Cyberpunk 2077 Path Tracing Overdrive

Cyberpunk 2077 Path Tracing Overdrive with 100+ mods running on an NVIDIA RTX 4090

YouTube’s ‘Digital Dreams’ has shared a video, showcasing Cyberpunk 2077 running in Path Tracing Overdrive with over 100 mods on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090.

In order to capture this gameplay footage, the YouTuber used an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090. Additionally, Digital Dreams used the Superpopulation Mod for CP2077.

DLSS 3 appears to be working ideally in CP2077. At first glance, you can’t even tell what mode is being used. Hell, some of you may not be able to even distinguish it from native 4K. Yes, at times DLSS Performance can look THAT good.

So, while the YouTuber has not clarified, we can assume that he has used DLSS 3’s Performance Mode (or even Ultra Performance) with Frame Generation. After all, the NVIDIA RTX 4090 runs the default PT Overdrive Mode with an average of 68fps in 4K with DLSS 3 Quality.

Cyberpunk 2077 with its Path Tracing Overdrive Mode looks absolutely stunning. And, to be honest, you don’t have to install any mods to it. However, if for some reason you want to, you can go ahead and download the list that Digital Dreams used from here. Just note that some of them will further increase the game’s already high PC requirements.

Speaking of Cyberpunk 2077, we also suggest taking a look at these other mods for it. The Rebalance Megamod attempts to overhaul numerous aspects of the game, such as the AI, armors, perks, melee, player stats, weapons and more. You can also download an Enhanced Photo Mode Unlocker. Furthermore, there is a cool Deus Ex/Dishonored-inspired Stealth Mod. And lastly, this mod adds a flying mechanism to all cars, whereas these mods unlock/introduce other explorable areas.

Enjoy!

    1. Correct, that’s a mod. But if you haven’t played Cyberpunk 2077, then you might be surprised to find out that they have a number of lewd ads in the game. That being said, they aren’t even remotely “tasteful”, but are more along the lines of crude than anything. I actually use a mod to censor the NSFW ads just because I can’t stand most of them.

    1. Yeah I was wondering as my 4080 only uses around 11-12gb of VRAM at 4K, DLSS 3 and DLSS 2 Quality.

  1. I thought it would look better still blury in the distance and you can see pop in on most sighns and walls the sharpness is worst though.

    1. honesty ray tracing in the feature is gonna be seen as a stupid gimmick effect that ruins performance and no one uses anymore like bloom or super sampling or physx. It is not a solution to better lighting.

      1. Path tracing is the future
Devs already want to get rid of rasterization and adapt path tracing, but currently hardware is limiting them.

Rasterization just makes development harder and takes a longer time.
Path tracing already gets awesome graphics out of the box,
Also its fully dynamic and doesnt have the limitations of rasterization.
You can even have higher amount of polygons without much performance lost

        1. Amen. It’s unfortunate how gamers look at everything they can not afford as a gimmick. In a few years, when the most popular gpu becomes a 3070 or 4060/ti instead of the current leader(3060), (and when consoles release that have hardware that can actually run ray tracing,) we will stop hearing the term gimmick. Though, for the ps6/xs_ to catch up RT hardware, AMD is going to have to actually start taking it seriously. It’s like they don’t realize that traditional rendering really doesn’t matter anymore in the high end. Unless consoles implement their own RT hardware, or go with nvidia, then AMD really needs to shape up, because their flagship $1000 gpu can’t even keep up with high end 30 series gpus.

Path tracing has been used for decades because it is the best lighting tech out there and it saves the artist/dev/tech months of work. Movies have been using RT for a long time.

          1. Or perhaps you can be like me and be able to afford buying the newest cards in bulk and still realize that it’s all a scam and that there are 20-year-old games using more tried and true methods of rendering scenes and generating lighting that look better than some of the horsecrap coming out today.

          2. I mostly agree, but path tracing or even hybrid rt can be part of the solution

      2. It would make sense if you came across as having some knowledge on the subject. However I do agree RT drops FPS, but I’d choose 120 looking good over 200 looking like console / mobile every time.

WTF happened to PC MASTER RACE???

        1. They spent so much time to “get gud” at Dark Souls that they failed to get good at their profession and can no longer afford the top tier

PC gaming is my second most expensive hobby, $1600 won’t even get me a decent new 9.9 HP outboard motor much less a 50 HP that I have on my boat and I just bought a new finder/chartplotter that cost me $1500

          1. I chuckled when I realised I spend ~£1200 per annum chucking seed at wild birds in the backyard. During the hot spell I turned the water hose towards a couple wood pigeons for them to raise their wings in appreciation. ~10 minutes they sat in their custom shower. Worth every penny.

        2. WTF happened to PC MASTER RACE???

In the past, you could build a PC that would beat a console for $500.

Now you need a $1,000 PC.

Steam survey shows the average PC gamer has a 4GB 1650. The average PC gamer has a PC that is spec’d below a PS4 Pro.

