Single-player magic FPS, Immortals of Aveum, delayed by a month

Ascendant Studios has announced that its single-player magic FPS, Immortals of Aveum, has been delayed by a month. Originally planned for a July 20th release, the game will now come out on August 22nd.

According to the team, this extra month will give it time to further polish the game, and finish optimizing all platforms. Basically, it’s the exact same excuse we’ve been hearing in all of the recent video-game delays.

In Immortals of Aveum, players will experience this visceral and cinematic, story-driven game through the eyes of Jak. Jak will join an elite order of battlemages, master all three colors of magic – blue, green, and red – and decimate legions of enemies with clever chained attacks and well-timed counters.

The game will be using Unreal Engine 5, and will take advantage of both Nanite and Lumen.

Lastly, you can find here its official PC system requirements.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. I have a 99% feeling that this will be one of those gaymes by these lazy AF Jewish companies where the developer will release an unoptimized and unplayable mess at launch, issue an apology for its brain dead conSOOOOOMers, promises to “work hard” on fixing it and will actually fix it a year or two later. Welcome to (((current year)))!

  2. When are you gonna talk about ‘TREPANG2’. Or do you only talk about the stuff you get paid to talk about. This one is in Unreal Engine, so you should be fraughting over it. Finally a good indie shooter that isn’t pixilated to death. Instead all I see here is battlefield updates and whatever this dead on arrival thing is. C’mon John people needs to know that there is a world outside of DLSS, Unreal & SH*T.

    1. Can’t agree more. DSO becomes a total hell everything is about unreal, 8k textures, the same news about the same games everytime (cyberpunk, star wars, call of…) News about indie games is forbidden. but in the end i can’t blame john, it’s too much to handle for one person.

      1. It is FUQING good man. Old School fun, no story to care about. Just a video game from start to finish. You can pull off some crazy stunts too. I hope you get it soon & enjoy.

  3. RIP to this game then. Releasing in July kind of gave it a shot.

Both Baldur’s Gate 3 and Starfield come out late August / early September though, followed by the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC, so I don’t know that it stands a chance with that new release date.

Then again, Immortals looks like more of a magic shooter than an actual RPG, so maybe there’s a different audience that won’t be playing those games.

    1. It’s likely being sent out to die, going up against huge games. EA might want to do a hostile takeover of a studio on the cheap, the same way they likely did to Respawn after Titanfall 2 flopped (i.e. had a similarly sabotaged launch, by being sandwiched between CoD and Battlefield 1).
