Mortal Kombat 1 will release later this month and Warner Bros updated the game’s Steam store page, revealing that it’ll be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech on PC.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise as this is Warner Bros we’re talking about. However, the publisher has misled a number of its PC customers as it hadn’t included Denuvo on the Steam page when it started accepting pre-orders.
Now the good news here is that at some point in the future, Warner Bros will most likely remove Denuvo from Mortal Kombat 1. After all, this is exactly what happened with Mortal Kombat 11.
Mortal Kombat 11 came out on PC in April 2019. Then, in March 2022, Warner Bros removed the controversial anti-tamper tech from it. So yeah, this is something most PC-fighting fans should keep in mind.
Before closing, I’d like to point out that Mortal Kombat 1’s Steam store page now lists “Cross-Platform Multiplayer“. From what we know, Warner Bros and QLOC added this tag recently. Thus, it appears that the PC version will support cross-play.
Mortal Kombat 1 will release on September 19th. The game will be using Unreal Engine 4, and here are its official PC system requirements.
Stay tuned for more!

Not waiting at all. Story is not evolve.
fatality
So tired from this cancer tech.
useless as always
I’m shocked, I mean Nobody is gonna surprise since it’s very common for modern AAA gaming.
Bloatware game with bloatware DRM.
F*ck WB and Denuvo.
Goodbuy Fps hello Framtimes good buy purchase.
Fatality (for the sales)
Doubtful. 99% of gamers don’t give a damn about Denuvo. People like to whine and cry about it, but they’re just the loud minority. While Denuvo is an absolute joke, truth of the matter is that most people are not affected by it and thus don’t care.
Hell, a ton of gamers (and likely those responding here) are ignorant of how it even works and how little it actually impacts gaming if its implemented well (and usually is). It’s crazy that in a vast majority of cases Denuvo doesn’t affect gameplay at all.
Commenters here have already shown they just listen to whatever anti-DRM stuff gets posted without actually researching it first. DRM sucks, but very few actually known why.
They are about to make more then 70 million plus.
Nitendu version actually comes out before PC and Im curious to see will they do anything with their famous denuvo protection for emulation
Hard to kill what was already dead on arrival anyway. But that’s just me being overly optimistic that people won’t eat this turd up.
You are delusional. Like you know anything about the unreleased game. What a clown.
Hey way to be DAF.
I’ll never understand these fighting games, who’s highest appeal is online play, using this garbage cancerware for protection.
The online component itself, is better protection than this garbage. Do they find the single player shovelware they cram in to these games, to be “that” appealing? Baffling.
Yep, I try play Tekken 7 in the spirit of Tekken 3 nostalgia back in the day when it first released but get bored so fast. Many of the character are not there as a bonus to incentivise single player gamer, they hide as paid DLC
It’s probably epic vs steam cross play.
Ok. I wanted to buy it.
I’ll crack to test it instead, then I’ll delete it.
I’ve been boycotting buying games infected with Denuvo for the last 4 years
The crack probably wont come that fast, except if you pay Empress 500$ to crack it specifically or just try to crack it yourselves and share with us if its a succeed
About the Denuvo being in the game, I don’t care. I really don’t. Do I like Denuvo? No. Only thing I care about is cross play.
