As promised, Naughty Dog released a new hotfix patch for the PC version of The Last of Us Part I. Moreover, NVIDIA released a new driver. This new driver addresses some crashes on the GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs. So, if you’re owners of an RTX3070 or RTX3080, we suggest upgrading to it.
According to the release notes, the April 4th Update should fix the mouse camera stuttering issues. From the looks of it, this was due to an issue which could cause the Xbox controller stick inputs to erroneously read as zeros for brief periods of time. We’ll be sure to test the hotfix and report back.
So here is an update. The mouse camera still feels laggy and jittery, especially when playing at a higher resolution than your native one. So yeah, I wouldn’t say that this hotfix completely fixes the mouse camera issues.
And, it appears we’re right. In fact, Naughty Dog claims that this hotfix does not include the mouse camera fix. According to the devs, this fix will come out in a future patch. And, from the sounds of it, the Friday patch won’t include it.
This latest hotfix will also improve overall stability. To be honest, we never had any stability issues with the game on both of our PC systems. Still, this is great news for those that had crashes.
Naughty Dog has also stated that it will release another major patch this Friday. Unfortunately, though, the team has not shared any additional details about it.
As always, Steam will download this hotfix the next time you launch its client. For our NVIDIA readers, you can download the new driver from here. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

Does the patch make the game fun and remove the gay stuff? Does it patch out the black people pandering?
Yeah dude totally, go play it
Every game/entertainment will always pander to the “most marginalized people”. No matter the amount of pandeeing whitey do for black people, blacks will still hate their guts and play victim. Trust me, I know I’m Black. There is a sentiment that I wish I never had to said, but if I was white I’d never deal with black folks. It’s fruitless, they will always use white people as a scapegoat for why there lives are going bad. And I can actually say that about whites as well. Both races are very disgusting and love to use one and other in their sorry excuse for domination. When you get down to the nitty gritty it’s never even been about race. But if it sells, it sells. The humans need to be knock down off the food chain. The black folks that talks the most race hustling garbage are the ones that love to race mingle with whites the most (have relations). But it doesn’t surprise me at all.
So no fix to address the poor perf or excessive Vram useage then…
There is no excessive VRAM usage, there is excessive CPU usage due to compression. You bought the wrong GPU or a budget GPU. This is a PS5 exclusive. Spiderman is cross gen, God of War is crossgen. Digital Foundry is manipulating stupid people with those comparisons to shill Nvidia. PS5 is leveraging more than 10 GB for VRAM and doing upscaling, which means you need more at native.
Enjoy your new 4060 or 70 and upgrading a year from now when the PS5 Pro comes out if you want to run those textures.
Blame Nvidia who has employed planned obsolescence, the influencers and shills that told you VRAM doesn’t matter or who have downplayed it (see Digital Foundry).
You buy the very high end of Nvidia or you don’t buy their GPU’s unless you are dumb. When will PC Gamers get this through their thick skulls. How many times can you get screwed and milked on VRAM until you realize textures matter more than anything else and always will.
Why waste my time though. You will go out and buy the stupid 4070 with 12 GB VRAM over the 7800XT or a 6900XT on deep discount and others will buy the even worse 4060 with 8 gb of VRAM (LOL) in 2023 for 450. Enjoy a card that is as good as a refurbished 200 dollar 6600 in games going forward.
Both Nvidia and Intel have been moving the industry sideways for over a decade.
returnal is PS5 title only and it works fine….
so your argument is invalid, the last of us port is SH*T
I call BS …. The PS5 only has 16 GB TOTAL memory and I doubt this game can run on less that 6 GB RAM on the CPU side
At this point I’m convinced the camera thing is intentional. When you have gone backwards every patch from the initial launch of Uncharted on all your ND ports/patches it has to be intentional. They simply want to advertise their dumb PS5 and have streamers play with a console controller.
The best version of Uncharted you can get with mouse/camera controls is the pirated initial version. That is FUBAR.
ps3 game with plastic surgery requires NASA pc lmao
I hope this comment doesn’t go underrated. More people need to see this. Damn dude, nailed it.
Even NASA pc might not run it properly.
It most certainly won’t.

Was playing last night and not having a problem at all with the game thank f##k.
it took probably 40-50 crashes, endless please wait and wagons of stutters to finish this crap. uninstalled, hopefully wont want to install it ever again
AMD posted a new driver as well. This feels like a steam summer sale game at this point 😀
Updated drivers and installed the new patch. Tested it out on ultra settings and the game crashed after about an hour or so of playing. At least it’s better than what it was. Before the game used to crash within minutes if ultra settings were used, even on the main menu it used to crash. Think the next patch should resolve the issue completely. But I do think the new Nvidia driver helped more than anything.
you use dlss? if yes, disable it or use fsr 2 (even if worse, i know), before refunding the game i tested this myself on a cutscene that was used to crash every single time with dlss on, and worked. So the other reports about dlss that cause crashed can be true.
If you want to play the game right now, is an option, but i suggest you to refund and wait, like i did
Naughty God, the last beacon of humanity.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
A fvcking woke garbage and the lad drop this shlt.
Gotta love the internet.
on my rtx3090 run great 90-100fps at 4k with dlss quality and allo ultra settings
YAY, now we get to recompile our shaders all over again for the umpteenth time …. Of course that assuming is they are actually doing this correctly and forcing the shaders to be recompiled which needs to be done after every game update and every driver update
Just a tip before you start up this update go grab the new Nvidia Hotfix drivers so you don’t have to recompile the shaders twice
Instructions unclear, p3nis stuck in RX6800
John, this guy is really good at comparing games…you should check him out!

Among the many issues he found in the PC version are a few things you didn’t mention in your performance analysis: the water ripples do appear to feature less reactivity than PS5 , as well as screen space reflections are broken in some scenarios, the volumetric light shafts are too sharpened and less realistic than the PS5 version…the audio volume drops drastically when switching from gameplay to cutscenes…when we enter new sections of the levels the frame rate abruptly drops for a few seconds, and this it’s due to the bad assets streaming system, there are huge traversal stutters every time the game loads a new section of the map…I’d say this is quite a long list of flaws for which the game can be defined A REAL MESS!
Ran with zero issues day 1 for me. No idea where the complaints are coming from.
You gotta respect Iron Galaxy, they keep failing upwards, these mf’s are the Karma of all the people who do their job well and dont get anything for it, that is the universe balancing itself, they completly destroy Arkham Knight only to then be awarded with The Last of Us 1.
