Capcom restores the missing Ray Tracing options from Resident Evil 2 Remake & Resident Evil 3 Remake

Last week, we informed you about a bug that disabled the ray tracing settings from the PC versions of Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake. And today, Capcom issued a new update that restores these RT options on PC.

This latest hotfix does not include any other fixes, tweaks, changes or improvements. Still, it’s good that Capcom reacted so quickly and restored these RT settings.

As we’ve already reported, Capcom will be sunsetting the DX11 versions of RE2Remake, RE3Remake and Resident Evil 7. Thus, from July 2023, these three games will only support the DX12 API.

As always, Steam will download this hotfix the next time you launch its client.

Have fun!

    1. Dx 11 version will be playable from beta branch, this article is confusing, i think they will stop supporing the Dx11 versions but we will still be able to play these Dx11 versions from a Beta branch

  1. Why can’t they fix zombies animating at 30fps? It’s so distracting. I’d rather have unlimited FPS on everything over silly ray tracing.

  2. How’s the performance without RT? Most normal gamers don’t care if it’s DX11/12, as long as the performance is around about the same.

    1. Worse than the old DX11 versions by all accounts. If you don’t want to use RT (Or the DLSS mods which I don’t think support the old version.; shame) then just use the beta tab to install the original versions. They run better. Some of the old versions supported DX12 already but they also ran much worse.

  3. Funny how they fix this but don’t fix Jill in RE3 Remake and Ashley’s skorts in RE4 Remake. Capcom really are a bunch of pathetic virtue signalling feminists.
