Take-Two has just announced Grand Theft Auto 6 for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X. Yeap, to the surprise of no one, GTA 6 will skip the PC at launch, and will release exclusively on consoles in 2025.
Now let’s be honest here, the writing was on the wall. I mean, I’ve hinted at this in my previous article. Ironically, the alpha build of GTA6 that was leaked in 2022 was for PC. So, Take-Two and Rockstar are intentionally delaying the game on PC.
Take-Two and Rockstar have not clarified why they have given PC gamers the middle finger. GTA 6 is a huge game, so it doesn’t make sense to skip the PC, right? Well, there is a catch here so keep reading.
You see, Rockstar has been constantly skipping the PC platform. And, like it or not, this strategy has paid off. Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5 were huge successes on PC. And yes, both of them skipped the PC at launch. So, why change something that works?
From a business perspective, it makes total sense to skip PC. Release the game on consoles, make a lot of money, and then release it on PC so that you can make even more profits. By doing that, some may even double-dip.
And, I’m going to be honest with you. PC gamers DESERVE to be treated like second-class citizens. If you didn’t like this attitude, you wouldn’t have made RDR2 and GTA5 huge commercial successes on PC. If you wanted to be treated as first-class citizens, you would have sent the appropriate message by not buying Rockstar’s games. But no, you had to buy those games. So, time to reap what you sow. Oh, and I can guarantee you. The moment the PC pre-orders go live, A LOT of PC gamers will pre-order it. And that says a lot.
So, there you have it. No GTA 6 for us PC gamers. But hey, don’t worry. You’ll get it in 2026 or 2027. You’ll still suck on Rockstar’s finger. And you will all like it. And that’s why Rockstar will keep treating you the way it does.

A lot of PC gamers that also have a console will double dip on this game just like before. Hell, some will even buy a new console just to be able to play GTA VI when it releases. Rockstar is arrogant towards PC gamers but they are very competent businessmen.
Not everyone that has a PC has a console too. All my friends dont, i also dont. I did get to play console games, from emulators lol. Games are system sellers, sure. I get that but at the same time, there are plenty of console gamers that refuse to buy a PC. The things they write lol, go check the PS5 forums. I also refuse to buy a console for 1 game, or even for 3 games. Even less a Playstation. Their games come to the PC now.
I quit buying Sony products when they started installing Root Kits on my PC for simply playing a Sony music CD. A whole lot of people got hacked because of Sony. Hackers would scan PCs on the Internet looking for PCs with the Sony Root Kit installed and then used the Root Kit as an attack vector. Last Sony product I had was a Trinitron CRT monitor and I got that used. (and was my last CRT monitor)

By 1996 I was on my 10th or so computer ….. My first I built from a partial kit (Altair 8800) when I was 17 in 1976. TRS-80 ,Apple 2e Commodore C=64, C=128, Timex-Sinclair, Amiga 500 and 2000 and several IBM compatibles 386 DX 486 DX-100 and by 1996 a Pentium. Got my first access to the internet in 1991 my first year of college for electronics engineering when the World Wide Web consisted of a couple of sites at CERN in Europe with the rest of the Internet comprised of Email, USENET and Gopher Servers.
My parents didn’t buy any of them for me although my Dad did buy an Atari 2600 and all 10 games it had when it first came out but I was already out of the house and on my own by then.

I didn’t feel the pull for V, a friend gifted it to me, i forced myself to play it and didn’t go past 3 or 4 hours… Characters and their cheap TV-like dramas have the charisma of a brick, they suck badly. This looks even worse, so no. Also tried the multiplayer and it was a disaster, automatically changing you between servers and breaking up my party with my friend. So, no.

