A couple of days ago, NVIDIA released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA GeForce 531.79 WHQL driver offers optimal performance in Redfall and Diablo 4’s Server Slam Weekend.
Moreover, this new driver fixes a crash issue on the RTX30 series GPUs that could occur in Battlefield 2042, The Last of Us and Unreal Editor. It also resolves an issue that affected the Asus VG27WQ and Acer XV253Q monitors.

I installed this driver update last night, and it seems to have fixed my frequent crashes in Cyberpunk 2077. I was able to play the game for a couple of hours without crashing every few minutes.
If you were doing RT/Framegen it looks like it lowered VRAM in most games. Frame gen and RT both take VRAM. I had the same problem with Ultra + textures in Witcher 3 on a 4070. Was fine on the 4090.
I have an RTX 3070 Ti so no frame generation, and raytracing is such a huge performance hit that I refuse to use it (especially since it’s effect on visuals is minimal at best). I also have the graphics mostly on low, and don’t have any mods installed that eat large amounts of VRAM. I also have TAA disabled, which means I also can’t enable DLSS or FSR.
Redfall is going to need a lot more than a driver to fix what is wrong with it.
They never learn, still repeating the same Live Service mistake.
I had to close LatencyMon after a while with those drivers, holy crap, NVIDIA does have a problem here :D.
Yeah its to the point where some rigs start to get audio stutters… and in not even talking about hq recording that’s normally the most time critical…
Bet most have noticed this in game streams… where the audio have some jitter and this is most likely the cause and nvidia seems to be unable to fix it considering how long its been on their list
Since I don’t play any of these games this update is unnecessary for me … skip
I don’t care about any of those games…but also, I started using Studio driver now.
