Microsoft and Bethesda have shared a new in-engine trailer for Starfield. This trailer features a few gameplay scenes, and numerous in-engine flythrough sequences. We also expect Bethesda to reveal more gameplay footage during its Starfield Direct Showcase. Thus, we’ll be sure to update this story with any new gameplay videos the teams share.
Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios. In this next-generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, players will be able to create any character they want and explore with unparalleled freedom as they embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.
According to the devs, Starfield will have over a hundred systems and over one thousand planets. And, as you may have guessed, you will be able to freely explore all of those planets.
Microsoft will release Starfield on September 6th!
UPDATE:
Here is the gameplay deep dive video!

Nice i cant way to play another generic crap game in gamebryo engine hidden under “new engine”
But now moonwalking npcs will be normal since we in space
Looks like Fallout 4 with mods e reshade stuff.
And Fallout 4 already looked like Fallout 3 with mods.
It just works. (He meant extorting money from the simple minded)

Honestly this game is like bethesda made fallout 4 in space and copied no mans sky planet generation and dog fighting while copying the visual style of star citizen and elite dangerous.
I like how realistic the lighting looks, but notice how there is always volumetric fog so you cant see far away and all the planets look like a barren desert, nothing makes me want to explore more than seeing an empty barren background. Right?
The weapon design is so generic, some p90, a double barrel shotgun, a vektor, a m1911 and a ak74, like really? What happened to weird energy weapons? If you go back to early to mid 2000s you got interesting sci fi weapons? What happened? “oh but they want to make it more realistic” sure but in that case why make it a rpg with bulletspongy enemies? We know for a fact that the actual role playing in the game will be really low, at times i looked at the sniping outpost clearing and i was saying “is this the new far cry game in space?” This is what it feels like, every game now looks the same. Speaking of which the hud is so simplistic its like a toddler drew a bunch of lines, it does not draw the eye, it has no unique areas on it, everything is white letter boxes.
The fascination with realism has even removed the aliens and you only fight humans, but then again you got this unrealistic idea that in the future white people will be near extinct and every character will be a brown woman, seriously the entire xbox show was brown woman shows game starring brown woman followed by trailer about brown woman. Jeez. They mention that they got for a cinematic look and yeah the game looks like the expanse and interstellar looking at vasco. The ship designs look generic ugly and samey, i didnt expect them to be this big, you telling me the fighter starting ship is bigger than my house? Damn. I guess this game will leave on die on 2 things, having a good main campaign, which i doubt, its bethesda or the modding scence, since this is skyrim for space nerds.
Unreal to think that spacebourne 2 is made by one guy and has most of these features.
Overall i approach this game as beggars cant be choosers, i like sci fi, i dont like medieval fantasy, its so overdone and the mod support will make this game worth it in the long term. Also no crappy third person shoulder camera. Hopefully it wont be a unmitigated disaster on release.
Oh and one last thing, vlad looks russian, he even wears the russian marine blue undershirt. But he is black. Considering starfield dropped russian language support, seems to me they made vlad as a white russian and they made him black and dropped russian language support out of spite for the war in ukraine. Just laughable. Ex pirate turning good guy….and nope russians are bad again, lets make him black. Would be better if they kept him russian and then the more you interact with him you find out he is actually ukranian, but hey its bethesda we are talking about that thought bringing back the annoying fan from oblivion was a good idea, like these people are proud of that cringe. Speaking of which he looks more human than most of the characters in the game. How do you manage that bethesda?
Also yes we all know the big reveal that the artifacts are from an alien race that will make an appearance in the game. I just wished they hired a competent sci fi writer to write the story instead of bethesda lobotomized monkeys who call themselves writers.
looks great actually
They make Starfield sound really good, but it’s still Bethesda so who knows if what they’re saying is actually true. Hopefully it’ll be as good as it sounds from their videos.
Feels generic and repetitive.
Considering how ALL western production was lethally converged into wokeness / left wing ideology, this (or Zelda) is probably GOTY 2023.
Left to be seen if wokeness ruined this too ? Skyrim had already feminism present with so many stronk whamen, yet it was not the clown and ma’am fiesta we know today, and fallout 4 was quite ok too.
The question is, did Bethesda continued on their path, with slow incremental improvements. Or did they gave the clowns the keys of the truck ? I think the former, but we’ll see.
Not promising at all!
So, the atmosphere is beautiful, the core systems look deep enough, and there’s exploration stuff that hmmm they didn’t show much depth on them…
Question is: Does it all tie together into a memorable experience, or is it an ocean of forgettable activities and grind?
I suspect it’s a bit better and slightly deeper this time, but it might also devolve into “Raid this samey procedurally generated outpost” for the millionth time, or “Travel to that planet and talk to this dude about this fluff”… We’ll see how it goes.
