a little bit more time we’ll be in a better place to announce things. But one thing’s for sure: It won’t be too distant in the future; it won’t be a year, it won’t be two years, it will probably be shorter than that, so stay tuned.”
Yoshida claimed that the game is in its final steps of PC optimization. Square Enix is currently trying to figure out the PC specs that PC gamers will need to run the game.
“When we can release the PC version might be dependent on that – the system requirements and specifications for PC that players will need, so we’re trying to figure that out. Naturally, [the PC specifications] are looking to be somewhat high.”
Square Enix will reveal the official PC system requirements for Final Fantasy XVI when the game goes up for pre-order. Or at least that’s my assumption. When that happens, the publisher will also reveal its official PC release date.
If I had to guess, I’d say that Final Fantasy XVI will hit PC in the Summer (most likely late Summer). That, or we’ll get it in September/October. Realistically, I don’t expect it to come out sooner than that.
Now the good news for PC gamers is that in the next couple of months, we’ll get a few major triple-A games. Moreover, we’ll get two PS5-only games, Horizon: Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima. So yeah, a Summer PC release date for FF XVI seems to be the most likely scenario.

Depends on your taste for character design and art direction. The modern titles characters are more boyish looking than western games.

I preferred Chrono Trigger, just play that, it’s the mold for FFVII and every game since until XII and a much better game overall in gameplay and tone.
I’ve played FF3, FF4, FF4A, FF6, FF8 and FF7Remake. I’ve enjoyed all the ones I’ve played and I’ve heard this one feels a lot less like Final Fantasy than previous titles.
XVI is I think less gay than XV and less weird than the VII Remakes
this one certainly aims a bit more mature with tone and visuals than past FF games.

Lol, its crazy to see how much further people take a demo announcement past just interest. i’ll give it a try but I havent heard the best about this one compared to previous titles. I’ve been playing stranger of paradise and its a pretty quirky game in its own right.
