The team behind the amazing Nintendo Switch emulator, Yuzu, has released a new Early Access version of it. According to the release notes, build 3527 can improve performance by 50% in games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 3.
Additionally, this latest version of the Nintendo Switch emulator reduces RDTC overhead by 50%. This can result in up to 5% better performance in CPU-bottlenecked games.
It’s also worth noting that Yuzu can now run faster the 4-player mode of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Not only that, but the emulator fixes a timer issue with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Since Yuzu can now run faster Breath of the Wild, we might get an amazing performance in Tears of the Kingdom. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, it’s assumed that TOTK uses the same engine with BOTW. If that’s the case, Yuzu will be able to run this new Zelda game on launch day.
There is currently no ETA on when this latest build will leave Early Access. Naturally, we’ll be sure to keep you posted. Until then, enjoy the following videos!

Now this I like. Unless nintendo starts releasing games for PC too, I’ll just emulate every single one.
They do seem to shoot themselves in the foot as many such as myself would have purchased BOTW for PC yet end up pirating to play via an emulator.
Same here , Nintendo Switch console does not sell in India?? and indonesia?? so I’ll emulate every single on of them because they left us no choice
They do release it on PC. You just have to buy the Switch version, put the box of the game on your PC, then download and run its rom in Yuzu.
Or just pirate it.

This new Yuzu EA version, where is it ? Linking to emulators is legal or Johnny scared again ?
just doing a quick google search will reward you millions, you know ?
I know! Thats not the point here, is it ?
Depends. But I’m sure everyone aware of this site is already familiar with mods, emulators, torrents and fixes.
why are zoomies so cringe? Look at Legends of Zelda. wtf is this unicorn vomit. how can they immerse themselves in this garbage. you truly need to be mentally ill or a severe drug addict to enjoy literal Whimsyshire from Diablo III for 100 hours or more
which has better performance, this or Cemu ?
CEMU by far
For BOTW 1 you play with CEMU. It emulates a much weaker Wii U and it uses some FPS increasing tricks that gets you 60 FPS even on low to moderate rigs.
BOTW 2 we will be lucky if Yuzu patches it to do a steady 30. Will prob have 20 FPS lows on Switch at 720p. Ryujinx is usually better out of the gate with new games, but Yuzu has highly specialized patches. So on launch day Ryu is prob best bet to get even close to 30 and who knows if that will even happen. This game will probably leverage the tiny Nvidia GPU and ARM CPU they have more than ever.
Zelda Tears of the kingdom will run at 30fps and a resolution of 900p. Some have noticed it might use some dynamic resolution to raise it a bit.
Makes sense as open world games are never the same load on the CPU /GPU in any given scene.
Wohoo best of news!
Cant wait to play the new Zelda in glorious 4K!
All love to team Yuzu. Best emulator by far!
Stop spreading false hopes to 80% of the people who don’t have high-end PC’s by saying “Best emulator by far hurr hurr” , its clearly far from it if we compare it to Ryujinx
That’s not right. You need to look at individual game compatibility.
(foreword: I have nothing against emulation, emulated whatever you want)
The reason Nintendo is selling millions of Switch consoles, but Steam Machines and Steam Deck are dead in the water, is because most people have a life.
Half the games, including emulated games, don’t work on Steam Deck. For the ones that do work, you have to tinker a lot to make many work. All the games with DRM won’t work regardless, and since it’s Steam, many have DRM.
Nintendo Switch has Zelda, and it works great on Switch, but it is a messy affair on other platforms.
The Asus Rog Ally running Windows might sell better if games work properly on that platform.
Um. BOTW runs at 120+ fps on my PC at 4K.
“works great on Switch” = 30fps and 900p in docked mode.
Oh yes, you need “120 fps and 4k” for an action-adventure now
judging by the massive sales (30+ million copies, outselling every game on PC), no one cares
“Oh yes, you need “120 fps and 4k” for an action-adventure now”
It’s not a matter of need, it’s a matter of possibility, my PC can, your Switch can’t, which makes your earlier comment totally irrelevant, and yes it looks way better at high resolutions and plays better at 60+fps.
Nintendo has army of dumb toxic fanboys that are nothing but man childs
that are the easiest cash cows to milk, on this planet.
They will buy anything with “Nintendo” logo, yes even horse sh*t.
Just look at Pokemon games, every newer release is even more broken, uglier and barebones than previous games, yet those fools buy those game because they are dumb lemmings, full of nostalgia and are bounded to the franchise.
The same is with Zelda, last good Zelta hmm… Ocarina of Time? But Majora Mask and Skyward Sword are better than BOTW.
In the end BOTW is a mid action&adventure game and a terrible rpg game, overhyped by Nintendo fanboys and d-raiders.
Seriously, is there a particular reason why you are such a pathological liar?
As the local Linux guy around here, I feel the need to call you out, unfortunately:
First of all, single-player games with DRM are absolutely running fine on the Steam Deck, even the ones with Denuvo such as the recent remakes of Dead Space & Resident Evil 4.
And even though it’s very much a first-gen product, the Steam Deck has the handheld PC market already cornered, because none of Valve’s competitors can afford to sell their devices at a net-loss, like Valve has done by selling the cheapest Steam Deck option at just 360 $ during the recent Steam sale.
Combine that with the fact that Windows 11 is a poor match for a handheld PC running on a battery [similar to Windows Phone on smartphones, still remember that one?], and I’m afraid there is simply no way for any OEM competitor to compete with Valve strictly from a value for the costumer perspective!
(And please don’t lie again by saying that you are willing to spend 999+ $ on the ASUS ROG Ally…)
The BOTW footage you linked runs at 30 FPS on a high end rig and still stutters. Beautiful.
did you see it earlier?
Did you see CEMU running it at many, many times that performance?
New Yuzu EA version improves performance by 50% in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Beware , Yuzu will brick your PC and i don’t recommend anyone to use this emu if you have a low-end PC or in most cases the brick is random , this emulator is made for Mid-High-end PC’s and it requires at least 12 Cores CPU and 32 RAM , this is just a marketing stunt to get more patreon subscribes before Tears of Kingdom release , Ryujinx sh^ts all over this dogshit emulator that bricks PC’s for no reason
Lol, I used on my potato pc, it didn’t brick it
What exactly does that mean???
It means brick his mind
Ok Karen. I just played Mario Odyssey at 4k on Yuzu in a tiny MITX box next to my TV on a 5600x with stock fan and a 4070. My previous GPU in the MITX was an underclocked VEGA 56 to about 180 watts and it did 1440p/60 perfectly.
Ryujinx DOES have a place and it’s usually better with a new game release, but Yuzu gets patched a month later and usually beats it by quite a bit.
The only thing dumber than the Console Wars are the Emulator Wars …..
Get a life Bro ……
>Nintendo employee
Nice try.
Unless I’m missing something here, I’m getting the same performance numbers on this build and a couple newer builds, same as older builds. 50%? That’s definitely a bold claim.
“New Yuzu EA version improves performance by 50% in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”
So how does it stack up against CEMU now?
CEMU wins just for the mods, it still runs better obviously.
Don’t assume that Tears of the Kingdom will run the same because it’s the same engine. Hello Neighbor and Hello Neighbor Hide and Seek have the same engine, but the latter is unplayable while the former runs perfectly fine. I can’t seem to get any answers why this is, so it’s safe to assume there’s more to it than the engine itself.
I play BoTW on Cemu, its already perfected there and have many community patch to increase resolution, frame rate and improved graphics