I’ve been playing GTA since London, and i loved it. Always loved the freedom it offers. Then came the copy like sandbox games, but no one quite did it as well as the lawyer’s sons (Sam & Dan Houser). The attention to detail like the engine coolling down and so on always gave it a oomph that others like ubiscks never quite cared about. What does that tell you? The industry doesn’t care about the consumer and it’s always sub par. The Housers went the extra mile with each and every instalment. To me that looks like an overachiever and I really dig overachievers.
So yeah you can bash on it all you want and downvote the sht out of it but you have nothing to back it up. Just because u forced yourself to play it and you coulndnt play with your friend online that doesnt make it a bad game, not even by a mile. Whilst showcasing a Vulkan PC build, their publisher is aptly named “Take Two” and then some.
There’s a chance this won’t support the Vulkan API, even though it clearly performs better than DX12 in RDR2.
The first hint was the leaked alpha build, which clearly showed that it was running with DX12 on PC.
The second reason being that Vulkan was a late addition to RDR2, which originally only featured the DX12 renderer of the Xbox version on PC.
Only after Google paid a huge amount of money to Rockstar/2K for a port of RDR2 to their failed Stadia cloud gaming service the Vulkan API was added to the game out of necessity, because it had to run natively on Linux.
With Stadia gone for good, there is no more incentive left to maintain the Vulkan API inside RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine), even though it performs better than DX12, so expect Rockstar to just bring the renderer of the Xbox version on PC and call it a day…

The only reason they’re doing this is to make PC gamers buy the game twice and a lot of them will do that unfortunately. As for the trailer, it did the job although I find both GTA IV and V’s teaser trailers more effective. They had some narration going on to briefly explain the main character’s purpose in the world whilst showing off numerous landscapes from industrial zones to religious or other historical architectures.
Here we got less of that and a whole lot of degeneracy. Most of the shots focused on scantily clad women with inflated egos acting a fool, drunk and drugged up people partying or watering the plants whilst wearing nothing but speedos, crime-ridden ghettos and suburbs, etc. Not sure if I noticed any pleasant areas comprising of normal functioning people. I don’t know, I just think it lacks all the nuances which the previous games had in their teasers. Especially when comparing it to GTA IV. This series, like Western civilisation as whole, is regressing.
On a positive note, it does look pretty and I’m curious to see how next-gen this game will look and feel. I just know I’m going to have a lot issues with this title given all the social norms being forced on us today.

One thing you should note is that although China is being ran by a communist regime, their country has elements of capitalism that appears to be flourishing. Also, if it weren’t for the CCP they wouldn’t have taken 770 million people out of poverty within the last four decades. That there is a testament of how much their leadership cares for their people despite having that concerning power over them. Something like that is unheard of in any Western country or any country for that matter.
While China is eliminating poverty, the West is eliminating the middle class, widening the gap between the rich and poor. So keep telling me how communism is inherently a bad thing when there’s a country that’s almost entirely governed by it and is able to prosper without having to start a single war to do so unlike the US. I’ve seen plenty of unbiased videos showing the beauty of the country and it’s nothing like how the West portrays it.
Russia has produced a number of reputable products over the last couple of decades in various industries like gaming, movies and comics. If you don’t research these things you won’t know about it. But in the gaming industry they’ve made titles like Blades of Time, Birds of Prey, Birds of Steel, Apache: Air Assault, Escape from Tarkov and Atomic Heart. That’s not including their F2P games like War Thunder and Crossout which are solid IPs but with the usual problems that most F2P games have.
Communism has a bad track record for sure yet the one country that is ruled and thriving from it seems to be doing pretty okay when comparing to all the capitalistic ones. Africa is all capitalistic and clearly it’s doing nothing for them so that economic structure doesn’t guarantee success for everyone.
Sony just made a deal with a lot of Korean developers to partner on a lot of upcoming games. Like Stellar Blade.

Meanwhile NetEase has partnered with a handful of great Japanese talents like Suda51 and Toshihiro Nagoshi (creator of Yakuza) and they’ve expressed numerous times about how NetEase has given them plenty of freedom to be as creative as they can be without having to be constrained with time like before.

