Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core feature

CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION does not require a high-end PC, but has shader compilation stutters

Square Enix has just released the remaster of the Final Fantasy 7 PSP game, CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION, on PC. CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION uses Unreal Engine 4 and as the title suggests, it has shader compilation stutters on PC.

Now the good news here is that the game does not require a high-end PC system in order to be enjoyed. Furthermore, it fully supports Keyboard & Mouse, and plays wonderfully with them.

Contrary to The Callisto Protocol’s launch version, the shader compilation stutters in CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION are not that annoying. This is mostly due to the chaotic nature of the game’s combat sequences. Yes, you’ll get a few during your first hour, especially during combat. However, and after your first two fights, you’ll be getting a smooth gaming experience.

So yeah, while Square Enix has not offered the ability to pre-compile shaders, things are not THAT bad. I’ve played so far over two-three hours and the game is a lot of fun. And again, the shader compilation stutters in this particular game are not that many.

Lastly, you can find below some screenshots from the PC version. In order to capture these screenshots, we used an NVIDIA GeForce RTX4090. I’ve also included MSI Afterburner so that you can get an idea of the game’s performance.

Enjoy!

  1. 2022 when a $2200 dollar 4090 you can’t even buy for it’s ripoff MSRP stutters at 30 FPS in garbage Unreal Engine ports with RT and the PS5 doesn’t. When you can’t run a stupid shooter made for 5 year olds (Fortnite) with 2004 WoW like graphics without stuttering at 60 FPS on Unreal 5.1, while the PS5 and Xbox can do Lumen upscaling that looks better than unoptimized Nvidia title Raytracing in most games, because epic optimized how many rays were being used (remember 64x tessellation on the PC in games?).

AMD , Nvidia, MS’s garbage Direct X and the console game engines and publishers. Doing their best to kill PC Gaming, send the majority of us on a controlled little box, while price gouging the sh@^ out of us. The kicker? Someone of you are still dumb enough to fanboy these companies.

    1. “Someone of you are still dumb enough to fanboy these companies.”

Yeah, you apparently. Subscribe to a service to play Peer2Peer multiplayer with the bandwidth you already pay your ISP for, while banging on Fisher Price coloured buttons on the controller for your toy.

Dont worry about it, you can make yourself feel better by pretending PC gamers need ..insert newest, most expensive video card you can think of here/.. to play every game.

        1. Youre here bigging up consoles with the same stupid “dur $2200 GPU” comments they use while claiming to be a PC gamer you dilatory moron.

If you were a PC gamer you wouldnt be referring to other PC gamers as a third party “when you can’t run a stupid shooter made for 5 year olds ” and youd know that even the shittest of ports are still better than the console version 99% of the time.

          1. It is frustrating not going to argue there. But in 99% of cases PC gamers are complaining simply because we arent getting the performance we should be getting for our hardware, the performance is usually still better than on consoles and console version usually has lower settings to boot.

There are very few examples of games that actually run better on consoles vs even the poorly optimised PC version.

Responding with “this is why I game on consoles” or something to that effect is dumb because youre still likely to be playing a worse version of most games.

    1. Thats reasuring. No doubt it will be rectified in an upcoming patch for those affected by it, but ill wait till then before buying i recon.

I enjoyed FFVR apart from the extreme cringe, Honey Bee Inn part.

  2. Go to:
    LocalAppDataHk_projectSavedConfigWindowsNoEditor
Open Enigne.ini with a text editor.
    Add the following lines:

    [/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
    r.CreateShadersOnLoad=1

    Save Engine.ini.

  3. Yeah it’s honestly terrible from what I saw. Aside from the trash engine it’s using, it’s not a good game.

  4. I may need your help. I tried many ways but couldn’t solve it, but after reading your article, I think you have a way to help me. I’m looking forward for your reply. Thanks.
