H3llBaron has released a must-have HD collection pack for id Software’s Doom horror game, Doom 3. This pack includes numerous mods, as well as high-quality textures, aiming to give Doom 3 the remastered treatment it deserves.
Going into more details, Doom 3 Essential HD Pack includes and fixes the AI upscale pack by darklord34, and merges it with Monoxead and Wulfen textures. Moreover, it reworks several HD textures to properly match original ones. Furthermore, it adds cubemap reflections for paintings, blood and weapons.
You can download this HD pack from here. Below you can also find its key features. I’ve also included a comparison video between this mod and the vanilla version of Doom 3.

Did they also make an HD duct tape mod?
Don’t think so.
An HD flashlight?
Nope. This HD pack is only for the original Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil, but is also compatible with Lost Mission.
Worst features in Doom 3 graphics wise is the gibbing and monsters disappearing after a while, don’t know why humans can stay dead but monsters cannot.
Modded doom also does that but the demons stay 30 seconds or so before dissolving, instead of instantly.
I know this was posted 8 months ago, but to answer your question, while the mod does include an optional mod to allow monsters to stay forever, it sometimes causes scripting and/or gameplay problems. The main ones being that since bodies don’t disappear, and the monsters have a tendency to spawn a lot, their bodies will block your view of others (especially Trites).
They will also cause doors to get stuck trying to close, and will even prevent you from completing a level if a monster’s body blocks a lift, door, or vehicle that’s supposed to move. Basically, they create more problems than its worth. Besides, lore wise, it makes sense they get sent back to Hell when you kill them.
It doesn’t make sense lore-wise because they also disappear when you kill them in hell. I installed some mods to make bodies not disappear but they just make the body stay a while longer, they eventually despawn.
Shame it doesn’t fix the sh**ty weapons.
There’s plenty of mods for that, i think they can be integrated with this one.
Yeah, but I can’t for the life of me get them to work

There are plenty of mods that already included mounted flashlight, i’m playing Doom 3 Bravo mod right now, don’t know about this one you posted.
Nope. This HD pack is only for the original Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil, but is also compatible with Lost Mission.
The ragdoll system tho…
I like it for the most part, objects and corpses have weight unlike other games where they are lighter than paper (Dark Souls, Dead Space). FEAR is the golden standards of ragdolls.
FEAR still has got the best AI in all FPS games. In extreme difficulty, it is brutal AF.
Strange choice to develop this for the base version of Doom 3 and not the BFG Edition.
well the original is better
How so? Not arguing, genuinely curious.
There was some lightining downgrades at released, don’t know if modders fixed that, also the creator stated that “some users tried this on BFG and RBDOOM-3-BFG with good results, but I don’t assure nothing.” so it’s worth a try.
the lightning got a downgrade and the game was made easier by adding more ammo pickups and the original games got censored. I recommend the review by GManLives.
What was censored exactly? I think they also added a mounted flashlight.
doom 1 and 2 got the red cross replaced with a pill, and in doom 2 the wolfenstein levels were censored by replacing the SS with zombiemen and removing all the nazi imagery. the mounted flashlight was added, but it was already modded modded into the game with duct tape mod and yafm, like the lost mission. No Rest For the Living was also included, but you can just download it in doom 2 classic.
I dunno why they would censor natsoc enemies when they make games like Wolfenstein new order and such, but not that i care about those as long as Doom 3 remains untouched.
This. Choosing to experience Classic Doom through some lame console centric compilation rather one of the dozens of high quality source ports with several years/decades of development behind them (eg GZDoom) is bonkers. IIRC even taking the IWADs supplied with D3 BFG Edition and dropping them in with a source port will allow them to be played uncensored.
Pretty much, but i would also state that pirating those games and depriving ID/Bethesda/Microsoft of their IP royalties is a must.
Some Bethesda drone got big assmad when I trashed the crappy source ports for classic Doom that they released onto Steam a couple years back. Was hilarious.

they censored the health pickups and the wolfenstein levels.
Ok, i won’t ask, but just a tip: don’t get attached to the “latex” brand, i think there is probably some stalker reporting ur posts, the important part is the message aniways.
Interesting I’ll check that out. I’ve played both versions and honestly didn’t notice this.
The main difference is the use of torchlight. I am told that BFG uses a built in torchlight system whereas in the original one, you have to pull it out, look for stuffs & then bring back your gun again.
F*k sakes are there ANY articles on this site apart from MODS, FAN REMAKES and screenshots aka bullshots?
Feels like 80% of articles are the categories above.
Every since Metal Messiah left the quality dropped by a mile.
Totally agree on this 100%. I too miss MM’s articles.
Speak for yourself. I appreciate being informed of higher fidelity graphics assets mods for classic games such as this. If you want some cucked, console centric game news site you have an ocean of them to pick from.
Metal Messiah didn’t left, he just made a comment in the same article you are criticizing. I get what you mean with some UE5 fan showcases (calling them remakes is an insult to the word) or some graphics wh0r3 skyrim mod compilation or useless mods that break the immersion, but this one is actually useful.
the site give us what we want. speak for yourself.