Yeah my expertise and knowledge doesn’t lie in economy. I never claimed I knew everything. You’re pointing it out like as if it’s some kind of gotcha moment when it really isn’t lol. I research about this stuff quite frequently and I do admit that I have plenty to learn but I am at least aware of the bare basics of how all the things I’ve mentioned can play a key role in all things economics.
The fact that you’re playing down every point I made and suggesting that none if means anything tells me that you probably don’t have much of a clue yourself on how this system works. You said that the cause of a recession is unpredictable when you know that’s not necessarily the case. If you were truly enlightened in this field as you made it out to be in an obnoxious and condescending manner then you’d know that any country’s handling of invests with little to no return, whether it’s through debt or other means, can contribute to negative outcomes, recessions being one of those. When you’re throwing away cash with no financial returns, as with the case in proxy wars, and you’re printing money to make up for the loss, which as a result causes the currency to lose its value the more you do it, then how does that not contribute to the dollar losing its strength? Even if it’s a minuscule impact you have to realise that this is a recurring pattern with America and their long history of colonialism and dealing with foreign affairs that has nothing to do with them.
Like you said, many things can play into it but I’m just looking at one aspect of it. Cryptocurrency is another one. It has a long road ahead to prove its worth and even I’m not 100% convinced by it at the moment. But if it were to gain more traction and to prove its reliability in the long run then people will eventually see the benefits it has over the dollar or any currency for that matter. It literally makes no sense in the modern age for any country to have an overwhelming reach in any field, especially in finance. Which is why I think for the US dollar to crumble would be a fantastic gift for the world and that a more decentralised currency (either from BRICS or crypto) to take over would be ideal an prospect for those hopeless countries that have been dead in the water for many decades or centuries.
I fail to see how a “recession isn’t bad” when the outcome is usually negative: the price of markets go up meaning people need spend more for their day to day commodities, causing the impoverished to suffer the most, companies having to go through trials and tribulations (filing for bankruptcies if they have insufficient resources to pay off their debts, firing employees to prevent themselves from going under, etc). It helps to reset the market eventually but not until all the negative effects play out. Once again, the GDP is a great indicator to show off how well a country is doing. China continues to grow; they’re creating tons of jobs, taking people out of poverty, advancing beyond most others in manufacturing and IT fields whilst innovating in the process.
Sure, they’re suffering downfalls but who isn’t? Every country has been dealing with increased hardships since the pandemic and for China, it’s obviously a learning process for them since it wasn’t that long ago when that they went from being one of the poorest countries in Asia to now the colossal giant that they are. Even African countries are leaning more towards them and feel inspired to imitate their workflow. This is why the GDP is a great indicator, albeit a rough one, that helps us to assess how well a country is doing financially. It doesn’t tell the whole story but when you see the list of countries that are declining, it doesn’t take much to observe why that may be the case.

Rockstar has not made a good game since san andreas, bully and manhunt, gta iv sucked, it was boring, max payne 3 was not max payne and was super scripted, felt like there was less gameplay in it than cutscenes and they bragged how there are no cutscenes. gta v was ok at best, didnt worth the wait to play it on pc, played it once, played a bit of mp, got disappointed how bare bones the game is and grindy, stop playing. I dont carea bout rdr, i am not into westerns but the first game was a western the second game had too much “modern” writing and feels anachronistic, half of those guns did not exist when the game takes place. Rockstar of the old is dead, they fired the guy who wrote the story which i never liked to be honest but it beats “modern writing” this trailer looks awful to me, main character is ugly, everyone is ugly and disgusting, is this what florida is nowadays? See joanna I didn’t support TT RS at all since EFLC disc I still have. Funnily enough I just went through that Vaas scene on my FC3 replay, great game to this day. Also replaying FC2 but for some reason it crashes consistently about 20-30mins into a session and of course very limited autosave in that game sucks.

I grabbed GTA V on PS3, because I was a poor college student who didn’t have a PC at the time. Eventually got it on PC during a sale. I skipped the console release of RDR2 and got that on PC in a sale also. I don’t think I’ll be playing GTA VI at all, I thought V was mediocre and my tastes have changed. I only played RDR2 because I love Westerns and we don’t get many games in that genre.

After GTA V i was done with the franchise (i find it boring and not memorable) and Rockstar, the last great GTA is the 4th one.
GTA VI I’ll see you in 2030 when hopefully its released on PC and had some time to (a) drop from a ridiculous price and (b) had the bugs worked out from all the idiots who buy it on day 1. I could never get the hang of gunplay with my thumbs on controllers anyway much prefer the more intuitive keyboard and mouse.

And, I’m going to be honest with you. PC gamers DESERVE to be treated like second-class citizens. If you didn’t like this attitude, you wouldn’t have made RDR2 and GTA5 huge commercial successes on PC. If you wanted to be treated as first-class citizens, you would have sent the appropriate message by not buying Rockstar’s games. But no, you had to buy those games. So, time to reap what you sow.
Here’s where this line of thinking falls apart: let’s say no one bought Rockstar’s games on PC. Wouldn’t this actually make Rockstar think that it isn’t worth porting their games to the PC since no one would buy it on the PC? So yeah, your logic makes no sense.
