Dead Island 2 Official PC System Requirements

Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios have revealed the official PC system requirements for Dead Island 2. Additionally, the teams have confirmed that the game will only support AMD FSR, and that there won’t be support for NVIDIA DLSS 2 or Intel XeSS.

For gaming at 1080p with 60fps, Dambuster recommends using an Intel Core i9 9900K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X with 16GB of RAM. The team also recommends using an AMD Radeon RX 6600XT or an NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super. Furthermore, the game will require 70GB of free hard-disk space.

For gaming at native 4K/Ultra, Dambuster suggests using an Intel Core i7 13700K or an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X with 16GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 6950XT or an NVIDIA RTX 3090.

Dead Island 2 is coming to PC on April 28th, and will release exclusively on Epic Games Store.

Deep Silver has already provided us with a review code, so expect a day-1 PC Performance Analysis article for this title!

    1. If Steam didn’t rip off developers by taking a 30% cut they would be on Steam.

Anyway, I’m sure there’s some anime weeaboo simulator crap on Steam people can play instead.

      1. the game is on the epic store because timmy tencent paid, it doesn’t make sense to publish only on a store made up of bums who don’t buy anything and just want free games LOL

        1. Oh, it’s Gabe Newell himself replying. Disqus should make a bigger avatar window so your fat face can properly fit.

          1. They got paid by Epic to have a temporary exclusivity on the Epic game store I don’t have all the deets and for how long the deal is but it’s not like the first time Epic has splurge some of that Fort Nite money to get a few temp exclusives like Hitman 3, Kena, Saint’s Row Reboot and few more possibly for 6 months up to 2 years depends on the deal.
I would actually prefer them to be on GOG and no I am not a dirty pirate I just don’t like logging in or opening up a launcher before I get to play my single player games.

          1. you get confused with epic fail store since the games don’t sell sh*t lol on steam instead they make record sales now cry double lol

          2. Nah i’m not taking any sides i was just messing with you and it worked. Jokes on you for a second time lol

    2. Wow, such a low standard because Epic or Steam both are not worth place to buy game from, we have to set higher standard where it should have been on GoG or no buy…

      1. GoG or no buy lol ? then keep waiting an eternity for 90% of good triple AAA games. Say whatever u want to say but steam is 10x better then other platforms, where i live games on gog cost more then what i pay on steam even on discount due to regional pricing. Also steam has many other useful features. Minority like you will always keep on crying but majority people will always prefer steam

    1. it’s epic store exclusive, so it will probably be a flop and a bad game, metro exodus times are already over LOL

  1. Even tho I have claimed every free game EGS has given. I still have yet to want to use their launcher at all. I can’t see myself ever buying a full price game on there. I rather just not buy it at all. Which doesn’t make a ton of sense, but at the same time it does

    1. I think I have 13 games from them but have never actually paid for one …. I avoid all launchers if I can avoid it although Steam doesn’t really give you any option. With the single exception being GOG, launchers = DRM

      1. Cant be more agree, imagine we are buying a car, but have to go to the dealer and showing receipt every time we want to drive. Remember, donate to Steam or EGS (pay whatever you want whether by buying key or wait for cheap sales) , but buy game only from GoG where your game is yours to keep and play whenever you want it.

  3. Oh boy another frigging zombie/Walking Dead game ….. Someone needs to come up with some new ideas, fighting zombies was wore out by 1999

  4. Funny how each ‘preset’ requires better CPU even though they target the same 60fps, lol, I can see sh1tty optimization already. Also:

“the teams have confirmed that the game will only support AMD FSR, and that there won’t be support for NVIDIA DLSS 2 or Intel XeSS.”

I’d prefer any game not featuring any of this, and being better optimized overall. F$%k this industry.

  5. Seems like another unoptimized PC release, but I wasn’t even going to consider getting it until it releases on Steam next year anyway. I do hope they add DLSS into it by then.

  6. patch notes Day One
    – fixed nothing
    – decreasead performance on a wider variety of CPU’s
    – older GTX cards not supported
    – after player feedback increased stutter
    – introduced new microstuttering when loading game
    – player can now expect more crashes when press ENTER or start
    – players cannot load game from SSD’s older than 1 week
    – RTX 4090 melting cables included
    – fix for happiness, player can now delete the game
    – Epic store exclusivity for 5 more years
    – GOTY edition and Deluxe versions now include overpriced skins
    – DLC now not working anymore
    – Jensen from Nvidia gets a new jacket ingame when buying this on Epic store

  7. Do these idiots actually test which CPUs are needed for which settings or do they just “recommend” a random higher tier CPU for each higher setting? I mean, a 7900X or a 13700K for 4K/60? I bet you can achieve that resolution and FPS with a ryzen 5 3600

    1. Prob have 2 stations set up and just post whatever it has. Wouldn’t be surprised. Companies are more focused on having a diverse group of employees than hiring actual talent these days lol

    2. Prob have 2 stations set up and just post whatever it has. Wouldn’t be surprised. Companies are more focused on having a diverse group of employees than hiring actual talent these days lol

    3. Good point because it will probably stop scaling after 6 threads anyway so having more cores/threads available on your CPU really doesn’t help at all .

  8. Keep in mind Dambuster’s, Homefront The Revolution was a tech mess.

Moving on to this.. mess… 5600x and 2070 Super for medium settings in 1080p 60fps… This is already a RED flag.

Another red flag is the fact that the game is also on PS4/Xbox, but on PC somehow minimal config is 7gen I7 CPU and GTX 1060/RX480.

RX 480 is nowhere near 1060, so DI2 must likes AMD hardware.
To backup that claim they only use FSR, and DI2 is free with AMD CPUs and GPUs.

  9. CEO: How do we minimise sales of the game?
Board: Limit supported hardware & only sell on one marketplace instead of all of them.