          That’s what happened.

        3. WTF happened to PC MASTER RACE???

Steam survey shows the average PC gamer has a 4GB 1650. The average PC gamer has a PC that is spec’d below a PS4 Pro.

No one but a very select few are doing “raytracing”. Outside of that wealthy 1%, no one cares about raytracing, it’s an expensive gimmick.

          1. Again then, WTF happened to PC MASTER RACE? Peasants complaining about pricing rather than getting an education and job?

          2. Has nothing to do with “education” or “getting a job”.

Raytracing a reflective puddle isn’t worth paying $800 for a GPU, simple as that.

Raytracing is terrible bang for the buck. It’s an $800 gimmick.

So people stick with the exisinting PC hardare they have, and spend their money on other things.

          3. That’s you just showing ignorance and so again, WTF happened to PC MASTER RACE?

          4. Translation: I’m a r**ard who has no concept of the value of a dollar and frivolously waste my government check on stupid toys. MUH PC MASTER RACE

          5. Ah the old “I’m a peasant” argument. Well truth be told I don’t give a f*ck…

          6. Truth be told you should just tie a rope around your neck and jump off a stool you fu**ing fa**ot.

          7. Lol. Wealthy 1%, that’s funny. It’s clearly not a gimmick. The only people claiming so just can’t afford to run it yet. It is a LOT more than 1% that have a 3080/ti, 3090/ti, 4070-4090.
Nothing breaks immersion like a game without RT, or a game with poor RT(many amd sponsored games. Hope this changes with starfield)

This is like when console players talk bad about ray tracing because they havent actually experienced it. Try cyberpunk or dying light 2 without ray tracing. If you tell me it doesn’t make a difference, ill tell you that you’re blind. It brings dying light 2 from looking gamey with terrible assets to extremely realistic. How about portal and quake?
            You gu

          8. Actually true.
I haven’t touched Cyberpunk, but the RT in dying light 2 makes it look 100 times better.

        4. Implying that you can even tell the difference between RT on and off in the majority of cases. That is, if you’re actually playing the games and not just comparing screenshots on the internet like most of you Pc MaSTeR rAcE tend to do.

      3. Raytracing was born out of a need for better lighting solutions after all the practical lighting tech has been dropped from engines in exchange for more inferior methods. A solution in search of a problem, except the problem was created artificially so people could justify their jobs and sell new GPUs to all these kids too naive and stupid to realize they’re being fleeced.

    2. The TAA (Temporal Anti-Aliasing) causes the blurriness. You can use mods to turn it off, but after an update late in 2022 doing so started causing graphical glitches with fog and possibly clouds (probably due to shaders that require a temporal pass that’s supplied by the TAA). I play with TAA off anyway because I despise it, and I just live with the issues. I don’t notice them most of the time.

  2. It looks like an oil painting…
Also, it’s not in HDR? The game had native HDR support, YouTube has HDR video support, and the free (open source) OBS Studio game/screen recording software has HDR support so why on Earth is the video not in HDR? Someone dropped the cash on an RTX 4090 and didn’t bother getting an HDR monitor?

  3. Will be interesting to compare CP2077 with Starfield. Will we still have the PC MASTER RACE argue ‘console graphics are great coz bro open-source?’,

Thartist and Yeltnerb1, are you buying Starfield? I ask as you know it’s not open-source, right?

Always good to laugh at the downvotes.

  4. I don’t see… Much… Like… It doesn’t drive me crazy… idk, you know what i mean?…
It looks too designed, too clean, colorful, shiny, even bloated, and intentional, videogamey, like a model… Meaning, for all the wild mode raytracing plus 100 mods and how demanding it is, it doesn’t say ‘wow the future of graphics’ nor it’s realistic to me.

  5. imagine an aaa game making you play as nothhing but a loser in a sh**ty degenerate futuristic setting that would everyone hate

  6. This game has the worst design ever.
Back in the 80s, movies/comics artists had real talent and could create coherent worlds which made sense, with realistic design.
Nowadays, “artists” just put randomly everything they can think of together and it looks like a messy piece of trash.

Put a bright blinding purple neon light even if it clashes with other sources of light, dress up that woman with stitched pieces of multi-colored fabrics, make the cars look weird and as if a 5 year old kid had been asked to draw “futuristic cars”…
Hell, even the city’s urbanism doesn’t look coherent at all.
Buildings look like Unity assets put randomly together. 🤣

What the… Look at that mothaf**** at 4:18 and his messed up umbrella. What the hell is that? Why would an umbrella ever look like that?
    It doesn’t even make sense.

I just realized something. This game looks like it’s been created by A.I.
Or some LGBT freaks on acid.

These mods… Actually make the whole thing look even worse, highlighting everything which was wrong in the first place.

  7. LOL, 20 seconds in and already you can see an NPC bumping into stuff, and cars unable to evade traffic.

The very definition of the phrase ‘you can’t polish a turd’.
